OK, I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 Pro recently. So, since I have to reinstall a lot of things, I figured what the heck, lets give that DIM thingie a try. I let it download and install the V4, M4...well, the Gen4 figures, with morphs++ and skins, including elites, a few outfits and hairs and props. Then I opened DS and double-clicked on V4 and it gives me an error message: Can't find support folder. Whisky Tango Fred? >:( I never had this problem with the old runtime. This is supposed to be better somehow?

You do know that DIM will install the Metadata that will show in DS even if the Content Folder is not mapped? So it looks like the content is there but is really in a folder here C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library unless you changed the install path of DIM.

No, it's where I told the DIM to put it. And DS shows that folder as one of the libraries. It may be looking in the location you sited, but there's nothing there and I don't want anything there. The C: drive is a 120 Gig SSD. I don't want to clog it up with stuff.

What does "Actor" mean on the thumbnail? I never noticed that before. Though, I never used the Smart Content tab before, either.

Actor means it's a file that will load an item - a figure or prop. Those flashes indicate the different types of content (scenes, actors, lights, cameras, materials and so on).

I assume the folder you installed to is selected as a Poser content directory?

Well here is a dumb question is the DIM folder you used listed as DAZ Studio Format and as Poser Format in the Folder Paths? The Gen 4 figures are still Poser format so will fail if the folder is not listed as both.

top o the morning. :) 18-March looking rain free?

For us yes. Stuff has gone from green to yellow to brown the past few months, leaving aside all the black stuff from the fires, is pretty dry but don't know whether it is an official drought yet :)

My roommate scares me. I do not know what she is capable of doing.

I am hoping to get a real YMCA membership soon. Right now I have a two week membership.

OK, the damn thing lied to me. OK, my eyes lied to me. The installation path was not listed as a library. I added it, made it both Poser and DS, and now she loads.

Sorry for the false alarm. I've had a really tough two weeks, a lot of frustrations and worries. I guess it made me brain dead. :smirk:

...I get a similar issue with V4 (and V4 Unimesh characters) for some odd reason. M4 (and the M4 Unimesh characters) as well as K4 all load fine so I have no Idea why I just run into this with V4 .

It seems fixed now that I actually added the library to the content mangler. :red: I haven't tested every single thing...that would take a long, long, time.

Something I didn't know...you don't need Aiko 3 loaded to use Aikobot Maria, she's a separate cr2. Loads oddly, though. You need to then select her and then load the "All Parts" thingie. Before that, she's sort of hanging in the air as separate body parts with no arms or legs. Weird, they way they did that. But as long as it works, I guess...

...I found that out the first time I tried to load her. Had two separate figures and wondered why the posing didn't work right when I selected Aiko3

Posing her is still a bit odd as some times you have to select the straight body part and other times the "Robot Body Part."

I intend to use her at least once...after all, I paid for her. The newer version is way too expensive.

In the DIM if you Highlight the Path you do not want and then do the - (minus) icon it will go away. Then in DS in your paths set it to this...

You understand No CMS means no AutoFit correct? You will have to do Transfer by hand for clothing mostly.

So I can delete that "recommended" one without causing some kind of fit of rage in DS?

DanaI mean just the path in DIM. If the Folder has content do not delete it. But that Path in DIM is not needed if you plan to never install content there. IF the default folder is Empty and all your content is in the E folder Delete it from your Paths in DS and then delete it from your Drive. I did, I have all my stuff folders and all on D.
