...hmmm I don't recall any conventions here in Portland that weekend. There is the World Horror Con on May 8 - 11th, and Magic the Gathering Grand Prix gaming convention the same weekend but that is about all for the month of May.

The artist convention is called Furlandia http://www.furlandia.org Furlandia is not well know like other art conventions like Anthrocon in Pittsburgh. I want to see all the different art styles on display and art in the auctions.

...I didn't come across that one as I was just looking strictly for arts/sci-fi cons.

Aside from that, there is Norwescon (Seattle) in about two weeks.

Westercon (the west coast regional) is being held in Salt Lake City thise year. I wonder if anyone from Daz will be there. Memberships are only 50$ for the full weekend, fairly tempting. Sent them a note about displaying digitally produced art in the art show. Unfortunately Amtrak cancelled the Pioneer which used to travel between Portland and Salt Lake. Not wanting to fly due to baggage fees and carry on restrictions (last thing I want to do is place my artwork folio below in the cargo hold so some bonehead baggage hustler can drop a 100# suitcase on it of drop it on the tarmac). Discovered I can go by train via Sacramento but it gets into SLC at 03:00 in the morning. Not sure how close the train station is to the hotel.

how's Leela doing? is she on new adventures?

...the kid's still "growing". Finally have freckles for her. Wish I could get a few things I need while the sale is still on but short of a major windfall doesn't look likely. Generation X2 is out along with the GenX Genesis 2 add on. Even with the price break I get for having the original GenerationX plugin still can't afford it.

As to the story still working on some details in the plotline and getting scenes to flow more properly when I can. This whole unemployment thing has taken a lot of attention away and a lot out of me. Wish I could just hit those six numbers and retire so I can devote 24/7 to my writing and illustration work

Bugger just had a power flicker and the workstation & modem rebooted. Fortunately I wasn't working on any scene projects at the time.

Have t go meet with someone, will be back in a bit.

    You're running a workstation without a UPS?

    Dana
...couldn't afford one after I lost my job. and then having my monitor blow out.

The only decent ones with good power filtering were over 200$

All of APC's products are good, and any of them would be better than nothing at all.

    Dana
...at this point, still out of my budget as I've been financially "running on fumes" pretty much the last couple months.

I have been without UI benefits for ten weeks now and it will be at least another week from tomorrow before the vote (the Ukraine aid bill was pushed ahead in the agenda for some reason) as they went on another week long recess again. After that the bill still needs to be approved by the House. If it gets stalled there before the next recess, it will be two more months before they reconvene.

edit: nevermind, the contact information was on another page. Took me awhile to find it.

complaint: I cannot unsubscribe from preta3d.com's mailing list because I don't see a place to type my email address in. I don't remember creating an account on preta3d.com. I can't find any conact information on the website other than a forum on RuntimeDNA. Maybe I'll create an account on RuntimeDNA so that I can unsubscribe from preta3d.com's mailing list, but I don't feel like creating another account that I will rarely use.

...ugh achy morning again. Looked out the window and windy again today. Have to go to east county where it usually is even worse. No money for coffee today so going to be a tough afternoon workshop.

Meeting I was supposed to have yesterday didn't happen. Got caught in a cold rain on the way home.

Have to make calls, but no telephone box nearby. The only two pay telephones I know of are not only a bit of a walk away, but in very noisy areas. Wish I could find a phone plan that just gave you minutes without making it a monthly thing. I checked at one store which has those card activated phones but all of them are now "by the month". I never use up the minutes they give in a month's time and feel ripped off when I lose what I couldn't use. My plan I've been on gives me 500 minutes of which I used ate the most 120 - 150 and there is no rollover. Why can't these card phones let you use up all your minutes first and then you pay to recharge them when you are about to run out? All i need it for is as a method of contact for prospective employers for setting up interviews.

I miss Ma Bell. A real telephone box on just about on every corner (at 10¢ for an unlimited local call) and a basic simple and inexpensive plan for the home.

...basically. though chewed up and and spat back out in the form of a bunch of telecom companies that can't do anything so simple and straightforward anymore.

Ugh site is buggered today. Was logged out while submitting a post and after I signed back in kept getting misdirected to my account page instead of taken back to the thread. Then just a few minutes ago got the issue where when I clicked "submit post" I was given a blank response window again (which happened again trying to submit this post).

...and yes I had already cleared my cache & everything yet it still happened.

Almost two years now and this rubbish is still occurring.

Are you kidding me? Is that your solution or DAZ's? For me, I'd still be working on it next week this time! :bug:

    The wishlist needs three things
    1. a sort by tool
    2. a way to see DAZ Originals Only.
    3. a sale end date, so we know how long we have to make decision on something that's on sale.

It's so hard to figure out what to use my monthly $6 on, and these punch coupons.

OK, I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 Pro recently. So, since I have to reinstall a lot of things, I figured what the heck, lets give that DIM thingie a try. I let it download and install the V4, M4...well, the Gen4 figures, with morphs++ and skins, including elites, a few outfits and hairs and props. Then I opened DS and double-clicked on V4 and it gives me an error message: Can't find support folder. Whisky Tango Fred? >:( I never had this problem with the old runtime. This is supposed to be better somehow?

You do know that DIM will install the Metadata that will show in DS even if the Content Folder is not mapped? So it looks like the content is there but is really in a folder here C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library unless you changed the install path of DIM.
