    With the imported item selected, Edit>Figure>Geometry>Add dForce Modifier : Dynamic Surface. Optionally you can rig it by having the item and the figure loaded (the clothing has to fit on the figure without modification) and using Edit>Figure>Transfer Utility, setting the Source to the figure and the imported object as the Target.

    Any ideas why some dforce products don't show up at all in the dforce companion menu (and therefore can't be selected / deselected or used with the companion)?

    Recently I've found https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-laundry and https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-jw-classic-bed .

    Hello.

    Did one of the recent updates break this plugin?

    I'm running DAZ 14.15.0.2 and have ManFriday's dForce Companion V1.0.1. Lately nothing ever shows up in the plugin's pane.

    The plugin shows in the "About Installed Plugins" with a green plug icon and the pane shows. Checking "Show all" and hitting the refresh-looking button does nothing.

    EDIT: my bad, I just forgot to convert props to figures... Going to keep this comment instead of deleting it in case others forget that step and are similarly confused... Sorry!

    For some reason, I remember using that plugin for props as well. That being said, there is a workaround: converting the prop to figure (via Edit > Object > Rigging > Convert Prop to Figure).

    You just have to convert the prop to a figure, as mentioned several times above. That is what ManFriday recommended.

    You just have to convert the prop to a figure, as mentioned several times above. That is what ManFriday recommended.

    I never made that, just the opposite :D

    BUt I will try to remember that, when I have a prop to dforce again :)

    i love this tool.  i can't imagine dforcing without it. 

    i would like to request an option to keep the simulation variables visible permanently.  or as the default behavior.  i've lost track of the times i've thought i was going to be simulating a single frame, but 'simulate from animated pose has kicked in'.  and that does put a bit of an ongoing dent in the tool's otherwise stellar time-saving capabilities.

    I have run into the same situation, but I don't think it would be a good idea for dForce Companion to change that. The simulation settings are global to Daz Studio, and the dForce Companion tab just displays them and allows you to change them. It's just another interface to what you can see on Daz Studio's "Simulation settings" pane. I'm afraid if I force certain settings to be changed it will lead to compatibility problems on other people's systems.

    Simulation settings are saved with the scene though. If you feel strongly about it, you can save a scene file with your simulation settings and load that by default in Daz Studio (Preferences -> Studio -> Load file). If you load another scene file though, the setting will be changed by the new scene file again though.

    i'm just wishing for an option to keep the interface from hiding those essential details.  as is, the hidden 'simulate from default pose' setting is a bit of a workflow trap.

    Having just gone through the pain of a complete reinstall (DazCentral... you and me are not gonna stay friends), I now get an exception whenever I switch to the dForce Companion pane. Not sure what's up. I've tried re-installing it, but it made no difference. Exception only happens when there are actual dForce items in the scene.

    Here are the details.

    1. Plugin seems to load fine during startup

    Ok so I got it working. It seems, no matter how hard I try, Daz Connect just pulls be back in :D

    In case anyone else runs into this; after my re-install I had basically decided to not deal with Daz Connect at all. What a terrible PoS that is - but I guess that's a story for a different day.

    Then I realised, it wasn't only dForce Companion giving me trouble. Scripts for Camera Magic were failing as well - and that led me to this thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/335261/unable-to-run-scripts

    So following what I learned in this thread, that there's apparently some kind of DRM scheme thing going on, I downloaded Daz Connect (again), opened it up. Did NOTHING else. And like magic, everything began working again.

    Happy that it's solved, not happy how it had to be solved. But I guess all of this has nothing to do with the actual product here - which I think is absolutely a great product, I might add. I'm a fan :)
