Scene is a work in progress.
April and Donnie
b. Daz Studio, Photoshop, Zbrush, Filterforge
c. Both figures are Genesis, April is wearing Mall Girl by Dogz and the V5 Elite Ponytail. Donnie's morph, texture and clothing are all custom.
Is looking Purple to me so Donatello right?
Nice work everyone! Some amazing work going on here. Marilyn... wow!
Looks like you've done some good work customising this guy, especially all that texture editing. You didn't say which real world/fictional character you were aiming for, he definitely has a strong 50s feel to him. I have a couple of 50s era characters I think it could be, but I'm not always up on the latest book/movie characters so would love to know for sure.
Looking forward to seeing the finished result!
I finished this one last night. Just putting together all the info for the entries thread where I'll include full-size version and the raw render. Too many morphs used to count, but there's a JoeQuick one (for D5) in the mix. Love your morphs Joe!
Edit: It's not perfect but I've gone ahead and entered, so just sharing rather than looking for feedback at this stage.

Hopefully, he will be more recognizable once I add his car. It is the old cartoon version of Speed Racer - not the recent Nickelodeon cartoon spinoff or the awful live action movie version. Here is a web pic of Speed and Trixie.
Agree, some amazing approaches already. Norma Jean (Monroe), wow!
Oh he is already! As I suspected, it was just my lack of familiarity with the show. I figured the clothing would be a giveaway for those who knew the character. Hiro seems an ideal base for him and you already have those strong eyebrows so it's looking good.
Looks good! I recognized him...maybe not immediately, but that isn't your fault. ;-) If you can show a close-up of your character's face I can give some more specific feedback. Very nice work overall...good use of Carrara's various functions.
Glad you have joined us! I've seen some of your Turtles renders before, not to mention other characters. I love the look and feel of this render: the textures, the lighting, and of course the characters themselves.
Some great stuff in the Entries thread too! I won't be commenting specifically on those until after the contest closes.

Here is a closer look, and a reference pic. You can see that I painted the eyebrows instead of using a transmap or a hair model. And, he needs a red bandana for his neck, but I will probably use the soft-body physics for that, so will wait 'til the end.
And the other two are looking so good... I'm very impressed by all the talent this contest brings to the front of the forums to be seen.
Here's something I'm working on. You probably don't know her name, but hopefully you recognize the face.
I think this is the Afghan girl with the amazing eye collor

Yes, you got it...the one from the famous National Geographic cover. I think the eye morphs and her expression still need some tweaking...there's a lot of subtlety to capture. For the moment I'm using the Riley for S5 texture by Vyktohria. The eye texture comes from Victoria 5 (Bree).
A scene I'm working on for the contest.
Still need to make the breast plate for her suit and redo the texture on the android's head.
Used, so far: V4, M4, belt from uzilite's Hardcore m4 pack, Portia hair... and a couple of freebies. All textures mine.
Photoshop used for composing afterwards and lens blur on the edges.
Looking very good Ariah! And I also was able to guess Scott's girl too. I love seeing what everyone comes up with.
I made a few tweaks and added a couple background props.
Well it's a non entry since the characters are not DAZ based, but couldn't resist since the likeness is there.
3DSMax, to DS to Luxrender via Reality.
best of luck with the contest! The Norma Jean image is outstanding!
Holy damn...
I was working on a look-alike for actor Brandon Routh but the skin needs to be paler.
I had to look up the character because I haven't seen that movie, but it was pretty easy to figure out. She looks just about spot on from what I can see. Great job with the lighting and custom textures too.
This is great...thank you for sharing it!
Very good likeness...aside from the skin color, the biggest difference I see is in the lips. Also, your character looks younger than the reference photo.
Here's another of mine (probably goes without saying, but all these are non-entries...I will not be entering the contest as I am running it). Very rough draft, so don't pay too much attention to the outfits, pose, guns, etc., none of which are very authentic at the moment.
For the characters, I used Genesis Basic Male and Basic Female, plus morphs. The only morph sets I used were Genesis Evolutions, the free DieTrying morphs from ShareCG, and (on Mulder) David 3 for Genesis. Wanted to see how close I could get using just a handful of products.
Well done Scott. My first thought was Scully & Mulder, even before I got to the (on Mulder) reference.
Pretty interesting story if you research the original image...
Afghan girl Sharbat Gula
Thanks, Kismet2012. And thank you for sharing that link, Gogger. It's an interesting story indeed.
I wanted to have a go at creating Mary Queen of Scots, but in her younger years. This is her at around 13, when she was betrothed but not yet married to the future King of France -- the first of her 3 tragic marriages.
I've been working on this WIP for a while as there's a lot of work to do on the clothing. Today I made her hood and veil.
It's challenging working from historical portraits from this era, they tend to make all the women look alike with elongated oval heads and small mouths! I did see Mary's death mask for myself and take a photo of it, but it was painted on and I find it more creepy than helpful.
Scott, you had better keep her cousin Princess Elizabeth, who you created last year, well away from this one!
