BTW, I just have to be honest- I've never been impressed with the 3D Universe hair so far as morphs offered. You can check out the description and see what I mean. No movement/blowing morphs. It's all just basic. I may just go with Heidi as I like the freckles. Edit- I removed Indiana and substituted in the Ale House. It's just too detailed to pass up for the price!

I'm getting the police station on its own as it's already severely discounted. It's amazing what that involves, be sure and give it a look.

So Fugazi is really discounted (is that on purpose?)  so I did a separate cart with just that vendor.  Overall saved about 70%  (69%)  No other purchases required.

Novica, I have had a customer service issue out on Heidi since Feburary 2020. She loads at around 3 feet something. They duplicated my report and it went up to Bug Tracker. No fix yet and when they tried to close it, I refused to accept their answer. She was promoted as a young adult, not a scrunched-up little girl. The hair is okay, but the character has issues.

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,896

@memcneil70   Thanks! I already bought her, but it's okay. Since it's a bundle, I can use the hair and clothing, and her materials on other folks. I actually thought of her more of a kid, but you're right, they should have been upfront about that.  I wonder if using Growing Up in reverse could age/ fix her height?

I don't know. This is so unusual for a 3DUniverse character. I never had issues with their products. That is why I asked CS to contact them to look at the character to see what happened. I also notice that there were no comments in the forums about this, so I don't know if I had a bad file or what, even though I tried multiple installations before reporting.

Here's some other suggestions from the featured artists, sorted by percent off- I went for the 75% off, and textures for outfits from the Pro Bundles. These have a nice variety in each set.  I know I have a bias toward neutral / earth tones :) and this fit the bill. I used my PC+ $18 or more coupon to get $6 off, so I got all this for $16.20 and 82% off. They were only $2.70 each!

Here's what I got. (I didn't buy the Fantasy Horns. Don't want them. But with the extra 50% off for having Sloshwerks' set in the cart, I still came out ahead 99¢. And then qualified to use the EXTRA-FIFTY coupon…)

Hurricane Delta- Thoughts and hoping for the best for you folks in Louisiana. We've already got balmy winds here in Pensacola. There's already 25,000 folks without power at 2pm in Texas and Louisiana (edit, at 3:10pm that's up to 42,000   edit 57,000 at 4pm    63,000 at 4:30pm   81,000 5:30pm    over 200,000 6:45pm    250,000+  7pm and down to 90mph Category 1)  330,000 8pm   360,000  8:30pm   and the eye won't come ashore for hours (they were saying 5-6pm but don't know the recent advisory.)  Tomorrow we will have STEADY 21mph with gusts to 33 mph. 39 is tropical storm, so this is ridiculous- and rain for four hours. We still have debris piled along all the roads, massive trees cut up. I hope Hurricane Delta keeps moving at that good pace and scoots along quickly.

I just checked and our winds are already steady at 14mph. (Actually quite nice, I'm walking in the backyard.)

I'm doing a Photoshop action and it just won't behave so I've contacted the vendor. It's giving that "background not available" for the very first step, and I've gone step by step using the video and there's nothing more I can do. Checked the image size, all settings are correct (with the image mode being RGB and 8 bits, opacity and flow at 100%, the brushes, pattern, and action all loaded, the panel options correct, etc.)  SOOOOOOO frustrating. Anyone else have the Realistic Sketch Photoshop Action by denis154?  Edit- found the problem, this one requires a jpg.

So sad!  Hurricane Delta came ashore around 6pm-ish, just THIRTEEN MILES from where Hurricane Laura came ashore. (Creole for Delta, Cameron for Laura.)  Laura came ashore August 27th, just 6 weeks ago.

Militia Outpost          Angel HD (G8F)         dForce Corporate Hair (G8F / G8M)            Dragonette Outfit (G8F)

The Militia Outpost is interesting, and the windows and open door do a nice job of bringing light in. This is using the Latitude/Longitude lights, 5pm and November 15th.

Also showing you the Realistic Sketch Photoshop Action by Denis154 over at Envato (Graphics River)  In the Photoshop thread, I'll show you the original with that plug-in. This one is adjusted. Note this plug-in features cartoony and a grainy appearance.

Here's the link to the Photoshop thread where I post more information about the plug-in and what the original result looks like with more saturation/vibrancy.  This particular plug-in would be good for beginners because the sliders are very straightforward. That post will also link to the video and you'll see how easy this is to use. No masking required, just load and play.

Okay, off the computer for the rest of the night. Glad Hurricane Delta is moving out, 90 mph Category 1. Stay safe everyone!

This is what I got with the EXTRA-FIFTY coupon. I didn't want the fantasy horns either; so I picked up the lighting tutorials as my second (and third & fourth) Debut new release They were pretty cheap with the extra 50% off from the non-DO debut new release; and maybe I can pick up a few tips on lighting.

@charliejudge  You got good stuff! :)

I just don't like the fantasy horns exaggerated skin around the horns (where it enters the forehead / head.)  It makes it look painful IMO and is distracting to me. But at least they made an effort to show an effect on the skin where the horns enter.

Dang it, right when I get on a good sleep schedule, weather radio alarm goes off. We've got two tornadoes in the area. I'm fine, I'm listening from the front porch and it's very calm, radar indicates about three miles at the closest from here. :(  Got my neighbor out of bed, she didn't answer the phone so I ran over and rang her doorbell. I looked like a drenched rat!  I'll check in later, don't worry, I'm radar aware. :)

All's good. We'll have another round around 9:30am this morning according to future radar. Difference in landfall between Hurricane Laura (Cat 4) and Hurricane Delta (Cat 2) was only TWELVE MILES. Everything they had done just got damaged again. Interesting fact- there is a roofing supply shortage due to Covid19, they greatly reduced manufacturing of shingles so people are a waiting list with contractors. Can't wait for 2020 to be over!  The virus, then a fire near the barn, Mom gets the virus,  then a "in the eyewall of a hurricane for hours and hours."   Sheesh, enough!

I posted the original result over in the Photoshop Playtime thread, here's the tweaked (using the plug-in only)  Again, it's the Realistic Sketch Photoshop Action. This plug-in is good for beginners as most of the tweaks are hue/saturation, then sliding opacity sliders for every layer. This is a previous render, I wanted to test an outdoor scene.

Note- if you're picking up the giant fantasy spider, the Giant Fantasy Spider Bundle with the tack is the same price. Those are in the 2.99 sale

Still testing plug-ins, and I like the versatility of this one better. Grand Trend Art has more options regarding midtones, shadows, highlights, and changing the colors of the highlights. I'll do more details on what to tweak over in the Photoshop Playtime thread.

I don't like the greenish-gray color of her right arm, and what I like about this plug-in is the ability to change the color of the highlights (which is that arm.)  I masked the woman, the drinks and tray, and the rocks. So those have the effects applied.

In postwork, I added blue to the water. It was a bit gray. Otherwise, all the changes are available in the actual plug-in.

Absolutely LOVE this next plug-in. Tested it on Dior, who I already featured. You can get a lot of different looks with this, including black and white, or color. Also the amount of detail. More explanations will be posted in the Photoshop Playtime thread.

I like this one. My PS Essentials 9 has a chalk filter but it looks hideous; they one you've used looks good.

Hi, I’m new to this ,so please bear with me. This is my first post on a Forum.

I have been experimenting with the fog feature in the render engine, and someone suggested I post some tips on what I’ve learned.     https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/1099552

The images I’m posting here will explain, I hope.

I haven’t mastered the lighting and fog yet or playing with coloured lights and the fog together.

The lighting I have used is pretty simple. I set up this scene to give a basic and close up series of images of the fog. In a landscape, or an exterior scene it is easier to handle because you have a greater depth of vision to place the fog in and its more forgiving. I have used it here almost as a method to light the scene, to colour it, instead of using lights or going into PS and using layers to create colour.

I hope this encourages you to have a go at it yourself, and pass on what you have learned.

Hi @Cicada !    Thanks for the posts and experiments with the iray matte fog feature...you've shown me that's it's potentially a powerful tool--more than just plain old (white) fog--for shifting and colortoning selectively parts of a scene right in Daz Studio.

@cicada  This is from one of my contests, I always post how to do images, and how to do links. :)
    Images:
Attach your image using the Attach A File below this message area. Save the post.
Now go to your image and click it to view it. Copy the URL.
Now Edit your post (mouse over the upper right corner above this area and you'll see a cog to click/Select Edit.)
Next, go to the postcard icon above this message area (looks like two mountains and a sun) and click it.
Paste the URL where it says URL. For width and height, try making the height 600 or less. It will automatically keep the aspect ratio for you.
Then, while the popup is still open, click on the Link tab and paste the URL there too. For Target, please select the "New Window (_blank) option so again, they stay on the thread. (If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me. I'll be glad to help you.)

    How To Do A Link:

    1. Highlight the text you want to make a clickable link. (Hold down the left mouse and run your cursor over the print.)
    2. Click on the link icon (it's that chain-link above this text area) and right click to paste it there where it says URL.
IMPORTANT: there will be two tabs, Link Info and Target. The URL is in Link Info, so that's easy.
    3. What I need you to do is THEN click on the Target tab. Please open the drop down and select  "New Window (_blank) "so when people do click on the link you've provided, they don't leave the thread. (Very annoying.)

You're welcome. BTW, the reason I say height 600 or less is because for many viewers' screens, it means they won't have to scroll up or down to see your entire image. For width, 800px is the max which fits anyway. And keep in mind even if you put those dimensions in the popup (where it shows the height and width) if you load a big image, that can slow things down as the image still has to be "processed" before viewing. So I try to do my originals at 1300 or less (so when people click it they do see an enlargement) but not excessively large.
