Even outside in the real world, go take a walk around a men's store and see how dull and drab the clothing is, with so little variation, and choice compared to a women's clothing store. As a man, I despair.

So very true and annoying. (Which isn't to say I'm a lumberjack or anything. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink... say no more. ;-P)

Ha ha, I promise I will "say no more" and many thanks for your reply.

I haven't posted anything because I haven' had time to render anything more than a couple quick test renders.

That and I always feel kinda... weird about posting in threads dedicated to a given shape or character, because I so rarely use any shape at more than half strength, and am constantly mixing and matching characters with their skin textures. So anything I post won't really be good "advertising" for whatever the thread is dedicated to.

I love Gianni! Thank you, DAZ.

Besides being hunky, he has a great face. Here are a couple of renders using some Lively Expressions.

I also rarely use a character as is, personally I like seeing how a character mixes so I actually think it is good advertising to show the versatility of a character.

    Same here!

Gianni was released around Easter, and this time is a busy one. In Europe (or at least in Germany) there are school holidays, everyone spends time with family and friends, etc. This may explain why not many people (including myself) found the time to render this excellent new figure.

Man, If I would have waited, could have gotten Gianni for $48.98 instead of $55.42. That bites.

I'm going to ask for a refund of the difference.

Yes. Ask for a price adjustment if it is less than a month.

i can't get it to work at all. all that loads is a basic Genesis male with textures and slightly taller than usual, but no face or body morphs - no muscle at all, and the expressions dont work. i think the installer is putting files in the wrong place, because i have this problem with all my G2 stuff. can anyone supply a folder tree to show where i should install all the files? i want to try manual instal, but i dont know where to put it.

Is the preset for loading Gianni in the usual place? Is this in DS or in Poser,? if the latter, did you install both the core and the Poser CF files?

not tried it in Poser yet - just the 64 bit and 32 bit versions of DS (using windows 7)

genesis 1 has been working ok, but i cant seem to get genesis 2 to morph or express. i cant find my morph files, so they must be installing in the wrong place or not installing at all for some reason. i had the same problem with the werecats - heads looked female, wouldnt take to freak, and the legs were wrong. i was having problems with Withered too, but solved that by buying the G2 male morph pack and installed them manually. i think the issue is the installer - it doesnt know where to put things.

By default the DAZ Install Manager places content in the My DAZ 3d Library folder in your Public (or Shared) Documents folder. Is that a DAZ Studio Content directory in DS for you?

yes - and i have genesis 2 male in the people folder. i dont see Gianni there though. should he be in the characters sub folder? i shall try uninstalling him, then re-installing in that location.

Figured this old Werts morph I modified a bit would look good on a Gianni body morph ;)

I went crazy and bought the Gianni 6 Pro Bundle. It will take me a while to make use of most of it, but I particularly liked "Taric". I increased his bulk a little with the Gianni 6 body morph.

There's recent thread about using the poly select tool to hide intersecting grass. Here it came in handy because the hair intersected the elf ears (even with ear morphs removed from the hair). As someone said, it's pretty easy to do and is worth remembering for issues like this.

This is a Luxrender using IBL mostly. It must have been a pretty efficient set up as it took just over an hour to render. I removed everything in the Enchanted Forest scene that wasn't visible to allow the light through.

I composed this in Daz Studio, then took it into Luxrender via the Reality 2.5 plugin.
