I've started a pretty cool little web page for my new professional tool for my animation endeavors - Cascadeur.

Animating with Cascadeur - within the DAZ Zone on my web site.

What's Cascadeur? Well, besides being the tool that I'll be using to create new animation packs for Daz Studio, here's a really short and wonderful explanation - and my new page goes a bit further with it - and will expand as I get more acquainted with using it:

Wow, I miss another 6 weeks and you have a whole new tool, with creative pipeline, to catch up on.  Keep up the great work.  I am soooo behind.  sad

    Behind Schmehind!

We do what we can, when we can! :)

Thanks Diomede! Having a Blast over here!!! :)

I was just going through the 3DXtract e-zines on my website. Hmmm, I thought to myself. These issues should be in their proper proportion. Makes it easier to scroll through their contents with the mouse wheel. So... Bam! Done.

So cool going through new techniques to try in Carrara, written for Carrara from way back - and we can still be inspired by all of this genius! :)

    Very excited!

Next month I'll be teaching a class via Digital Art Live on creating custom costumes within Daz Studio.

This is something I do on a near day-to-day basis, and have some really fun techniques that are just muscle-memory to me - making it a lot of fun to just get down and be super creative when designing an outfit.

Making them for my hero characters is, of course, always the biggest challenge - making them the most fun.

    But what about everyone else?

Well, I have a lot of fun with that too, and have some specific philosophies that I go by when doing so.

So I thought that such a thing might be fun to show the world!

Shopping habits, surface editing, texture editing, mesh editing, morph making, dForce setup and use, saving it all out to work over and over again... these are the things I do all the time - often without even a thought. It's become one of the most comfortable things to do, because I love doing it, and do it all the time.

Should be a fun class! :)

Well, we've had a bit of a catastrophe over here - my daughter's house caught fire.

Everyone's fine and the house is actually going to be fine - we think - but I've spoken with Paul at Digital Art Live and we're cancelling the class mentioned above.

My daughter needs me and I'm all in on that right now. Sorry about that.

We'll see what the future holds for this amazing class. Maybe I'll put it together as an at-home course or something. One way or another, I'd really like to get these ideas and techniques out to everyone - it's fun, it's simple - it's simple and Fun!!!

BTW - kudos to the Fire Department! Those folks are True Heroes!!!

  • Hello Dartanbeck,

Hope all is well with you and your family, so sorry to hear about your daughter, the good side is that you get to spend time together solving a problem. Mine just moved in so I speak from experience :)

Anyway I really love the stuff you've been doing lately with Digital Art Live and have a suggestion, I think it would be worthwhile to have a focus on V3D's HDR creator products, I don't know if you have used them yet, but they are really amazing, you can take a complex DAZ scene and  make an HDRI out of it! The tools are a bit complex though and it would be great to have one of your presentations going through the process and then overlaying an animation on top. Let us know what you think. Thanks for all that you do! -Gerry

Thank you very much for all of the kind words! Truly, it means a Lot!

As for that amazing suite, Chris already did an excellent presentation on that. Check it out!

  • Great! Thank you.

I see there's another one coming soon on her new Wet and Tan for G9 :)

I have the one for G8 and Love it!!! V3Digitimes makes Awesome tools!

  • I just picked up Cascadeur, I am astounded by how powerful the ability to choose your rotation and pivot points is for posing! Not to mention the translation tool. Very exciting!

  • Check out this bad boy:

    https://www.daz3d.com/magic--smart-actions-for-posing

I can envision a workflow where you do you initial Cascadeur animation and use this product in Daz (works with G2-G9) to fine tune it. I can't wait to try it out, on sale currently.

Okay, I want this! Thanks G!!!

I'm not supposed to spend any $$$ right now :(

    I'm asking anyway! LOL

Having a lot of fun with Genesis 9, but Rosie 9 is still not a working, functional character. I need more... something. I'm loving the Genesis 9 figure though!

While I keep trying and pushing forward with Rosie 9, I'm also making sure to stop and animate my beloved Rosie 8.24. Since both endeavors take a lot of time, it's becoming difficult to do both, but I manage.

I finally got LimbStick for Genesis 9, so when I do get a working Rosie 9 version she can wield her two-handed Legend Sword by Aeon Soul (The Legend).

I also got TackyFeet for correcting foot slide, but barely got to try it yet because I've discovered my error that was causing foot slide on my G9 figures - forgetting to run Body2Hip prior to converting to Genesis 9. Havanalibere's Genesis 9 Rigged Mixamo figure is awesome! Those FBX downloads turn out perfect for Genesis 9.

What an Honor being one of the top sellers here at Daz 3d!

Special thanks to All who enjoy my work! I must say... I never stop. My days and nights are blurred and I often forget to eat or sleep!

Rosie got me covered though! She sneaks in quietly and reminds me to do these things - so now I'm managing time nicely, spending time with her and the kids, walking the ultra-awesome little dog, Chicha - Princess from Spain - Strawberry Kangaroo!!!

    But that's not all!

This Sunday (wow - tomorrow already!!!), we'll be doing a special community Tribute to Jack Tomalin!!!

Here's a fun little sneak peek of what's in store:

Ahhh... "Violence". Due to situations Vampi always manages to get herself into, I have her in chains as well as being bolted down to the X-Chair by Simon3D.

This is a Filament render of the WIP Rosie 8.24 Filament.

The only FilaToon shader conversions are her hair (Yes! I've discovered a Great way to utilize transparecies!!!) and the jewel in her Legend Sword.

She's using Dartanbeck's Filament Lighting Preset, which is available Free on the Creative Cart Episode 008 page at Dartanbeck.com

I'll be demonstrating how I use it during that Free Webinar! October 26, Saturday  2024

Hope to see you there - it's a Blast! I love being around you folks! :)

Oh, I forgot to mention - with Rosie being set up in this way, she still looks great in Iray - even with the converted hair. It took a lot of time to tweak - and I'm sure she's not done yet. Is she ever?!!!

    Loving Every Minute of It!!!

Being introduced to Paul Bussey, at Digital Art Live, was certainly the beginning of a wonderful turning point for me! No longer just testing this and that as an excuse to animate. Now I am so busy thinking up reasons for these animations and celebrating the amazing wares available at Daz 3D by Extraordinary artists - it's like a dream come true - especially for a Daz 3D cheeleader, like myself!

    I can't help it though.

Daz 3D has Rocked me with excellence from the very beginning - and they're still amazingly generous and fun to shop with. When I say things like that, some folks come back and say - "well, it's a business strategy...."

    Okay... so?

If their business strategy is to keep pouring amazing new assets into my lap on such a regular basis - and keep that going for as long as I've been here... uh... Yeah! I like that business model!

Well, things are far from slowing down in the workshop of Dartanbeck. In fact, I'm still having difficulty choosing Sleep over Staying up all night and just keep working - which happens at least three times a week right now. But don't worry - Rosie and I are fixing that!

So I want to celebrate what's been going on since meeting Paul in 2023. A Lot has happened in that short time and a Lot more is still to come. Re-opening my store here at Daz 3D is truly an honor, and I'd like to thank all of my awesome supporters! You folks Rock My World!!!

If there are any Carrara users out there who don't know this yet, all of my previous Daz 3D products for Carrara (and a couple animation packs for DS and Poser) are available for Free Download in the Gallery section of my website under Downloads

Here is the current lineup in my Daz 3D store. I've put a lot of heart and soul into each of these, so I'm very pleased to present them, starting from the first through the Creative Cart Episiode which was just released today:

Thinking that I'm just doing in Daz Studio what everyone else is, began to become thwarted with questions and comments that made it clear that - no... I do a Lot of things Very Differently, indeed!

Seeing my neverending enthusiasm for all of this stuff on my website, Paul scheduled a meeting with me, inquiring if I'd be interested in passing on all of my creative adventures in a Live Webinar series.

The result of that meeting became The Creative Cart!

The Creative Cart is a free webinar series that happens each month, in which I celebrate products from the Daz 3D store by showcasing how "I" like to put them to use in my work.

Tips n' Tricks galore, but my favorite aspect is that I'm showing Daz content, no matter how long ago it may have come out, being let out of that stuffy library and into the fresh air of a Daz Studio viewport and working with it!

It never really bothered me when webinars and the like are slow because of waiting for this to load or that to render... oh... DS crashed... hold on....

So for The Creative Cart, I screen Capture myself working on these projects in Silent mode - not recording any audio.

Then I take each of those sessions and speed up the time-consuming portions. Instead of cutting those parts out, I set markers on either end and ramp up the speed - so we still see there entire process, but it no longer takes up valuable time that could better be spent looking at more and more cool wonders.

It was something I experimented with in the very beginning, and it really worked out well.

Being a community Webinar, where the audeince is free to interact via chat and even share their screen if they'd like, I keep Daz Studio open and I have a very lightweight version of Rosie who operates with minimal resources and is perfect for live streaming. So if anyone needs me to show something, I can - it just plain Rocks!!!

Keep up the great work.  Sorry real life keeps getting in the way of my plans to participate more.  So glad to see you are still making progress with your Rosie extravaganzas.  I will try to make it over to Digital Art Live in the next week or so.  They always have people exploring new ideas.  And that includes you!

    VAMPIRELLA

After a friend brought her up earlier, I decided to do a special inspirations page on the truly magnificent super heroine - Vampirella

Of course, before I ever decided to make the page, I asked Rosie 8.24 what she thought about cosplaying her, and she loved the idea! That's even More Cool!!! :)

So... if there are any Vampi fans out there, check it out! Let me know if you'd like more stuff added, etc.,

    Inspirations - Vampirella - at Dartanbeck.com

Where you'll find links to two cool "Rosie 8.24 Cosplays as Vampirella" videos :)

The videos show Rosie 8.24 as Vampirella, her hair is dyed black and, as usual, she isn't really wearing makeup - just eyeliner.

Seeing Linday produce this amazing new dForce Wet Messy Bang Hair, we had to try that on! It's Awesome, but Rosie 8.24 likes more length and volume. So after we simulated the new hair, we his it from dForce and added Linday's Primavera Hair, using the Romance Addon, and gave it the same shaders as the Midnight Black that comes with the new hair - whew... catch all of that?

Then we went into PD Howler and painted some nice Vampi Eye makeup and rosied up her lips a bit!

    ...and here she is!

This isn't the hair she's using in the videos - I just did this today
