This is great Luci! I love the action with all the Kuril kids. That nanny is going to have grey hair before long!

Tarini Kivi and Totte, thank you a lot! This way I will be able to include a more varied environment, because some of the plants I lack have been rendered as stock images by people who have them :). Off to work!

    The Trans Siberian Railroad trip
Joyce decided that she and her daughter Emma needed som Mother and Daughter time together so she bough two tickets for the Trans Siberian Railroad. It was not really what they had hoped for, endless days through forests or open fields, and in their coach was this Russian gangster type smoking cigars even though it clearly said no smoking, The only really interesting event was when they passed through an area where a large group of people were doing a reenactment of the battles of the Soviet Revolution in 1917. That tank was huge and the people running really looked scared for real.

Nice one, Totte; looks like a really fun trip. I love the up close and personal feel, can almost smell the cigar smoke. Yuk. %-P

Thanks, Totte, Tarina Kivi, emsim and Jaderail.

I wasn't happy with the lighting (and a few other little things) in my first one, so I am replacing it with a re-render. I used AoA Ambient light this time and I am happier with it than the UE in the first one. I've been having trouble with the AoA light with some surfaces so I had decided not to use it. But then when I tried it for this it worked OK. I'm leaving the first one up for comparison, but posting the second one to the entries thread.

    Pull #2:
    The Sentinels of the Forest
    Slime Beast
    Rons Concrete and Texture Brushes
    Petrels
Capable for the Hooded Cloak Pack

No theme this month?! Oh, boy -- this could get interesting. Here's my first pull:

    4941 P3D Margret by P3Design (RR)
5774 Rubble 3: Modern Ruins by Stonemason (DAZ)
2038 Earth Breaker by AlfaSeed (DNA)
5455 Red Sands Temple by Larsen (DAZ)

I couldn't find the funny in this pull, grr. There was just too much drama in there, begging to get out. I mean, come on... Stonemason AND AerySoul/AlfaSeed/AeonSoul (or whatever they're going by these days) in ONE PULL? Throw in a gritty, tattooed P3Design gal and that awesome Red Sands Temple... Yeah. Funny didn't stand a chance. Hoping for comedy in the next pull!

    Title: A Memory of Honor

Rendered in DS 4.6, minor postwork in Photoshop.

Eras of light and epochs of darkness had all passed over this sacred ground. Protecting the shattered ruins of The Temple was both her birthright and her duty. The end of the world was undoubtedly drawing near, but she would not flinch at its approach. Instead, she would serve. The devils would be slithering to The Temple within a fortnight, but she would remain in this spot, grimly determined to spit in their eyes as they attacked. She served with honor. She served the memories of her ancestors. And, more than anything else, she knew that her own service would soon be little more than yet another memory of honor...

Also used: Jungle Ruins - vines (Stonemason), DM Dark Shrine - daggers (Danie, marforno), Cat Hair (Valea), Corvena Jewelry (Silver, DemonicaEvilius), Sylvanna for Genesis - pose (Orion1167), Advanced ambient and spotlights (Age of Armour).

    Okay, next pull...

6118 - Shades of Life - Urban Construct - Part 2 (DimensionTheory), DAZ
    439 - Archeress (lunchlady), RR
622 - Bambi for Giselle 6, (Fisty, Sabby), DAZ
4099 - Magic for Carnival Entrance (Sarsa), DAZ

Woot! I haven't had a chance to play with Giselle yet. This will be fun! I should be able to use PoseMaster to apply the v4 poses to her. Yay!

Looks like the contest is off to a great start:
@Luci45 "Fairy Nanny" - nice one, I love the frisky poses for the Kurils, and that nanny is really earning her pay packet!
@Totte "Trans Siberian Railroad Trip" - that is one giant machine outside (I had to go to the product page to see it and believe it was real!) and that cigar smoke really gets to the throat.
@KaribousBoutique "A Memory of Honor" - beautiful render - maybe the subject matter is dark, but the result is lovely.

@ Totte: Nicely done! Really makes you feel like you're in the cabin with this group (and glad that you're not! :) ) And that tank is huge!

@ KaribousBoutique: I like funny too but this is awesome! I wouldn't mess with her.

I've started on my first one - it'll probably be strange but I can live with that. :cheese:

My first draw gave the following items:
99: http://www.daz3d.com/kimberly-for-genesis-complete (I used Kimberly as the morph and texture, her haircut and the light; however, the pose seemed to require some tweaking, so I did change it)
    100: http://www.daz3d.com/magus
    47: http://www.daz3d.com/kids-4-basicwear
46: http://www.daz3d.com/daz-piglet (I think using just the figure, its texture and a tweaked pose is okay, if not, please tell me)

So I tried to make a funny render. Its title is (drums)... LET THEM BURN.

...Because a kickass heroine like Kimberly knows well in America, a superhero needs three things:
    1) a stupid name (this one is fulfilled by the piglet AKA DynamoPig),
    2) a loyal sidekick stealing the show,
    3) bombs going off immediately after leaving the scene!

As I don't have Stonemason's Urban Ruins, I took advantage of fellow stock providers from DA and heavily edited their stocks. Here is the outcome (bear in mind it's not meant to be realistic, just toony). Thank you so much guys! The title is inspired by a funny parody of a certain Disney film I love to hate after a friend showed it to me. I hope it is not too... troubling... for the site.

    Bomb blast effect by FrostBo
    Background buildings by cgartiste
    Ruined walls by Free-Stock-By-Wayne
Gravel texture by Thierry Hoff of CG-Textures
Trees by Jumpfer-Stock and Cheyenne75 (deactivated, but dear to us)

Off to a roaring start in every way!

@cecilia.robinson: Those two are fun! Vibrant feel and I love their expressions. Funny? Mission accomplished!
@KaribousBoutique: Well, the comedy can wait... she's fantastic and works perfectly with the story.
@Totte: Great perspective, I feel like I'm in there with Joyce and Emma... and like them I'm thinking "Let me out!" Got to feel for them, thugs on one side, humungous tank on the other... nice storytelling.
@Luci: always a class act, thanks for getting us off to an elegant but amusing start with your fairy nanny.

I'll make a fresh post with mine below...

    First pull is as follows:

338 Day Dreamer for Genesis (DAZ)
353 SBRM Flock Formations (formerly DAZ, now Hivewire3d)
    90 Action Kicker Boots (DAZ)
38 Sci Fi Siren Outfit for Genesis 2 Female (DAZ)

This is a double render as I wanted to do a 'then and now' -- so to make it fair I used the 4 pull items in both scenes. But if a double scene is not allowed, give me a nudge and I'll change this to be a non-entry.

    Title: The Gulls are Peckish

Jesse: Ah ha, another scurvy wench! Time to walk the plank and be pecked to death by killer seagulls! Arrr...

Riley: But she could be a pi.. a piwate too.

Jesse: You're so dumb, Riley. I mean, c'mon, how's she gonna climb the rigging in those stupid shoes! Anyhow, I'm Captain and I don't want no dumb pirate wenches on my ship. Arrr. The killer seagulls await.

15 years later, at a 'Space Pirate' theme lagoon party

    Jesse: Oooh, space pirate wenches...

Riley: (Under her breath:) Oopsie! (Followed by a shout:) Watch out for those gulls, they look peckish!

Many thanks Totte, good to know all is OK!

@Tarina Kivi -- I like the way you read these images! I hadn't thought of that. You also reminded me of an 'oopsie' of my own -- I need to add a credit for smay's 220 Emotions for those kids' expressions.

@cecilia.robinson -- thanks for the vote of confidence! :) Glad you enjoyed it (and I love your Kimberley, she's full of character). Just wanted to add a quick note about the dolls. G2F (or Olympia here, I think) make great dolls with very little work, just scale them down and then the rest is just posing. I'd be happy to share pose presets for the 2 here if you want them.

Despite its loathsome appearance, Slimeon the Slimebeast is well-beloved among the forest -dwelling Hooteroops for its wisdom and prophetic powers. When it makes a rare appearance in the Stillwood Swamp the brightest of the maidens is sent to converse with it, in hopes of obtaining guidance for the tribe.

I used the Rons Concrete and Texture Brushes to make a mossy texture on the Ruins pieces. It felt kind of weird adding to Stonemason's texture maps, since they are so awesome. But nothing is sacred in the RRRR. %-P

I used Giselle again. I wan't even going to buy her, but ended up getting the base figure, and, well, she is pretty cute. I added some horns and a little Hobgoblin morph to her face to make her a little bit fierce looking, but it doesn't show up from that far away.

    pulled:
    The Sentinels of the Forest
    Slime Beast
    Rons Concrete and Texture Brushes
    Petrels
Capable for the Hooded Cloak Pack

    Also used:

Man, I cannot believe it's been five days (and four pages) before I even knew about the latest incarnation of the RRRR! (I have been seriously out of the loop lately!)

    Well, no more!

I've already informed Totte (via PM) that I'm in on the prize pool, and now it's time to get in on the fun!

And for my first draw (drum-roll, please.... Seriously, people, do I actually have to wave my baton?)

32 - Vignettes for Classic Deco
    394 - Isolde 2
    231 - Neo for David 5
    68 - What a Cutie! Expressions for Stephanie 6

Okay, this is just plain freakin' weird! But, you gotta play the hand you're dealt, so....

    (It's still weird, though!)
