KaribousBoutique #2 Beautiful render. I love the people all running for cover. I'm glad " the funny came back." I guess that means no serious injuries.
No injuries! Just a few arrows in the cotton candy. It occurred to me (after the fact) that posting a mass-fairy-shooting image may have been in poor taste, considering the events of the last few weeks. I hope everyone knows it was meant to be a humorous look at the dark side of faries, and not satire or political commentary!!

KaribousBoutique #1 Yes, pretty serious indeed. She looks like she can handle those knives pretty well. Too bad DAZ didn't offer a little more thigh protection. Devils can be nasty biters.

This could be a chronic problem. All of my renders this month have (so far) featured armed women, and none of them have appropriate thigh PPE (personal protective equipment.) Perhaps I should contact OSHA and have them address this issue with content artists...

    And now for pull #3...
6001 Science Fiction Pistols (Valandar) - DAZ
4331 Midsummer Night Dream Hair (Valea) - DAZ
    3145 Hero's Refuge (marforno) - RR
    1121 Chess MASTER (ironman13, Fugazi1968) - RR

Also used Lemonade and AMP - C-Suit by Aeonsoul. Rendered in Poser Pro 2014, postwork in Photoshop CS6.

    Pull #3
2464 Fantasy Fusion (Rhiannon) - DAZ
6942 Textures for Epiphany Gown (Sarsa) - DAZ
1796 DM's Adventures in Grobland (Danie, marforno, Abraham) - RR
    1235 Collectibles: Tea Set (3-DArena) - DNA/RR

Okay, I know I've been at this too long when a random pull of 4 things yields one item that is discontinued and another which has migrated to another store. I should probably have realized the whole "at this too long" when I began needing to google the stuff I'd pulled in order to remember what it looked like.

This pull seems far too easy. The chess set/horned hair/scifi weapon/Greek-inspired architecture thing was much more brain-stretching!

That's why I limit my "pull pool" to DAZ products; about 98% of my content came from DAZ anyway, so it's not like I'm limiting myself!

And, I can do a search on what I pull, to answer those inevitable "What the hell is that!?" questions that I always have when I pull something I haven't used (or even seen) since I bought it! ;-P

I sometimes think I should go through my list and eliminate all the products I CAN recognize by name. That way, I will always use one of those "things I haven't used (or even seen) since I bought it" items!

Ugh. Boring and predictable -- Not-Quite-Naked Vickies In A Temple With A Teacup. And hey, look at that. Woman with weapon and no thigh PPE. This really is a frightening trend.

Also used Dragonkeeper hair (Arki) and Branwyn Hair (Valea.) Rendered in Poser Pro 2014, which was annoying me because every time I'd add an item with a transparency map, the item would show up invisible in the preview until I reloaded the textures. Postwork in Photoshop CS6. Okay, so anyway...

Title: Keepers of the Holy Teacup

A long time ago, in a galaxy without thousands of Seattle-based coffee shops, the devoted clerics of Oolong keep vigil over the Divine Oracle of Wedgwood.

    Next pull:
8006 Woodland Props - Tree Trunk and Ivy (kromekat), DAZ
3155 Heidi Hair for V4 - (Littlefox), DNA
    5898 Sabby-Charisma for Genesis 2 Female(s) (Sabby), RR
3118 Havoc - Anime Series Chapter 2 (kaleya), RR

Ha. Look at that. I managed to pull a rare discontinued DAZ product. But still too easy. Girl, hair, clothes, prop. Boo!!

Haven't done one of these contests in ages. I think I barely had 100 items last time I did. Though my collection is still small compared to a lot of people, I think it's big enough to give some more variety now, so I think it's time to try again. :)

    My items:

459: Mrs. Scrubbs Bathing Parlor (What? I don't even remember buying that.)
    598: Scifi Bunny for Genesis
71: Casual Jeans and T-shirt for Genesis Female
    517: Parkside Tube Station

Ok, this is going to be difficult. And weird, I think.

And no worries, Weird and difficult is what it's all about here! :D

The more I pondered this, the more I realized I needed more of a challenge. So, for no reason other than I want to, I'm adding 4 more items to the mix. Because otherwise, I'll have yet another woman with some kind of weapon, limited thigh protection, and nice hair, standing in a predictable environment. Which, really, is 99% of my NORMAL renders, so where's the fun in that? And the best creative moments I had in the last year involved writing Seuss-style poetry that correlated to pictures with swinging cages, romantic poses, and a scifi landing pad.

So, with that, the other items I'll be using in image #4 are...

    6994 The Beast Beneath - (coflek-gnorg), RR
    3256 Hongyu's Hair 2010 - (Hongyu), RR
    1972 Dream Home : Master Bedroom - (DAZ3D), DAZ
2145 Elemental Shrine - (Forbidden Whispers, FWDesign), RR

    That's better. :)

I've also realized that I have no life, because it's a beautiful weekend, and all the rest of you are enjoying the time off, while I talk to myself here, dominating the thread, lol. Well, I'm off to render, so I shall be quiet for at least several hours!

How do you prepare yourself for play?

The rules are very simple, but first you need to have all your items in some kind of order in a text file, dumped from the itemized history into a text file or a spread sheet. Remove things like software, gift certs, and special plugins from the list.
Then you use a randomizer to randomly pick 4 items from your list (your Runtime/My Library). You can use items from any store.

How do I get an itemized history? When I first started using Studio I could go into my purchases and get an itemized purchase history.......that option is no where to be found in my account info nowadays.......any suggestions?

The DIM can export a .csv, (comma separated value list) which can be opened in any spreadsheet program or even a text editor, I suppose. Go to your "installed" tab, click the little "products" box that selects everything, then right-click and select "export selected to csv." If you want to open it in excel, you'll have to change the little pull-down menu from beside the "file name" box from "all excel files" to "all files."

EDIT: You do still have a list of all your items in your account, but it's now separated into pages. It's under the "product library" tab, which you will see if you're in your account. You could, I suppose, manually copy and paste your items this way, but you'd have to manually go through each page, copying-and-pasting.

EDIT#2: If you've never used the DIM, it's still worth installing, just for the export .csv function. You can click the "products" box in the "ready to download" tab and export a separate list of all the files you HAVEN'T installed with the DIM. I did this the first time I used the DIM because, obviously, I've been installing stuff loooooooong before the DIM was around so, inside the DIM, I just downloaded the list and then hid everything that I'd previously installed manually. Now I only see my new purchases when I want to download, and I can periodically select my new purchases from the "installed" tab to add to my database. Other sites make this process MUCH more labor intensive. RDNA has a neat little order history screen, but RR makes you copy them order-by-order, which took me about a week to do the first time!

    910 - Toon Christmas

Well, inspiration didn't actually strike - more like it puttered a bit. I'm not even sure if this makes any sense but I managed to get all of these items in a render. Rendered in Carrara 8.1, no postwork.

Also used: Mage Tower, Crazy Locks Male Hair, Wonderland Mad Hatter for M4, The Hatter, Leon the Toon Deer (PA xmas freebie), Joie de Vivre Poses, Yuletide Treasures (the candy cane only) & Jepes CosmicZ.

@HastyDave, "Vampire Hunter" is lovely! Everything fits, even though the asylum-like interior sounded difficult to me in comparison to the rest. Maybe Dracula wanted to take a tour around Europe or something, who knows.

@Fobok1, I sense a quirky story there! I won't comment on who could have surprised the old lady in order not to move dangerously close to violating the TOS, but I think I got it ...

@Emsim: I like the items you put together. The book's cover has such a delightful shader by the way!

Aave, I buy too much stuff to bother with updating my products lists- I'd go nuts- so I just use the Product Library- there's 40 items on a page, use the Randomizer to get the numbers, then take it from there. For example, with 40 items on the page, if I drew number 86, I'd just do 86 divided by 40 is 2 so that would be page 2. That only equals 80 so it is on the next page (page 3) and I need 6 more. So page 3, number 6. Easy and fast. And since bundles are listed in the Product Library, you have the same chances as everyone else of drawing one. Hope this helps.

Every so often, I go into my Product Library and just copy-and-paste each page's listings (as Novica mentioned, there are forty items per page, and I'm now up to page 72 - holy crap, I have a lot of stuff!) into a spreadsheet. If I'm feeling particularly diligent (which is rare), I'll do a similar copy-and-paste after I make several purchases, in an attempt to keep my inventory up-to-date.

I think most of us have discovered that there really is no "painless" way to maintain an accurate inventory of our content. I wish there was; with some 200 GB of content, scattered across ten runtimes, I honestly do not know where half of my content is! (Hell, I don't know what half of it is!)

Very interesting to have predetermined items, Ive rendered the Alruna outfit before for Drow characters, I dont think Ive used DragonLord before. Tropical cave Ive never used in this way. Having a set character I think sealed the deal for me. It's rare for me to use characters as is, and he turned out pretty nice, it did help that the character offered a whole bundle of looks too! The only morphs I used where required M5 and JohanM5, it is Johans textures, I updated the surfaces though.

For this render I pretty quickly decided I wanted to play with scale and do something cinematic. Ive always wanted to make a big statue and well, it tied in XD This was a good break from my other projects I must say :)

The entry thread is for the jury's convenience when it comes to judging the works. Instead of hunting down each render in the big thread here, they only examine the entry thread.
