    Awesome HW!!! Very cool render!

Bunyip, that Evolution is using Mec4D's Evolution textures on Genesis, perhaps? Looks great regardless!

I'm loving everything I've seen in here so far! Great job everyone!

Thanks - Shaders on Genesis are from Darwin the Toon Chimp - https://www.daz3d.com/darwin-the-toon-chimp

Darwin has a custom UV, so I loaded him in DAZ Studio and saved as a Character Preset and opened that in Carrara.

Still hoping you get time to join in !

No extra scene from me today, been working on a DAZ Studio scene in Carrara, all of it's items are grouped together which is making life difficult, nearly given up on it several times now....

Thanks Dart, tried it but it didn't work. All of the objects in the scene are together on the one layer, only thing that is different are the UVs. Found a solution that works, but due to the size of the scene it's slow work !

Toon Croc WIP-1 - Not an entry

Had a few problems with this scene. Base scenery is a DAZ Studio scene that is all one object with just the UVs different.

Next when I loaded it into Carrara all of the leaves/branches loaded without transperancy maps, when I loaded them the leaves on all the trees turned invisible regardless of what I did.

Tried deleting the troubled trees in the model room but due to the size of the scene it was taking forever, then decided to turn the maps for the trees invisible.

    1. The offending scene

    2. The tree vegetation shaders worked on

    3. Kept the transperancy map in the Alpha channel just in case it was needed for a possible fix, went down to Operators and clicked on Multiply. For source 2 I clicked on Value (0-100%) and left the value at 0.

Next issue was that I wanted to use a Surface Replicator to add some trees to the scene, since there was no individual Terrain layer I had to obtain it from the combined object.

Opened the scene in DAZ Studio and exported it as an obj in Carrara units, next I opened that obj in Silo.

Using the Grow Selection command in Silo I picked the Terrain base

Once picked I copied and pasted the Terrain, deleted the original combined obj, then exported the Terrain obj for use in Carrara.

After loaded the Terrain obj into Carrara with AutoPosition and AutoScale turned off, loaded a Surface Replicator into the scene

    1. Chose the Terrain obj

    2. Added a tree

    3. Set the number of trees, however, down the bottom of the screen I got fewer

    4. Adjusted Rotation

    5. Adjusted scale

    6. Unticked Align object to normal

    7. Adjusted distance

    8. Ticked Use Shader

    9. Clicked on Edit Shader

    10. Needed to load a texture Map

    11. Located and loaded the Map

After doing a Test Render, took the render into Topaz Adjust

    Final Image

Bummer. Sorry. Yeah, some DUF scenes I just give up on. I haven't been returning them, just giving up until the day I decide to try them in DS - as much as I do jump into DS, I still never work that way - as a render studio.

The animation I was working on made me think of this thread, but alas... I remember that folks don't really care for Dart and Rosie renders around these parts - so I digress. I'll think of something before this is done, perhaps! ;)

    who said that?

I love your renders, always have

I am just not fond of tutorials by anyone

I only watch ones when I really need to find out something, yours are good BTW but they are still tutorials

I utterly love your actual render videos! heart

    Jack Kirby Tribute

The background is Urban Sprawl rendered in the Carrara Non-Photorealistic render engine.  Jack could do amazingly detailed foreground images, but he often left the background sketchy.  I wanted a sketchier look.

After loading the background onto a plane, I added the characters, which are Genesis (Hulk), F4 (The Thing), V4, K4, and M3 (the cops).  The police car is a Carrara native object.  I made the caption, and tweaked a bunch of things in the modeling room.

The Thing is in a classic Jack Kirby pose.  Just copying the pose - by itself - was an education.

In the beginning, I wasn't sure that I could get The Thing rock texture to look how I wanted.  But the Carrara shader room astounded me.  I didn't have to import any maps.  The texture is all Carrara.  Toon 3 was used for outlines, and GMIC (within Carrara) provided some basic image controls.

    No postwork.

awesome... your fav settings & style certainly shine yes

I fiddled around with ChickenMan Lorenzo again with textures for his chicken supersuit and different set up using mmoirs city background and some free stuff from mortemvetus from RDNA when it was there.

Would love to get Howie's Ultra Scenery converting to Carrara, but the potential size of the files (if it is practical to do so) has me going EEEEK !!!!
