Is there anything documented about these Scripted 3Delight options? Nothing in the manual, nothing in the online help... I really don't know what I'm doing here, except when I tweak some things the render either gets better or doesn't. :-/

There are a couple of sample scripts relating to scripted rendering http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/start

Interesting, but not what I was after — when you select "Scripted 3Delight" there are three existing presets, I'm interested in the "Point-Based Occlusion" one but I have no idea how to use it, or how it works (if it does) with a scene's existing lighting setup. There's no documentation anywhere that I've found, apart from the broad hints at the link Kerya posted. And that's on the 3Delight site; the D|S options in the Render Settings tab are apparently specific to D|S. I might be misunderstanding what's going on in there, but all I know for sure is that right now I'm stuck.

    I'm a painter type of artist and a technician a distant 2nd.
I'm sure others have much more refined settings than these, although maybe you can find them useful.
Here's a shot of some of the settings I used in DS.
I really prefer Poser for all my renders, though I've been using it since version 2.

There is a fair bit of discussion here http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/21611/

Just bought it and after spending some time with the ridiculous DSON converter so that I could use it in Poser, I've been having a ball with it. I do have a couple of complaints however,
-Please!...oh puh-lease make your stuff Poser compatible out of the box. Take a suggestion from folks like Jack Tomalin who's products come with Poser files.
-include a text file with a link to this forum and/or your email address. There is no link from your name (the-management) to any way to contact you. I hope that this is just an oversite.
I won't repeat what's already been said. This is some excellent modeling and well worth the money (despite having to fight with the conversion). I'd like to suggest that now that you have the model, how about a version that depicts it in it's heyday, ie: in good repair, before it fell into decay. I've noticed that many artists have two versions of their architecture.
    Thanks a bunch.

You will never find something like this at Daz3d.
Here, you don't contact the vendor (you may or may not find them in the forums), you contact Daz3d directly through the Help / Contact Us in case of problems.

See the little box on the left that says "PM"? That is the private message system for the web site and you can always try and contact PA's with that. That said, DAZ does the support for products sold here.

Thanks, but PM only works if you know who the person is.
While the artist is in the forums as 'Itchy' the product was released as 'the-management' and no link existed between the two. There was no PM option anywhere on the product page and I had to resort to leaving a post on the feedback forum. I heard nothing for a week until I got a little short with Daz in general and an administrator provided a pointer to this forum.
I wish that content creators would make it easy (and obvious) to contact them. As a customer I always give feedback regarding the stuff I buy. I consider it a courtesy to at least say thanks for the hundreds of hours they put into the product. Most include a text file in the content folder with information and the all important email address. I'd like to encourage Itchy to also do so.

Not at this brokerage. I know at other brokerages the content creators are expected to do the support for products so customers need to contact them about any and all issues. They are expected to include email addresses as part of the product information. Here the support is done by DAZ. Not that PA's are unwilling to be contacted just that part of what we expect from DAZ is that support for products and because of that our emails are not included as part of the products.

Hi bobbbjmbnklbhjklbgjkh. (I hope you don't have to remember the spelling on that user name.) :)
Glad you have been liking HOB Ravenskull. DSON importer was mentioned only for getting it into DS 3 or earlier (I've never used DSON so I don't know it's capabilities).
The entire product is totally Poser ready, was first made in Poser 7 and will work fine as is in version7-2014. So forget the DSON and just load it up in Poser!
As for my user name itchy...I have been using it for years and I also have a user under the Management but keep forgetting to switch and use it instead. lol. Didn't mean to be dodging anything. I had a readme file with notes for working with HOB in the readme folder but DAZ took it out. Not sure why.
As for a 'In good repair version', all I can say right now is maybe, I need to get a few environment ideas made into reality first.
I do have a HOB addon that is 99% done. Some of the shots on this post are from it.
    Thanks for purchasing!

    One click and it's in!

Ravenskull Staircase and Ravenskull Exterior are on sale now.

Starting work on something new now.

The staircase says it requires the exterior - how dependent is it, if using it for interior shots only?

  • The ManagementThe Management Posts: 224

Only one interior preset has an exterior wall. You can ignore the warning that comes up. ( I thought we had fixed that in PASS but guess not)
Both add-ons only require Ravenskull Court.
