There hasn't been anything new for either M6 or Genesis since Zachariah - and that feels like ages ago!

Joe quicks outfit was a few days ago. Right? The hair product qualifies as well as the male character. I don't think the guy is totally suffering.

I've picked up a lot of older stuff in the m4 v4 sale, but I admit it would be awesome if there were male counterparts to some of the clothing sets being released these days. I like some of the womens wear but it looks odd to only have clothing in a certain style for women.

The way things go these days, most of the guy stuff tends to get clustered in clumps around the release of a new male figure. Gianni was two months ago, so that probably cleared out a lot of the items most PAs had stored up. With Giselle last month and Aiko 6 this month, I'm expecting that the next male figure will be coming up in the next few months, as Hiro 6 would make a logical companion to those.

I would expect that the Daz and PA clothing makers are focused on new clothes and refits for Aiko 6.

I got some nice M4/Genesis clothing. I'm a big fan of everyday clothing for all figures. I'm also a big fan of medieval style clothing. The store has plenty of that but serious lacks in the everyday clothing. Male stuff doesn't seem to sell as good as female stuff does which is why I'd would assume why there is triple the amount of stuff for the female figure. There are some good male characters but lack clothing.

there's a pre-uv'd merchant resource of V6 clothes in the store. None for M6. but supposedly, autofit could convert to M6 size. might need to anti-stretch the uvs.

    Where is all the menswear?

The answer is easy: in the washing machine. Very refreshing after "guys' stuff cannot sell well".

Here is some quick numbers crunching.

There are 427 clothing items in the store for G2F and 120 for G2M.

Of the clothes for G2F, 127 are Daz Originals, 300 Published Artists. Of the clothes for G2M, 39 are Daz Originals, 81 Published Artists.

So that breaks down to 70% of the G2F clothes and 67.5% of the G2M clothes are made by Published Artists. So when it comes to men, Daz is trying to fill the void.

Published Artists are just that, artists. They do what inspires them, not just what sells. Statistically, they find the female figures more inspiring.

Daz Originals are mostly made by Published Artists. Daz buys the items from the Published Artists to sell as Daz Originals in the Pro Packs etc.

I get that - straight up commissions.

I'd compare it to someone who works in advertising and has to create an image for a client. They are going to be professional and put their best into it. But is the client's subject their passion? what inspires them? probably not.

The other factor is that men's clothing is harder to make (if you're making it good).

Yeah, that's the usual response. I hate to be the one to say it but one factor in that is a lot of the guy stuff looks terrible. Weird hair cuts and ugly faces :(

I save my money for the really high quality work, and it shows up now and then for the guys.

    But not nearly often enough.

Makes sense to me since I am rarely inspired by the male form, LOL.
I wish they would make more male clothes just so i wouldn't have to see images of males in female clothes, oh my eyes!!!

Wait!!! Are you counting the items in the DAZ store or the items in the closets here? :) I think you've been in my closets actually although the male count might be a bit too high.

Yeah, one has to scour all the stores to get a decent male-figure wardrobe together, while one can get away with buying a decent female-figure wardrobe just at DAZ3D.
