the clothing layers do not colide with each other they go with the harmony following each other , I am doing always custom weight maps and also sometimes gravity JMC's for the clothing

I could not sleep lat night thinking about the hand tissue.. and what best placement would be to make it effective .. with head it does go just with 1 direction on the same time , the hand can be ben in any position , arms up or down so that will be little bit of thinking today ..
with the sleeves is much easy but in my case the sleeves are not satin to fall down , they are more static kind of fabric in the outfit and more heavy ..so they need to keep the form the way it is .. I guess we will find out soon with the hand tissue and how it perform :)

The issue with reverse deformation JCMs in a prop is that they'll get entirely mis-tipped too easily: I tried this once with a bottle of liquid, and if it was parented to a hand, the hand rotations didn't do (obviously) what the arm rotations, or the bottle rotations, did. Either one has to link the ERC to every affecting axis, risking an overcompensation when multiple axes are turned together, or use IK and a rotation handle to make it more-or-less world-based. If you can make the morph work, no matter which axis tilts the head, more power to you for it.

Probably easier to do with an item attached to the head than the hand, but we'll find out when she gets to the hand tissue! (It would be really wonderful if this method would work on draping the sleeves...)

I'd be more worried about how to keep those clothing layers from colliding!

I have Chinese historical drama music stuck in my head now. ;)

I made separate morph for each XZ axis .. so bend ( negative-positive ) and side side , you can have just 2 combination at once bend + side-side and that works fine ..

Thanks Richard, I believe my work is obsessive as I forget about the world around me when I am doing it ..the time stops and nothing else mater .. but when I am off then I am off for real and hard to get back to routine again .. last night before sleep the last thing on my mind was questions about the hand tissue and when I woke up the first thing that come on my mind was the right answers .. 3D Psycho lol
but there was projects that I did not succeed at all ..it was to much of the technical side to accomplish as it always take longer than the modeling ..

I have absolutely zero need of clothing of this time period but I do have to say this set is looking good. I love the Gravity thing, and adding Male to the set really opens new possibilities. I will keep on watching as this goes. I find myself pleasantly surprised to this point.

The dress in those colours looks like precious jewels!
The shoes are cute (now I want them in real).

I am in all probability not getting the dress for realistic depictions - but I love fantasy!
    And I want it.
    Something for the females!
    YAY!

The dresses has all embroidered flowers and motives , and little heavy ..
since the Manchu come from North and cold climate for that reason so many clothing layers to keep them warm .
From West China to East of Europe all old fashion was full of embroidered flowers and flowers in the hair
The early China Dynasties has more light and balanced clothing
I wanna make one more from Wei and Jin Dynasty in the future ..

P.S I was not for plan to make the Manchu woman outfit but someone wished for ..
I need to make still the long fingers golden jewelry , hand tissue and earrings , I think the most busy outfit ever .. :)

But isn't this outfit based on a real outfit? It's gotta be, it looks familiar to me from my early days of reading about the various Asian dynasty's!

It is Richard , nobody said it is not ..other way no reason for me to make it just for fun ..

the fabric textures I am doing are from the original outfit of the last Manchu Empress Dowager Cixi

Amazing how what appears to be the most beautiful fantasy outfits are actually based on reality isn't it? Love the work on this as I do on all of your sets. You continue to raise the bar!

I too cannot see myself using this in my renders.........but.........I might have to buy it..........simply because it is amazing and beautiful. I would automatically have to get the male set as well.........so obsessive am I.......lol

Thanks Wendy and Aave Nainen .. sometimes you need little thing to get inspired into another direction as I did with this outfit .. I created long before the male outfit and then it inspired me for this one and want to make 5 min animation now when I am done .. but I think it is nice set for collection.. and maybe not needed for today but one day maybe ;)

    Ooopsi! Misunderstanding!
I was just saying I will (probably) use it in fantasy renders in answer to Jaderail's "I have absolutely zero need of clothing of this time period " ...

Thanks for clarifying. That's why I asked Cath as I could have sworn I've seen art work with similar styles of clothing and though 'Must be based heavily if not accurately on real clothing of that period" and then your post I was like "HUH?" lol

it is always like that, when you do fantasy then everyone want historical, when you do historical everyone want fantasy :)
however you can use it as you please! as it really no matter .. I want some dragon and the Empress Chinese fantasy scenes soon .. would look nicer in actual clothing than club or geisha dress :) hahah the fantasy become more realistic :)
