spuddy : both sunsets are beautiful, the first one has my preference.

Electro-Elvis - "Ruler of the Sunset" is a super idea - he looks like he's about to flick the sun back up to make it daytime again!

Spuddy - "catching the last rays" / "Meditation" - both lovely, but I think I prefer the first.
"Sunset Mountain" has good sunset-ty colours and a nice atmosphere.

adbc - "Summer Sunset" again has lovely sky colours and I like those trees, especially the ones in the centre and to the right.

adbc - very nice mood on your sunset.

spuddy - very realistic sunset over the mountains. I see that sort of clouds often at sunset when I look out of the window - though often there are also trails from aircrafts flying high over the mountains.

spuddy, MelanieL, Horo : thank you.

spuddy : difficult choice between you two renders. You are right about the mountains in "sunset mountain2", I prefer the sky on the first one. Both are very nicely done.

Spuddy: you have been very active. The first one with the lady I prefer, because of te great light through the clouds. For the others, I would chose at least one with spitfires, but cannot decide which one.

adbc: Very nice light on those trees, love it. Not so sure about the texture of the road. Or is that a stream?

I made a first entry. Used a terrain from Karanta and an Oasis I found at Renderosity from Chacornac. That resulted in the trees and the tent and the bushes. I also found some additional items from another tent freebie from Nergal. The camel is also a freebie. Hope nobody really notices that it is a stone camel. The sky is one of the HDRI enhanced skies by Horo (Warm and Cloudy) that I ever so slightly modified. I added a very weak distant light that only lights the oasis items to get a bit more whitish light on these. Preset textures for the terrain and the water.

    I call it "Desert sunset"

Thanks  Hansmar...yes into the sunset 3 will prob be my second entry...all the spitfire ones are the same except for putting slight errors right.. As this is a WIP thread the ones before  are what the spitfire one evolved from....IE liked the sky in one but liked the mountains better in 2 but found the composition a bit dull hence the spitfires which  originally were going to be one plane banking into a sunset set at an angle over a terrain but that didn't work out too well

Desert Sunset  A nice interesting scene I like the overall look
