So toxic it was once used as an insecticide.

There is very little that is not toxic at high enough levels. Caffeine can kill you and has regularly in recent years due to products with a higher level of content. There is a massive difference between the percentage of nicotine in pesticides and the amount of nicotine sold in the average bottle of e-liquid. Even the highest nicotine level is only 3.6 percent nicotine and that is before it is vaped which means that the amount that goes into the blood stream is even smaller. Most people are going to go with a far lower percentage and of those the majority will lower that permanently or discontinue nicotine all together.

Do a search for TrekkieGrrrl. She sells products, but also has many freebies. Terms of use are on the homepage. Morphing cig and pack found under Downloads>Morphing Props and is the last one on the first page. I haven't used it myself, so I don't have any renders to share.

Which is ironic since Australia actually approved a nicotine inhaler as a smoking cessation product.

That's right, I used to use one, still have one of the plastic covers that you put the module in. It's all to do with the wording of the law to sell nicotine products. The crazy thing is that if I owned one I can order the nicotine modules from overseas and that is OK.

    I know, insane isn't it?

Always look at who funds studies. Many medical studies especially are so horribly flawed as to be considered junk science.
I couldn't agree more. You'd be amazed at how many studies are funded by Big Pharma and Big Tobacco, who stand to lose billions if people stop smoking and switch to vaping.

On a good note, since I started vaping I get viruses about 1/4 as often, I haven't had a cold/flu turn into a bacterial infection (bronchitis) which used to happen for me about 1/2 the time, and my fingernails don't crack anymore.

Propylene glycol is used as the carrier in most medical inhalers, they also pump it through the air systems of a lot of hospitals to help prevent airborne infections.. and it's what makes smoke machines at concerts "smoke" without harming anyone. Vegetable glycerine is widely used in all sorts of things we ingest on a daily basis.

Big pharm has a huge stake in it. Not only would they lose out on the drugs for people who get ill they also are working like mad on nicotine based drugs. They really are not keen on people being able to treat themselves with something that costs $5 and cuts them out of millions of dollars on overpriced drugs based on the exact same thing. The money for the Alzheimer drugs alone will be huge and the the last I read they are really far along on producing those.

We hear all sorts of things that are skewed. I think the funniest is people who want to ban anything with formaldehyde because people who worked around high concentrations of it over a long period of time developed some irritation and sensitivities. They point out that it is found in cigaret smoke as an example of why it is so dangerous. All of that sounds quite logical until you realize that all wood (floors, furniture, burning logs) leach formaldehyde into the air. I'm sure they could stop that somehow..But what they really can't ban or stop is the fact that every human breath also has a small amount of formaldehyde in it. Your just never going to convince everyone to stop breathing to protect other peoples health..

This thread does seem to be drifting into TOS-forbidden waters.

I agree - I did not mean to argue the merits or controversial legal aspects. Lets get rendering with these props; add them here.

Thanks for all the great related links and Wendy that plant is awesome. Thanks for modelling & sharing it.
