What a lot of new entries all at once! (I see I'm not the only one spurred on by a deadline)

@Shades of Knight #2 "Poppy time" - simple but quite arresting - interesting POV and poses.
#3 "The Truth..." - you made that fit together neatly - though I think that alien looks like he's beyond the point of "lively expressions"!
(and thanks for your comments on my #3)

@KaribousBoutique #2 "Angry Birds" - you may be tired of this one, but it was worth the wait (I think you're going the wrong way if you're trying to avoid another win!) I love the bird, he looks really mean.
#3 "The Breakfast Nook" - I knew that odd pull would inspire you! I love that cosy ambience with the woman and the dragon.
(so good luck with that massive 4th pull!)

@barbult #6 "Beauty and Breakfast..." - she's really enjoying those pancakes, isn't she? Nice one, very lively feel.

@Morgan R. Lewis #4 "Underneath" - ooh, I wonder what they are chasing? Lovely eerie lighting there too.
(Congratulations on the Mini-Contest win, and thanks for your comments on mine)

And with optimistic zeal I'll throw in Pull #5:
    2247 = Evil Queen Set for Genesis 2 Female(s)
1697 = Spanish Rose -- Los Azahares Jardin
492 = Fairytale Collection - Redhouse Cottage Interior
1112 = Ideal Beauty Shapes: Feet for Genesis

Sorceress - Ginger for S6, Queen's Reign Vol 1 jewellery
Patient - Tori for V5, Pure Hair Darling, Boudoir Bliss, Moyras Lingerie Boutique Honeymoon

So flushed with that "success" I think I'll go for another - Pull #6:
    2116 = Feather Hair
    1247 = A Curious Schoolhouse
651 = M5 Starter Bundle (M5, Pure Hair Classic, Town and Country, DragonLord, James for M5, Easy Going Poses)
    1950 = Ocean Wide
Ah, joy, a bundle - but at least it's a small one.

Now for the sixty-four-dollar question: do I have a go at Number Seven?

As if there really was any question....

Oh, what the hey; let's go for it!

    Final pull (Lucky Number Seven):
    1369 - Holiday Decorations
    2043 - Gala
    1925 - GIS Skyway Expansion
    397 - Hikari Hair

    Okay, maybe not so lucky....

I was beginning to get a little worried, that this render wouldn't complete in time! (Took for-freakin'-ever!) But it did.

A long time ago, someone noted, "What's an RRRR without a Christmas-themed render?" Well, I concur. And the Gods of Random played right into my hands!

    Also used:
    GIS Skyway (Duh!)
    Future Height
    FM Night
    Classic Deco Eclectic 1
    Yuletide Treasure Tree
    Amaya Hair
    Victoria 4
    100 Essential Emotions for V4
Pharaohs of the Sun Dress for V4 (Required for Gala texture)
    David 3
    Santa Suit for D3
    Reindeer & Sleigh (sans sleigh)
    Lilith 6
    Corvidae Dress w/ Aslaug texture
    Seductive Queen (bist and pieces)
Casual Sexy Poses for Genesis 2 Female(s)
    Michael 3
Night at the Opera: Michael's Tuxedo
    Jamie Hair by AprilYSH
    Michael 4
    Michael 4's Tuxedo
    Rock Star Hair

And I'll admit, the punch-line is rather subtle; I just hope it wasn't overly so.

...agh, offline most of the week and the reminder bots for the thread apparently flew south already (sign of a bad winter coming)..

Believe it or not I actually managed to cobble something together from my first (and only) pick however need to do a couple finishing touches then the final render when I get home. The one rub, don't have net access from home to upload before tonight's deadline and the hotspot I go to will be closed by then..

    Title: Don't Ride with Mike!
After Mike totaled his 1950 Family Car in the big accident, he decided he needed something with more get-up-and-go. He bought a 1947 Meteor Sports Car. Word of Mike's poor driving skills traveled fast, though, and people cautioned other people to not ride with Mike!

Morgan R. Lewis, MelanieL, Jindi, Totte and Shades of Knight thanks for the recent comments on the images. It is always great fun to read them.

Shades of Knight, thanks for the compliment on the ladies skin. They use Elite skin texture Maya (AoA SSS added) and Victoria 6 RyBelle (out of the box). In the accident scene, the backdrop is part of my required RRRR item, HDR Pro Sets Urban Storm. It comes with the scenic skydome and lighting.

    Mini-Contest Winner!

Okay, so I'm a little late on the judging, but I've finally sat down and looked at the mini-contest entries! Both entries were very clever -- and both involved recycling dead things... (Yuck, lol!) It was a tough decision, but I've finally chosen a winner. Soooo..... *drum roll*

    Congrats, MorganRLewis!

And kudos to kaz42! The skeletons were delightfully posed! :)

Thanks! :) And thanks, Morgan R. Lewis, I liked yours too. :) Congrats! A well deserved win. I'm kind of glad I don't have another piece of software to try and learn right now, the more I think about it. lol...

After working an all-nighter, I'm not gonna get my second pull done in time. If it still matches the theme for next month, can I roll it over and submit it next month, or should I reroll after the new theme is announced?

Wow, things are getting crazy as they rush to finish. I wonder if KaribousBoutique will come up with four more before midnight.

Thanks, Totte, Morgan R. Lewis, SpyroRue, diomede64, MelanieL, Novica, Jindi

obanion#04 A lot of poses in that pull. Nice render and idea and great title. Hehe.
Totte#7 Cool. Love the action. I'm guessing Mr Shorty is from a movie I didn't see or maybe forgot I saw.
Thoreandan#1 Welome! A very attractive poster! Village Ladies - that's nice.
Diomede Pull #6 Another nice one. Great minimalist use of pull.
Sasje#3 LOL, great use of pull. I love the glass eggs! Really weird.
Morgan R. Lewis #3 I hope it is really water. (It looks like it.) Could be something else in an industrail chamber. Nice use of pull.
MelanieL#2 LOL. or maybe they will pull him in...
obanion#05 Haha, nice one. And a surprise!
babult#3 (Welcome back. You have a real life too?) Awesomely nutty render! One of my favorites.
emsim #1 (So some of us do have RLs.) Yes, it helps to be sober when wishing for things. I know this.
Shades of Knight #1 Welcome! Nice render adn good use of your pull!
Thoreandan#2 Another nice one. I wish I could think of things that didn't involve so many items, and have them look this good. Glad to hear that you like to embrace absurdity. A good quality to embrace when you hang out here.
barbult #4 OMG, I love it! Hilarious, and a great composition!
Sasje#4 HEhe, so strange, but very nice.
barbult #5 Oooh, nice render, but ouch! I know what's coming and it wouldn't get past the TOS. Unless Mike is very lucky that is.
Diomede Pull #7 An imaginative bunch of ladies, who tolerate the cold really well. Nice one!
obanion#06 Awesome, Ken! I agree with barbult - one of your best!
MelanieL#3 Haha, that's very cool. I love the looks she is getting.
Shades of Knight #2 I like the composition. I don't know what is going on though. I am kind of dense sometimes.
KaribousBoutique #2 And I though I was having fun with 2 LBs! Well, you pulled them together nicely. I love the idea, her pose and the ominous robin in the foreground. You have a strange runtime, but don't we all...
barbult#6 More barely working office workers! I guess we all know, or have known, them. Nice render!
Shades of Knight #3 The truth is out there, or in there. I really like the view through the window, gives it a nice snap shot feeling. Why is the alien slouching? Is that Mulder's lost sister? And what does Reinterject do? I love Dimension Theory, but he makes me say "huh?" a lot.
KaribousBoutique #3 OMG, That is great! You can do seven items, nothing to it! I can hardly wait for #4
Morgan R. Lewis #4 Oooh, nice murky atmosphere!
MelanieL#4 Hehe, nice one! All that in one afternoon. I never looked at Resort Lagoon after downloading it. That was a freebie, as I recall. Anyway, it looks pretty cool; I might have to try it out.
MelanieL#5 OMG, I love this one! It's funny that sometimes the ones that come together really fast are a awesome, like they have a mind of their own. Anyway, I love the foot trick.
obanion#07 Hehe, so Ken! I love their expressions. OK, I'm guessing that the "filthy beast" is David. I don't know who asked the question, the smirky guy, the angry woman, or the reindeer. A lovely holiday render in any case. ;-)
barbult #7 You did 7! Cool! And Mike did survive and will continue to be a menace on the roads. Groan. I love the expressions!
MelanieL#6 A really nice use of your pull and a very cool scene! A little too cool with the high water level. But, adapt we will!

Is it possible to give Kyoto Kid a chance to upload his one render, assuming it is done... Or are the rules etched in stone that much. Voting takes a week anyways, doesn't it? If nothing else I would like to see the render, Tote, others, your input?

No internet access dose seam rather, reasonable for an exception? Like being out of country for voting or on the moon for taxes, lol.

I remember when me and Ken kept doing N/As after the seven and we both made the best ones then. Since then I refrain from doing that, I do other stupid renders instead (just see how I flooded the PC weekly), still rendering for it...

Well, I'm a little disappointed in myself for not handling these one-a-day. I might have been able to hit the seven. As it turned out, when I sat down with my coffee and began to finalize my fourth by choosing the right set, I was interrupted by a surprise visit. I ended up going out to dinner and not returning until late night. Food and company were great, but it was a minor bummer for me when I realized I couldn't finish because all of your entries are so impressive and I would have liked to have had a better shot in this competition. Lesson learned and filed away for next time.

    On to the newer entries.

@KaribousBoutique: #3 Nice work. You have a sort of Yin-Yang thing going there with the light and dark. It's a clever design and witty commentary.
#4 Great composition and FOV. Nice dramatic feel considering the models. I'll take a stab at some brownie points too, because it never hurts to have too much of those. (In order of reference) Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass, Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Devil Wears Prada, Gladiator, and no clue about the last one but it feels like something that might be in the Legend of King Arthur.

@MorganRLewis: #4 I like the lighting on this one. Something about it reminds me of my MMORPG days on FFXI. Humorous dialogue, too. Thank you for commenting on my entries. I am glad to hear that the pause in their motion came across. I would have liked to find a way to add some motion blur in post, but it slipped my mind. Oh and before I forget again... Congrats on the mini-contest win.

@MelanieL: #4 Funny concept. I was physically smiling at the humor in it. Not sure how George will explain this one, but I can sure speculate! He's a Vixmancer, able to conjure vixens from thin air. Right?
#5 Another good one. Interesting unconventional use of a darker character. Another funny concept too.
#6 Wow! You're on a render-roll. (Not to be confused with a Rick-Roll.) Beautiful work with the water and reflections of the buildings. Was it a Bryce render? And, BTW, thanks for your comments on mine, as well. :)

@Ken OBanion: #7 Funny concept. Before reading anything, I thought that it made perfect sense that Santa would make a cameo at some upscale party. LOL Very nice touch with the pinky on the martini drinker.

@Barbult: #7 And yet another great render. I think you captured your story just about perfectly with the image. The reflection on the chromed mirrors is very nice too. The continuation of the scene was funny too! And once again excellent job on blending the backdrop with the figures in that last one. Thanks for taking the time to share how you did it.

@Luci45: Thanks for the welcome, comments, and questions.
In regard to my second entry, the idea was to take the supposed "dreamy" effect of the poppy and incorporate it into the image so the plants weren't out of place. To go along with the dreamy theme, I included a male character that walked out onto the porch wearing nothing but the sheet over his shoulders, while the twins were in the middle of a game of table tennis. Furthermore, I used a backdrop that contained only clouds and the camera angle had to be an upward shot in order for the horizon not to look all weird, but when I was testing angles I realized that it added more to the dreamy theme.
Thanks for picking up on the reference in my third entry. I only wanted to push the viewer to recall the TV show with the title. As it turned out though, I thought the woman looked like a silver-haired Scully. Nice coincidence, huh? The alien is slouching because he's either dead or unconscious. It was the first thing that jumped out at me while I went over the "Lively Expressions for Gianni 6." My idea was to show what an escape from an alien abduction might look like, since my pull included the UFO. And thanks for mentioning the window view. I wanted it to be a dramatic shot, kind of like what might be found in graphic novels.

@Kyoto Kid: One of the most unique entries I've seen. I wouldn't have been upset at all, if the powers that be allowed it in the competition. Great work on the composition, use of models, and concept. Part of me wants to call this "Canadian Golf."

Because I find it funny, I too would like to post what I had done on my last render, just to share the idea.

I was calling this "Oh, I'll place my item on the scale, alright!" (I'm only posting what I had done before the contest ended. Not sure I'll even finish it now that competition is over.)

Final run-through of the last 24 hours (before I make a proper start on the voting):
@Ken OBanion #7 "Party Crasher?" - an old joke but a good one! Well done getting #7 done - I just failed by a few hours, where does the time go? Actually I was at the supermarket today and noticed Christmas had started to arrive there - eek!
@barbult #7 "Don't Ride with Mike" - I love the expression on the man at the back, and those reflections in the chrome look really good - are they out-of-the-box on the car or something special you've done? (And congrats on completing the magic seven)
@Luci45 - thanks for the comments on my last five - I'd never touched Resort Lagoon either (yes it was a freebie) so it was interesting to pull that one and get some use from it. The foot thing did come to mind amazingly quickly (by my standards :red: ) I found myself at a loose end yesterday (other half watching cycling on TV all day) so actually managed multiple renders for once.
@KaribousBoutique #4 "Netflix on Drugs" - really striking image, weird and wonderful indeed. I can spot Oz and Pan and what looks like Wonderland? Not sure about the rest though - I don't see many films.
@Kyoto Kid - sorry you weren't able to beat the deadline - maybe next time?
@Shades of Knight - thanks for your comments. I think George must be rich as he's no hunk! Or perhaps your idea of a Vixmancer is better? The water in #6 is just the Ocean Wide prop in DAZ Studio - I was quite pleased with the way the foreground water came out with just a couple of Advanced Lights - I have Bryce but have not yet got to grips with it, it's on my list of "Things To Do" but that's rather long :)

So it just remains to wish everyone Good Luck in the vote. And thanks again to Totte and the sponsors for making this all happen. Great fun as usual :-)

Yeah, it is going to be a bit intimidating. Hell, just sorting through all the base content is a little daunting. :) I'm on a fairly slow internet connection (1.2 Mbps on a good day), so it took most of the night to get everything.

Thanks Shades of Knight and MelanieL for the additional comments on later images. I changed the chrome on the car, as well as the paint. I think I used the DAZ Chrome shader that comes with DS 4.6. It does a nice job. The Petipet vehicles come with pretty poor DS materials IMHO. I always change them.

I'd plead a hardship case [insert puppy eye emote] as I mentioned I've had extremely limited net access for the last couple months since my service was turned off (as I couldn't keep up the bills) and my (new) current work schedule makes it very difficult to go to a hotspot during the day (had to rush off to get home & drop the computer off after I uploaded this morning so could head to the bus to make it to work on time). This also made it difficult to search for freebies I needed (like the hockey sticks which I had to cobble together and texture in the 11th hour using Daz primitives).

When all was said & done, the final rendering yesterday evening also took much longer than expected, hence I missed being able to get back online from one of the neighbourhood pubs that has WiFi in time before 11:59 Daz time to upload.

However, I do understand that making an exception would push back getting the voting matrix set up thus cutting into the time for people to vote (and with the large number of entries this month, it will be a daunting task for all).

Hopefully this coming Saturday, my Net service will be restored and I can finally put all this insanity behind me as I'll have my first (albeit meager) paycheque in over 15 months.

KaribousBoutique #4 Gorgeous render. Was it done in Poser? "So Say We All?" Looks like a Cylon "toaster" with the glowing red eye.
barbult NOT AN ENTRY - JUST FOR FUN - Mike is still at it. Haha, that's great!
KyotoKid #1 A beautiful render and so well put together!

I did one of my best ones after a deadline. I was very annoying. Another time I threw one together after doing my quota and it was the best of the bunch (of mine, that is.)

About Kyoto Kid missing the deadline - I see where that would set an inconvenient precedent for future RRRs to allow this one as an entry. Why couldn't she enter it in the next RRRR though? That could be a new rule, fair to everyone, and others who missed the deadline could finish unfinished ones and enter. That would assume there is no theme, in which case it could be entered in the next un-themed RRRR.

Thanks for the comments, Luci45. And I agree with you that the rules should be followed. Ultimately, I'd say it is up to Totte, since he is the contest organizer. With RRRR, luckily, there is always another one just around the corner, and it is really about having fun with your content library.

Yes, I think we might allow a "fall over" from one contest to the next, following it fits the theme and also with a twist, I haven't decided on the twist yet though, depends on how the next one will be setup. But one thing I have in mind is that you can be allowed a "fall over", if you accept the penalty of an extra LB pull for the contest you are falling over to for the next one pull, one pull only.

(I just bought Shattered, so I had to try it.)

Mike dropped out of driving school before the stick shift lesson. 1,2,3,4, R??? What's all that? Whoops!

ROFL!!! Great follow up! That's soo RRRR funny!

Thanks, Totte, glad you enjoyed it! If only the contest weren't over. If only I hadn't already done 7. It could'a been a winner, etc.

I remember when me and Ken kept doing N/As after the seven and we both made the best ones then. Since then I refrain from doing that, I do other stupid renders instead (just see how I flooded the PC weekly), still rendering for it...

Ah, yes - I remember it well! (Channeling Le Venerable Maurice -- and Hermione Gingold, can't forget her; it was a duet, after all.) Good times, good times!

...I'd have no issue with the extra pull. Even two LB pulls..
