    Did some experiments with the skin. And came to the conclusion that for this style of photo PBRSkin isn't worth it. The SSS will get lost no matter what and all the details will get damaged by the airbrush effect. (Which kinda is its purpose - hiding wrinkles/crow feet).

    I think I should put this here. This is the second year since I use daz3d. And yes it's all Daz3D, with some item created in Cinema4D. And it's all rendered using iray.

    Updating one of my previous renders to Genesis 8.1, now with PBRSkin and that new expression-thingy. (Still figuring out PBRSkin and I borrowed V8.1's eye textures):

    Are you lost?

    I love this dress, but it is a beast to tame. I've only been able to make it behave with animated movements and very slight leg shifts. It renders beautifully however. Someday I'll sort out how to get it to work with sitting movements. 

    This render was also a bit of a beast; the environment had an unexpectedly high geometry and texture load so I needed to strip it down to the bones in the parts not rendered.It got it to about 98% convergence after about 3 hours, but there was still a fair bit of noise on the shadows of the face so I passed it through a denoiser.

    I know such dresses. There is an evening gown in my collection, that will never behave.

    Some scenes, they take hours of messing around getting everything just right, and some just seem to fall together. This was one of the latter.

    This gunbelt, from the M4 Hardcore set, is one of my favourite assets. Something about it was just perfect for what I was looking for, and very well detailed. A bit of chore getting it from M4 to G8, but worth the effort.

    Thank you! @3dOutlaw that is a nice series to put together in a day. Are those from the Solaris sets? I just nabbed one of those today myself.

    Speaking of petipet I was inspired to use a set of his I just grabbed on Friday's sale, the Sci-fi Cockpit Interior.

    'Tactical Planning'

    I needed to use white point to remove the blue tones from the emissives, but otherwise all lighting is from the set's emissions. Really happy with the set.
