See, THAT's what I was trying to find out. It doesn't say that anywhere in that banner or the popup that gives you the code.
OK, that answers my question then. They really should be more specific if they want folks to be able to use the damn coupons. We're not mind readers.

Some coupon weirdness (assuming this thread is regarding the FEST-5).
As a regular PC member, the coupon applied for me on a subtotal over $30, but a grand total of $21.
I didn't check out, and upgraded to PC+.
As a PC+ member, the coupon will no longer apply on the same order unless the grand total is $30 or higher.

Well, all the qualifiers were in the announcement of the coupon during the "buy now, coupon later" phase.
Thanks Kerya, but I didn't realize that was what the FEST-5 coupon was about, since this was the first time I had seen it as a banner on every page in the store. I don't recall them doing that before.
Lucky you, I HATE the in-store messaging banners.
They are "targeted" banners ... with coupons not for everybody.
Fixmypcmike: try to feel special whenever one of those shows up.
Maybe that helps.
*giggles*
I thought I used the coupon last night, but I am seeing the banner this morning. Is it a one time use coupon or multi use coupon?
I want to complain about... something. I want to complain about something really stupid.... how about the excess amount of monkeys in my pants? I think that's a perfect "non-issue" to bitch about! I'm gonna see what we have to do to get some kind of regulation put in place to control the number of monkeys in my pants.
The coupon appears to be single use; at least I wasn't able to apply it a second time. However, unless you close it, you may still see the banner even if you can't still use the coupon.
