Latest DAZ mailshot is messed up.
I just received an email from DAZ with another little incentive to take part in the PA sale.
It looks like one of the elves pressed the wrong buttons, though, because the plaintext part of the message describes one promotion, while the HTML part lists all the new PA products for tomorrow.
As most people probably don't see the plaintext component of emails, there are probably going to be some confused customers out there, wondering why the content of the message has nothing to do with the subject, and why all the links to the products are 404'ing.
Incidentally, the message reads "... Our Annual Premier Artist Festival is bigger than we could have expected, but we feel it's still missing something...YOU!" Given that I've been spending money at the DAZ store like a drunken sailor on shore leave since September 1st, I suspect DAZ aren't exactly targeting their mails too precisely. But I'm not complaining ...

There's a second email that says, "Whoops! We were so excited to tell you about all of the savings you could be taking advantage of that we accidentally sent you an email containing tomorrow's offerings. What we really meant to say is: ..."
Now, I don't know whether to try the coupon and freebie offer today, or tomorrow.
This might be a case of "Don't mind us, confusion is our most important product!"
Unfortunately, the Real World has been asking for real money lately too, so I might have to pass on the other offers.
Got the same email, or rather 2 emails; the second is a "Whoops we were so excited we sent the wrong email" message with a link to a hair freebie and a $5 coupon code off a $10 minimum purchase. Cool! Now if I can just find something to use it on. Says gift cards are excluded but does anyone know if it's good on the new stuff & PA items?
ADDING: The hair freebie link is working now, I put it in my cart & voila! New hairdo for Gianni & the G2 males & females. :-)
Links to stuff in the other email are all coming up 404 though, at least for me.
I think they're the planned releases for tomorrow. They're 404'ing because they haven't been added to the store yet.
One bonus is that you get to look at today's items (already announced) and tomorrow's items (announced by mistake in the first version of the mailshot) and decide which you'd rather spend your $5 coupon code on.
I had $15.92 in my cart, applied the festival coupon and the total dropped to 12.50.
That's 3.42 not 5. Are there restrictions on the coupon?
Was the freebie in the same order?
Yes. It was I'll Try without it. I didn't check out yet.
I took the freebie out and now the coupon applied correctly.
Thanks
I must be spending Waaaay too much! LOL Oh well, such is life. :)
I feel unloved - didn't get either email ;)
The hair is a nice one. So nice that I bought it a few days ago. Oops.
Fill a ticket asking for a refund.
Aww, again I was left out for this promomail :(
must have been another one of those pc+ things
did not get the emails either
Or possibly one of those "We notice that over the past couple of years you've spent the price of a small house at our store" things.
I didn't get the email, or the corrected email. No love for me.

yeah, but if you are always spending money they know they can count on you. You do not need any incentive.
It would seem to me that marketing is looking to attract those who spend little and turning them into the big spender while taking them away from spending at the other stores.
I started shopping at daz because in the beginning they offered vouchers when a football team won or just because it was a Monday. They made it fun to shop here.
Sorry to say, but they are just like any other store to me now. I need the incentives to feel like it is the 'Fun Store' again. (funny as a child there was a store that we always called the 'fun store' and we always got so excited everytime we got to go there.)
This one appears to have been because some few customers received an email that shouldn't have been sent out, So some, like angusm received 2 emails and most of us received none.
I didn't receive either e-mail, but my cousin, who is not a PC member and doesn't shop here much did.
Looks as if it's directed at those who don't come here very often.
I got it and I come here all the time. Haven't gotten many punches yet in the current sale though, so maybe that's a factor (edited to add: though given what angusm posted, perhaps not). Sometimes I get the offers and sometimes not...there were a few fairly recently that I missed.
I think it is probably a Punch thing - I've got the email but I haven't had any punches this month, nothing new (PA) I wanted. And the free hair - was one of the few things (DO) I have bought. I think I'll pick up the male clothes (also DO) when I get home.
And of course, when there's finally some male clothes - first time in weeks - they are not "punchable".
But if they did not intend to run a cool giveaway like that, why would they bother composing it at all?
You are right, coupons are given in time gaps I'd call rather seldom and punching sales are frequent. They spoiled us, we don't see 30% off as a very tempting offer anymore.
Hmm... So far, I've been taking advantage of free offers and tutorials. I did get two punches for those two freebies: Project Black Bird and Umbrella Patio Table. I followed the link in the newsletter, but it did not work. Now I am simply startled. Does it happen very often here :o?
Individually no, but as a bundle, yes ;)

But they're not part of any bundle!

A-ha! Thanks!
And now its also on the front page and festival page!
Then it must have been random. No logic in it - not to new customers, not to avid punchers, not those who are regulars... I don't get it either.

I think all we can really say is that it was targeted to a certain subset of customers based on some criteria and that there's really no way for us to know which criteria they were looking at (especially if there was a random element and/or the targeting, like the e-mail, didn't go as intended). DAZ does these targeted offers from time to time, so if you missed out on this one, maybe you'll be chosen for the next one.
I should clarify that post. The original post was querying the apparently glitched email sent out.
This was then corrected and the correct emails sent out to the targeted sectors.
I got the coupon and the other email. I am like on almost everyday.
Well, I got both emails. I clicked on the hair link today, and it worked. I entered the coupon after adding another item to the cart, and it all seemed to work. The numbers look a little strange though. I put two items in my cart that were $14.95 each. The hair was discounted to $0. The other item was Lady of the Moon which is shown as 30% off, making it $10.47. If the coupon was applied correctly, which it seemed to be, the $5.00 off orders of $10.00 or more, then my total should have been $5.47. My total was $7.97. It's as though the coupon got me 50% off Lady of the Moon, not $5.00 off. Confusion IS Daz's most important product...
