Well It is in there but the file names need to be edited as chapters 8 through 10 are not named the same as the rest of the chapters.

I found a decent computer online but I forgot to bookmark the info page. Ah.. I even forgot the specifications. I think it was an AMD quad-core computer with 8 GB of RAM for $600.

...bit of break in the stormy weather today. Sun is actually out and temps seasonal for this time of year. Yesterday's weather messed with the sinuses and joints.and I feel a bit chilled today so just staying in.

Lots of trees down and minor damage around town but thankfully nothing catastrophic and no injuries reportes.

And we may not be out of the woods yet, for the advanced forecast indicates the remnants of a tropical cyclone are on track to possibly hit the Northwest by later next week so more wet and windy conditions on the way Need more candles and batteries.

...and maybe a Coleman camp stove so I can at least heat up soup and tea.

San Francisco Baseball Giants won last night with a late innings 7 run rally. Series knotted at 2 - 2
    .
Green Bay and New Orleans in about two hours (Sunday Night game). Expected to be a shootout between Rodgers and Brees.

Detroit came back from 21 points down to beat Atlanta in Wembley Stadium, London, and remain on top of the NFC "Norris" Div. .

...well Tom "Terrific" Brady for for the Pats looked to have a big day going 30 of 35 for 354 yards and 5 TD passes to beat up on "Da Bears" 51 - 23.

...however, move over Major Tom, for here comes Pittsburgh's "Big" Ben Roethlisberger on 40 of 49 attempts for 522 yards, and 6 TDs (the sixth on a 4th and 1 play) against Andrew Luck (who threw for 400 yards and 3 TDs) and the Indy Colts. Steelers win 51 - 34. Over 900 total yards passing by the two QBs combined..

Inner city public transport got trashed by the storms, trains aren't running anywhere and the roads are gridlocked near me, no hope of getting anything done today :)

...that is part of why I've questioned our transit system's expensive commitment to expanding the LRT tram network over just improving basic bus service. When an incident occurs, it usually brings one (or more) of the lines to a screeching halt, causing delays for several hours scrambling to dispatch shuttle buses (which sometimes are diverted from other routes) to move thousands of stranded passengers.

Pretty much a day doesn't go by when I don't receive at least one or two email alerts about some kind of issue with the system. Most often it is traffic related, a car blocking the tracks or stuck by a train, as the line operates at street level, particularly through the city centre where it has to contend with all sorts of operational hazards. However over the past year there have been more breakdowns in the system itself, including individual trains, signals, switches, and even power outages in the overhead lines. Were the system isolated from traffic like other rapid transit systems are, many of the incidents experienced would never occur and the system could run at it's optimal speed rather than crawling through the city centre slower than I ride my bike.

We used to have a fairly efficient and frequent network of bus routes. Once the commission got on the LRT kick, bus service began to deteriorate on several levels. Frequency was reduced on many routes, late night and weekend service was cut, in some cases entire routes were eliminated, and for a a number of years we had one of the oldest fleets in the nation with more than just a few buses over two decades old. When I first moves here over 25 years ago they were expanding bus service right and left and there was even a plan in the works for 24 hour service on a number of major lines.

The commission's apparent strategy today is to have bus routes feed the LRT lines rather than provide more direct bus service which actually increases commute time because it forces additional connections and out of the way travel. It's as if they seem to be following the airline industry's "hub & spoke" model, thus making commuting more inconvenient than it should be.

Here's a pic of a schedule guidebook cover from a year before the first LRT line went into service. I love the slogan, and back then, there was a bit of truth to it.

..ugh The Big Easy is looking more like the "House of the Rising Sun" for Green Bay.

After an incredible 70 yard strike to Cobb in the Packers first possession, which it looked to set the tone of the game, Green Bay went cold unable to convert on third down. For a while the only "shootout" appeared to be between the Saints' and Packers' kickers as the teams traded field goals three times before going into halftime tied up at 16 all.

Second half has been a total disaster with Rodgers throwing two picks both of which were capitalised on by New Orleans hich an up the score 37 - 16 with just over nine minutes to go. Late TD for Green by made it 37 -23 on a 14 yd run by Rodgers, but less than five minutes to go.

Looks like there will be no magical finish this week.

At least the Baseball San Francisco Giants shut out the Royals 5 - 0 tonight to go up in the World Series 3 - 2.

Found out that iTunes gave the u2 album for free earlier this year. Now I feel stupid for having gotten the album at Amazon that I got for free at iTunes. In order to have my Amazon music in iTunes I would have to buy a subscription to iTunes match.

Blech, od-ing on bean dip is NOT recommended,,

Drinking a quart of PowerAde Zero to help with the dehydration.. it's kind of an off-green, and tastes like flavored floor tiles, but itseems to be helping. :shut:

Lunch will be a nice, happiness-making bowl of steak and tater soup. :)
