For USD 38.73 as it shows in my cart, I am tempted to pull the trigger.
What I really love about Cleopatra 8.1 is her height of 163 cm. She is not your typical modern tall model, 180 cm or even taller. Awesome.
I use the scaling morphs that come with Sangriart's Osuine and Kayleyss' Aurore to get my G8Fs to be about that size. Osuine is smaller than Aurore.
What's wrong with the height morph in the base morphs? Just curious.
Sometimes that scale morph is "baked in". So if you're making a mix character and dial in a short base, the character will get short. There's times you want the shape but not the size. As much as I love to mix with her, I have this problem with Mei Lin 8.
Not at home at the moment, so can't check but some height-morphs are just scaling the length of bones, and these morphs are not transferred to clothing and hair that's fitted to the character.
Apparently not much of a problem with clothing and hair that's created for the base figure in question, but when you fit something created for another generation, the fitted item doesn't always understand/follow the height-morph.
I just spent some time to figure out what was the problem with fitting some clothing to a character.
its not easy to export from Unreal into DAZ studio though, I do so often but it's a lot of work
I understand that but it just seems like an odd business model to be selling repackaged free products... then adding an interactive license price.......

They (daz and dekogon) did similar with the Subway train. But i think in that case they at least added the actual tunnel environment that i don't see in the unreal store.
There is also an overlap of other dekogon products like the western guns, but is way cheaper here at DAZ than on the other store.
What "the Dekogon stuff". There are only 5 free items at the UE store, and they're not converted to DUF. The rest doesn't look free to me. And the treasures are USD 11.25 when I look at them.

It's a pretty common business model. Packaging is the majority of the cost for a lot of things. Companies sell bottled tap water all the time. Companies sell fish from the sea. Companies sell liquid oxygen.
I never realized how popular Ancient Egypt was until the past few months here at Daz. Everything looks very nice, I'll pick up the character for sure, but seems to me they could have done a different theme that wasn't covered so recently.
I will add that despite being a ruler of Egypt, Cleopatra was of the Ptolemaic dynasty, and therefore actually of Greek ethnicity:
True, but DAZ isn't exactly known for being accurate with factual or historical details, are they? It's pretty egregious here, though, since thanks to sculptures and coins from during her actual reign, there are multiple actual likenesses of the real Cleopatra that were made during her reign and, needless to say, the DAZ version isn't even remotely close.

The treasures are permanently free so maybe your local. Lots of pushback for trying to save folf a few pounds, I will learn.
Very easy to export a few items and change a few materials.
Cleo 8.1 looks kind of cartoonish to me, reminds me of Mike 8.1, perhaps the same artist did both. I don't think the bundle is too bad but I much prefer the earlier 5' 4 Egyptian queen, Twosret.

Daz did not get the items for free. They had pay to license them. And the whole point of the Daz store is that items are ready to use. It's no secret that there are free items available elsewhere that can be made to work. It's not everyone's idea of fun to convert dozens of props when there's an inexpensive alternative.

Totally agree with you. Just a heads up to the frugal not a call to arms.

if they are in the Permanently Free collection ( I cannot check now or would have) then you cannot use them outside Unreal so the DAZ export license is still good for Unity users for example

I just tried that link and it came up as free for me so I "bought" it. It reminded me to look at this month's limited free selection. I've built up quite a collection of free stuff for Unreal Engine, I should try and find time to work out how to use it. I was following a series of tutorial videos on Youtube but I've sort of stalled on that and not looked at them for a while.
As for Cleopatra's Ancient Treasure Bundle, it looks good but I've already got quite a lot of similar stuff. I've almost used up my last discounted gift card credit and I've just got my council tax bill for this year so I think I'll pass on this one, nice though it is.

I feel the most egregrious thing is that they didn't put "comin atcha" anywhere in the product description or even the promotional material.

That's another debate for a different forum :) but... as Epic didn't get this created exclusivly for Unreal Engine I'm still happy I could use this free asset in Unity, Godot etc.... Now being sold here makes me doubly sure
Seriously? This may be the most anemic, overpriced bundle yet.
I would have to agree with Cybersox on this. I haven't been too enthuised with the Mad items, a few PC items, but nothing really making me want to load a cart yet.
Does anyone know if the vellus hair is included with her? There was some post saying that they were gonna include it with all the other 8.1 Base Characters, after what happened with Victoria but White Priestess 8.1 didn't have it. (I got White Priestess because of her looks more than the promise of the hair.)
I like it but for me it comes out to $46.48. Not sure that price is enough for my budget with no extras like we had in the past. I do think this is nice, but I'll probably just get one or two things instead of the entire bundle.
I find this interpretation of Cleopatra underwhelming. Both Twosret and Khemsit have more character and are more realistic. If you want toon I think there are several better options... Akila comes to mind.

That is the reason for not needing a male counterpart

EDIT: I'll note that I actually like her, but Cleopatra it really isn't.

it was free for a month quite a while ago
Epic has lots of limited time freebies, if you miss out you miss out and have to buy it
I still bought the subway set for example at DAZ even though I got the train and subway free as Unreal assets
I may get that treasure too one day as exporting stuff from Unreal is very iffy

Too bad that it's not good HD. That skin in the face close up is...

Or a meringue

I hope the cartoonish art style of this character isnt the future vision of Daz going forward.
Too stylized for my tastes. I'll stick with Twosret.
Laurie
As it should be, especially when you consider PAs produce characters with HD for much, much less.
I like the bundle, and the 3 items I'm interested in about match the price in my cart.
I agree though, it is a long way from a $122 bundle.

High Five!
Well, at least the bundle doesn't have a wooden club that costs $16 or a $17 loin cloth.

You need the $16 club to keep people from peeking under the $17 loin cloth.
