Being a gay man I’m continually amazed at what women think looks good on them.

But women are not likely trying to impress gay men when they wear something like that. :)

Also, being a gay man I'm continually amazed at what straight men think looks good on a woman.

    ...

Didn't say it was wrong, but just that it amazes me. 8-Q
It's like makeup. Why oh why do women think makeup is so essential when so many of them do it so badly?
Keep the hair clean and neat. Keep the skin washed and moisturized, keep a genuine smile. Drop the clown paint.

Why, it is just a basic fitted dress with a jacket. I saw several outfits like this the other day at a friends office when i went by to pick her up for lunch. Without the jacket, it would probably be less appropriate for many workplaces, but I have seen plenty of business suits for women that are that short and expose as much.

What someone may wear at work is not the same as what you should wear when you interview FOR work, which is the point the O.P. was making. As it is, this outfit violates most of the suggested guidelines of just about every source, which consistently suggest knee length skirts, conservative shoes, conservative blouse and jewellery, etc. .

Wearing a knee length skirt, and conservative blouse to an interview has never helped me land a job
Me neither, but I'm a 6' tall, 280 lb guy with a greying beard.

    Bet it's the shoes...

True. But maybe some sensible pumps...

Totally have to agree with you on that... I wear makeup about once every 5 years.

Im loving this post... not due to the nature of the taste of the garment in question... but realizing the gender of some forumites being the opposite of what I thought they were.

Because it works. Even when it is done badly. The purpose of makeup is basically to show that there is an active interest in appealing visually to others, whereas a scrubbed clean look can easily be interpreted by others as not being "interested" right now. (And yes, that goes for gay women as well. For example, there's been quite a bit of appreciative online chatter from that side of the aisle about the character of Amy getting all dolled up for a change on this week's episode of "Faking It.")

Mind you, I don't think a lot of people really think about the fact that the origins of most modern makeup is to simulate the look of arousal, with widened eyes and blood rushing to the lips and cheeks (hence the name blush.) Just like high heeled shoes are primarily designed to pump up the legs so that the rear end pushes out and the breasts are thrust forward, while making the leg itself look leaner.

LOL, I'm one of them, aren't I? So many people over the years have assumed I'm a woman because of the "snow"...it's like they don't read past that to the "sultan" part. ;)

(btw, I made a mistake in quoting LeatherGryphon and now it looks like I said I'm gay. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but I'm straight. Sorry for adding to the confusion).

I get that a lot, too. Not that many people notice that the symbol for "female" is part of my avatar spider, and my merchant name doesn't provide obvious cues. Doesn't matter to me - I am not my gender, I'm me. ;)

I might as well give up the last one... I was shocked to learn "Spit" is a woman. There gotta be a EULA forum violation against that or somethin...

Haha, not a problem. This community is one of the few that I've been in where it seems to make no difference to anyone if you're male or female. Thanks for following my renders too!

There should be a requirement that everyone has to post a picture of themselves in the "job interview" outfit.

    :gulp:

    Okay, maybe there shouldn't.

I wanna see fixmypcmike in it. I'm sure he would look better than I would. ;)

Ghastly's suggestion, of course, has merit, but tanning that many skins is really a pain.

And thanks, SnowSultan. That is one of the great things about working in 3D by contract; gender is really very irrelevant.

Most people assume I'm male from my forum name.. I really don't care though, I've always been one of the guys.

Yeah right. I'm too short (before osteoporosis I was 5' 3", last check I was 5' 1"). I really don't have the shape for it and my orthopedist would kill me if I tried wearing those heels.

Not to mention Halloween was two weeks ago.

I assumed you were female because I remember an issue of Family Guy where Lois is in prison. When she meets her cell mates - Fisty, Stabby & Balls, she asks if those are Biblical names and Fisty said hers was.

Interview for Genesis 2 needs stockings for a complete professional look. lol Most ladies I know wear stockings or pantyhose at their office with skirts. Just saying.

edit: clicked submit too early as usual. Most ladies don't wear makeup. I guess makeup is starting to go out of style or something, at least in my town.

Maybe it's regional. Where I live there's an age cutoff. If you wear nylons, you are over 45 and probably over 50; women under 40 wear no leg covers or cotton tights instead, unless it's for a sexy Halloween costume or other special effort. No employer requires pantyhose. Makeup is very individual. I can't be bothered, but my sister wears it every day.

LOL No there shouldn't. I'm 70 now and nobody wants to see me in a miniskirt.

Sorry for the confusion, not intentional. My sister (who died many many years ago) used to call me that. She morphed Sylvia into Saliva and then into Spit.

Hilarious! And no need for apologies. I find this all VERY entertaining.

I think by now most know my gender...
Saw someone changed it in one of the contest threads.
    I went:"damn, someone ratted me out!" ;)

I've actually never seen that episode.. I'm named (in a round about way) after a certain wizard..

Hmm, this is rather normal to what I am used to see in some offices here in Denmark (or Copenhagen rather) to be honest, so I don't really see that much of a problem.

I couldn't read more than the first page and part of the second page of this thread, so I'm not sure if anyone else has said this already... Despite the fun you are having with this thread, I hope everyone agrees that the outfit itself is really pretty nice. They did a good job on it and I hope nobody's feelings are hurt from this thread.

...part of the reason I don't purchase a lot of female character morphs as they tend to include a lot of makeup mats that I would never use on my characters.

Oh and yeah - the outfit, the whole bundle actually, and the 3 texture packs for the bundle items - were all grabs for me. Always nice to have more normal clothes.
