    ...and the ugly pt. II:

Been getting BSODs on the workstation again after over a year of trouble free operation.

None of the diagnostic reports in the Event Viewer seem to make any sense as to helping me figure out what may be causing this.

    The heat?

Do you have all the numbers copied from the BSOD?

...numbers? Not sure what numbers I need. The screen was yup for only a few moments before the system rebooted.

Have no idea how I would copy them down that fast

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup & Recovery > Settings, uncheck "Automatically Restart".Therwe will be an error code plus 4 parameters in parentheses.

...well a few minutes until Midnight. we'll see how quick they are,

The agent said if there is an interruption it will be either today or tomorrow but wasn't clear on it. Will be talking to the local office tomorrow to see what can be done.

So I may be back or I may not depending on how it goes. If they do cut me off not sure when I'll be able to restore service as it will be a lot more expensive due to having to pay the full balance (including new month's billing) plus reconnect fees & such.

    ...thank you

Net access should be free, or at least, much more affordable than it is as there is so little you can do anymore without it (like apply for a job, pay bills, get software and security updates, etc...)

Is this the very old, "classic", BASIC? It's been a long time since I used that. It was in the first class I took in college in 1991, Introduction to Computers. A little of this, a little of that. (BASIC, WordPerfect for DOS, Lotus 123, DOS batch files) VB.NET is long removed from that, mutated and enhanced. It's not unrecognizable, but there's a lot that has been added, or modified, or beefed up.

Even back then, the While had an End While I believe. Your print statements should be after the end of the loop. Have you tried to run that?

    Dana

Python. BASIC I understood. This is an example the prof gave us. It does work in Canopy and IDLE. When I hear square or cube, I go berserk. Then I multiply or divide by 2 or 3. This is why I was an English teacher.

Hang in there, KK. I definitely agree that we should have universal free Net, just like radio. Some people even have free telly. I can't help with the BYOD. Today my laptop has just shut off. The keyboard is very hot to the touch; no idea why.

tjohn, put some meringue on that pie, please. It looks nekkid.

I saw Skiriki sneak in here. Maybe you'll stick around for a bit.

My thanks to all of you, my Net family, for the BD wishes. I've survived for 73 years, some good, some bad. I think Cho and I are the closest in age.

    ...thank you.

Concerning the notebook, are you doing GPU rendering in Iray?

Also check the side vent to see is it clogged/blocked .

Relax, it is a dream. A tree just transformed into ice cream, so yeah, gotta be a dream.
