  • This is just done in 15 minutes all in Zbrush. G9 has a really good mesh flow.

I love Genesis 9. I took her for a test spin in Zbrush. I am now sculpting all her pores and wrinkles, all one by one.

I totally agree! I think as far as character creation goes, that G9 will be the best at easily creating morphs and characters while not dealing with a lot of the headaches from past generations such as worrying about the teeth and eyes deforming. I know there are pros and cons to every generation but this one seems, so far, to be doing it for me. But it is still new so we'll just have to wait and see.

So true! Especially the eyes. I would never have been game previously to try and create my own eye slant.

I never had to worry about eyes and teeth when i use zbrush, you can easily hide them there. The mesh is so smooth that it deforms easily. And also gen 9 is a blank canvas it still breathes life and character in them , however the challenge in Gen 9 is the joints. You can morph the Donald Duck out of it, you cant avoid adding new joints corrections.

    This is true...

    Nice work!

Is there any way in this forum to use multiple quotes in one post?

Why not? those are the easiest, no matter what figure. The hardest are the epicanthal folds, most people slant the eyes but most epicanthal folds only have the ilusion of being slanted.

I've always been scared that I'd muck it up. I've seen too many professional products that need eye fixes over the years that I guess it put me off trying.

I've not tried epicanthal folds either...but I have done teeth morphs in the past just not with genesis.

  • Slanting is just rotating. 5 Minute job in Zbrush.

It's been my experience so far that it requires fewer correctives, and I do tend to morph the duck out of things.

Yeah, those joints are gonna be tough, that's why I respect K.H.Image studio so much, as they're able to deal with joints magnificently, while also being very skilled at providing anatomically correct non-genital morphs, eagerly awaiting the G9 version!

Yup. Whereas in the past, K.H.Image's bend correctives helped me add more realism to poses, it looks like with G9, they are going to be a necessity.

Yes i have always wondered how you were able to do that. Like you i morph beyond the scope of the base figure. I have to dive a bit more into this stuff.

More like a requirement, as the joints are too rudimentary for those that want a more anatomically correct character… Sigh, it's gonna be a long wait until I can use G9 properly, I mean, I can ZBrush the correct joint into a pose, and save it as a scene, but not as a morph asset which is more practical than constantly ZBrushing poses!

Some ZBrush crimes combined with Victoria's asymmetry morphs and Nathy's Fantasy Shaping. You can actually change G9's face a lot with the asymmetry morphs just by dialing them up to a high strength in equal proportions.

The face on the stylized Vicky is mostly her morph at 100%, the feminine face at 100%, and then the masculine morph at something like 20% (at that level it just balances the features out).

For some reason I was always really nervous about sculpting on G8/8.1 and now I'm just ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

    Thank you very much! :D

  • beautiful work plasma_ring !

  • Do I need a separate product for teeth on G9 male?  I have essential head shapes, do I need more? They're in the Scene list but not visible. I've clicked on everything known to mankind & no teeth.

Teeth morphs are under Genesis 9/Actor/Head/Face/Mouth/Base.  If you scroll down to the bottom of the list there are a few.  There is some limited abiliity to morph the teeth..

If you are looking for something more comprehensive to morph individual teeth and shaping, I'd suggest my "Build Your Own Smile - Dental Work" product.

    Hope that helps.
