Amorphozoa's definitely not something I expected to see today. Or ever. One of the weirdest and most interesting things I've seen in some time; love it.

Certainly caught my eye. Now looking over my shoulder.

  • Yeh for Howie! More! More! Bridge is very nice.

Anyone rendered Cartoon Adult Male and Cartoon Adult Female in the same scene? I've considered buying the male character several times but always taken him out of cart before checking out - he seems a bit mismatched to the female character to me. Like she's shaped to be a "knockout beauty" but he's just "the kid next door". I don't think the character is bad or poorly made - I was simply hoping for a pair closer to Megan and Matt, so I'm a bit put off. But I'm curious to see the new characters side-by-side.

    I like the

    https://www.daz3d.com/renaissance-instruments

48mb download size. I must admit i didn't know the "Hurdy Gurdy" (click to enlarge)

It is impressive how you can adapt buttons (keys) and crank wheel (click to enlarge):

  • I'd hurd of hurdy-gurdies, on the radio. However the pictures I saw were very different. Interesting.

@richardandtracy: In the english wikipedia article it is the first image:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurdy-gurdy

in the german version of that article the same instrument/ image is described as from about 1800, France (Paris), in the guitar style of Pierre Louvet (1709–1784). If i got it right, guitar style was one of the french hurdy-gurdy - styles.

Oh yes, these cats do a great job with toilet paper! Always neatly wrapped around the legs of the chair. ;-D  But still, today's 'Golden Ticket' is well done.

Thanks FirstBastion... Wishlisted (sighs)... You'd think with ALL the content I have in my runtime I'd have something suitable...lol.  I'll keep looking... I have a LOT to look through.  ;)

I have a file folder on my desktop called "You Own These".

And it is for screen-snaps of product pages that have the big red "Purchased" button on it,  because on occassion I come to a page and forgot I already own the product.

I sift through the contents of that folder's images to remind me what i already own,  and  trigger ideas what to render next.

Sounds VERY organized... ;)  I was able to pick up the Red Crow Inn so I have furniture for those wooden buildings now.  Just need time to git renderin'.  ;)  Thanks

For all you guys with limited hardware space, the beautiful new Twist hair https://www.daz3d.com/twist-hair-for-genesis-9 looks heavy, but really isn't: just 130 MB zip size. Love that heart And looks just amazing.

    +1!! yesyes

Mihrelle's two hair models - and of course the sensational price - were the main reason why I bought the 'Calypso' pro bundle. The girl can't compete with 'Coral 8.1', and it's already another minor (probably followed by another old guy)... But some things in the bundle are quite nice for kitbashing; even parts of the 'Nereid' armour (an underwater armour with high heels - really, Barbara Brundon and Umblefugly?!?!) can be used.

    Thankyou, @FirstBastion

  • The MRL Warrior Hair is very heavy on the system, to the extent when I was running my old Win7 machine I gave up using it. Nice to hear that one is light, shame there's no G8 compatible version of the twist hair..

    Richard

Are there any morphs to make it shorter? I did not see any.

I'm not seeing any in the file list, either; couldn't install it yet. Probably the braids would look weird if bunched up to shorten.

  • Am I missing why this is free? Doesn't show up for me in a price low to high

A few things popped up as free the other day. Most of them were "Lite" versions of existing products but this dress turned up too. I suggest grab it while you can!

Calypso 9 will not be interesting to anyone who doesn't like - or is simply bored of - Thorne girlies. But I think she, together with Ally 9, are two of the more charming recent Thorne creations. Only her lips are a bit much, once again.

So I got the bundle since I didn't have any mermaids yet and I liked the ear and other face morphs, and was kind of wanting to render mermaids after seeing a mermaid show at the local museum! I'm  disappointed in the Calypso 9 Body Tattoos since I can't apply them to the tail.  It would have looked very cool to have the pink scales on her tale to match her arms.

This image is pretty close to an out of box render (with lights added and fog turned off). I'll try and do a better render later, but adding it in case anyone wants to know about how the tattoos look (or don't look) on her.

    Mermaid swimming

So, erm, uh, am *I* the ONLY one who saw Calypso 9 go live with "naughty bits" promos?  I see they removed them by pretty early today. And while I was not shocked by what I saw, I was very surprised by seeing it at DAZ.  I'd post a screenshot, but OBVIOUSLY that would get removed. <grin>

Several people saw and reported, they were removed pretty quickly.

Which is pretty ironic considering that the world's best known image of a mermaid, upon which Calypso is based and which has been on display to the public since 1913, is completely topless and seen by thousands of tourists every day.

Yeah well, thi Calypso was bottomless too. The non-fish version.

I never got as far as rendering, because it was a posing nightmare for me. My character's head and upper body were turned a little to the side. The supplied pose controls didn't help me get the hair to lay properly. There are so many bones in each twist strand, posing with Active Pose and individual bone rotations was fiddly and exhausting. I gave up in frustration for now. You may be more skilled at posing than I am.
