    Just a note that the two characters have now been given Editorial Licenses - any purchasers should have/be getting a partial refund automatically and of course there is an offer of a full refund.

    We were previously assured that license terms would not change after purchase. It doesn't affect me personally, but I am disappointed to see that policy be changed. So when is any purchase safe from license change now?

    Hence the partial refund and - apparently - a coupon code for purchasers, if they don';t want a full refund. Not something Daz will wish to repeat if it can avoid it.

    As I said I like the Founding Fathers' Outfit, and the Golf one looks well-made, but the Presidential Outfit - no, this isn't working for me at all. It looks badly tailored, cloth drapes like old sacks, nothing fits anywhere the way it should, the coat doesn't have any button holes as far as I can see, and buttons sit wayyyy too close to the seam ... These are not clothes anyone with a decent chunk of money would choose to wear. Sorry to be so harsh, but it really annoys me. AND the nice Founding Fathers and this one are by the same creator! How weird is this?!

    Buttons on the left - that's a woman's coat. I think PAs make it that way so they can just overlap the two sides to make it look buttoned, but it looks wrong when show open on a man. Being more generous, I can say that perhaps it is made that way in case the US elects a female president one day.

    A really cool solution to this would be if there were two sets of rigid follow node buttons included and two texture / normal map sets for faking button holes (this still annoys me so much, the lack I mean!) - and this way, one could swap everything from left to right side. But maybe there would be technical issues that I'm not aware of.

    I'm assuming Vicey3D does celeb lookalikes because I recognise a few faces from their store. And I'm also assuming I just don't know those I don't recognise. But I love their work and have picked up a few of their G8 figures. Never to use as-is, but instead to mix something like 10% Vicey3D mixed into my custom characters, which seems to give them some extra pop. I prefer G9, so I'm naturally over the moon to see a Vicey3D G9 character. Clearly Saylor Twift inspired, albeit not quite as obvious as the G8 version.

    The buttons and closure is not correct though and I noticed it on the jacket/coat versions. While I may have no issue with buying a guy's flannel shirt, it is worn around the house, not in public. I am not sure a guy would wear a woman's jacket/coat. In the real world the guys have the better quality clothes and styles that recognize a figure that is not a size 4 for a 6 ft woman's frame.

    I usually like Feng's characters quite a lot, but 'Toddler Luna' is really terrible (https://www.daz3d.com/hd-toddler-luna-and-expressions-for-genesis-9). First of all, she doesn't look anything like a toddler except maybe some proportions, but even these are not quite right: and apart from that, she's just a shrunken adult. Has the PA ever bothered to look at a small child at all, I wonder? Secondly, and what's a lot worse, she is posed exactly like an adult, in poses that a small child or any child for that matter shouldn't be depicted in. I know they're not downright seductive, but on the verge, and generally just ADULT ways of standing, sitting, posing their hands and such. This is deeply unhealthy.
    Seriously, I feel kind of offended by being offered this as a child character. Why does DAZ make such a fuss about us not showing an inch of a child's shoulder on the gallery but offers child characters who are really adults and being depicted as such in their own store?

    If someone had told me she was intended to be a little person adult, I would've had less trouble believing it. But I'll buy that this is a toddler when I buy that Tobyn is indeed "a cute newborn baby character." (Even my eldest living, arrived the size of a three-month old and was doing things the nurses said shouldn't happen for months yet, STILL wasn't doing any of what's in those promo pics!)

    TODDLER:  a child aged 1-3 years old. By that definition, she is well beyond that age and in a couple promo images she looks 20.

    Would've been nice to have it so the button were made on both side and you could just toggle them on/off for both sides.

    St. Basil's Cathedral is an odd choice for the Soviet Architecture release, given that it not only preceded the Soviet Union by several centuries, but is practically the antithesis of Soviet architecture.

    This promo highlights the contrast:

    The cathedral in the center was built in the 16th century, the building on the far right in the late 19th century in a Baroque style. The other buildings are what Soviet architecture looked like.

    The new Powerage Bundle is very interesting. However, it is not entirely clear to me what the St. Basil's Cathedral is supposed to do in a bundle with Soviet architecture. The cathedral was built in 1561; the Soviet Union existed from 1922 to 1991... laugh

    Nevertheless, this part of UNESCO World Heritage is of course very welcome to me. It looks like it is excellently crafted, as are the actual Soviet elements.

    I would not call this style Brutalism, for the first wave of eastern socialist architecture has been clearly inspired by neo-neo classicism as in most  _authorian_ regimes.
    They later turned down into that Brutalism, for they just can't afford the costs for any extra architectual elements.

    I've thought all this time that the St. Basil's Cathedral was the Kremlin blush and I remember seeing the Kremlin in one of the Mission Impossible movies, and my mind had straight up replaced the actual Kremlin with the cathedral. I could have sworn I saw Tom Cruise infiltrate "the building with the funky onions". The human mind is truly wild.

    Many American movies, TV shows, & news programs use the Cathedral visually when referring to the Kremlin. Honestly, in this age of quantum effect shifting continents, human organs, and Bible verses, who can say definitively one way or the other?

    Yeah. That grubby school of low-cost Soviet architecture isn't Brutalist, not with facade walls like that (see those columns, or areas of relief that are meant to invoke columns? That's neo-classicism. Brutalist walls are FLAT). That said, there was an awful lot of bad Brutalism in the USSR because cast concrete looked "modern" and was cheap ... but none of it is represented in this set.

    I'm afraid I rejected this set because -- I hope Powerage is not reading -- I think if you are going to represent a building as famous as St. Basil's, you should at least TRY to get realistic-looking surfaces onto it, not Crayola.

    Also, to answer someone else's remark, St. Basil's is confused with the Kremlin because often what you see as a photo of "the Kremlin" is a photo of Red Square, to which both the Kremln and St. Basil's are adjacent, and St. Basil's is far more photogenic.

    Multiple towers with domed roofs were a feature of a lot of churchs and catherdrals of the eastern orthodox church. I assume the onions were a derivation of those.

    Though one explanation I've seen posited that wasn't in there was because snow falls off them easily.

    Basically boils down to the fact that Russians adopted Christianity from the Byzantines, and those were features of their architecture. It's not the same Catholicism as the rest of Europe.
