So IS DAZ aware of the uploading issues?

If this is going to be blamed on the forums software again and nothing is to be done, I see little use in staying around these forums, not to mention the store, really. What's the word?

I get there's little use in ranting in here. Just saying I would appreciate a comment from DAZ that they are working on it, and even an apology for the inconvenience. As long as I don't see this, I'm going to assume nothing is done and that this is the new norm.

Daz is aware of the issue, it was reported to them by moderators.

    ...and...

I stand with what I just said. DAZ should, like any other normal company, come over here and apologize, and try to ensure us that something  is being done. Not only that, but they should visit this thread on a regular basis and report their progress.

I think the problem is we as Dazionians are a needy people... we crave acknowledgment... we take comfort in knowing our concerns and problems are important, not just to us, but to the keepers of the forum software that loves us...

The forum software loves us right?... my fundamental beliefs revolve around this simple tenet... I'd be shattered to find out otherwise.

Therein lies the problem... we Dazonians are a simple, but complex people... we can endure great hardships and sharp poison stick related pokings (more on that in a moment), but our hearts are sometimes as fragile as glass... shattered like a bottle of cheap wine slipping from the grasp of some back alley drunk when we feel our love is not returned and we are forgotten, like that broken bottle lying on the pee soaked asphalt when the drunk realizes he's got another bottle in his other pocket...

After all we are just human...
If you poke us with a pointy stick, do we not bleed profusely?...

If you tickle us with that pointy stick, do we not laugh and then bleed all over the place?...

If you poison us by tickling us with that pointy stick covered in poison, do we not die laughing?...

If you wrong us by constantly poking us with poison covered sticks that eventually kill us, do we not come back from the dead as angry zombies seeking revenge and maybe a little bit of tasty brains.

Well, that got a little dark quickly...

Sorry, it's been a long Shakespeare and pointy stick filled week and I'm projecting again...

I think it would probably be beneficial and less work for the mods if they merged the threads into a thread that had a more umbrella title that covered the various problems that have currently become popular with the forum software...
I know if I encounter a problem, like for example how image uploading for Safari on iOS has been broken for at least four years or more (no joke, it's never going to be fixed), I wouldn't expect a thread titled "Can't redo my avatar" to contain any relevant information on whether it's a me problem (I'm a problem in general) or a problem for Safari in general, being that I don't even understand why someone would want to upload a ten foot tall blue cat person from Pandora, and thusly not expecting said thread to contain any relevant information on the beforementioned (new word) topic...

In that situation I or someone that looked surprisingly a lot like me, possibly even a clone I don't know about, might start a thread titled "Still no image uploading in iOS?" and if it were moved to a thread titled "Can't redo my avatar", or "The Toilet Seat In The Lavatory By IT is Still Broken", I (or that stupid clone) might be a bit confused and possibly gassy, though the gassieness probably wouldn't have anything to do with the thread merging and more to do with the two week old truck stop sushi I (or my clone) had the night before.

We might feel that our concerns and problems were being lumped together in a pile like a bunch of unsuccessful, "retired" clones to be buried in the woods behind that old shed with the angry raccoon in it and forgotten.

    Being forgotten hurts.

So does being poked with sharp poisoned sticks... in case anyone hasn't gotten that by now.

I think people and clones just need some sort of acknowledgment sometimes and maybe sometimes when threads are merged, thread titles might need readjustment to something that might be more relevant to our concerns so we don't feel like our problems are being buried like problematic clones.

I hope people (and perhaps some clones) can see what the basic concern here is.

Anyway... I've mostly forgotten why I started writing this, but I should go now before my original version realizes he left the clone vat open and I got out...

    Cheers.

Is this your way of telling me that there is no need to bring (or use in bringing) problems out in the open, we should just be grateful that we (atleast still) can log in and post meaningless comments like; Come on DAZ, do something about it?

Sorry, normally I'd laugh but at the moment I find it difficult;)

...and after re-reading what you wrote, I do find some good points in there:)

That's just my way of satirically or verbosely saying that lumping semi related (in this case "stuff is broken") threads together under a single title that doesn't really describe the problem universally, creates more threads about the subjects not described by the thread title, over and over for as long as the problem remains or until people stop complaining because they stop caring and just expect the forums to work like an abandoned late nineties website that's mysteriously still accessible.

I think it wastes the mods time and confounds forumites... It's probably against policy, but if I thought it would help, I'd make a thread called "Certain Forum features still broken in January 2023" or something better thought out, that might serve a better site to accumulate merged threads concerning recently broken features.

This has been an issue for many years... there's a problem and lots of unrelated (or semi-related) threads get merged into whatever original topic thread is deemed a sufficient holder... it's is discouraging when there is a frustrating problem, because your complaint or issue is lost in a rambling collection of posts that often make no sense or are confusing over time... it's especially confusing if you get a notification that someone responded to the thread you posted in and the response has nothing to do with what you posted about.

I'm assuming it's some sort of policy to clean up the forums, but it ultimately becomes a jumbled lost and found box full of unrelated mittens and socks nobody wants... plus the effect is that people feel problems are not going to be resolved and their concerns are being ignored.

And often people are told "DAZ is aware of the problem" in a jumbled thread like that, as if one's first instinct is to read through every post in every thread that might possibly be remotely related to their concern, before starting a new thread stating there's a problem.

I'm just making light of an ongoing forum issue... I honestly don't know if there is a point... maybe it's just a narcissistic desire to add my two cents to a topic and chuckle at my own perceived, but nonexistent cleverness.

I yell at inanimate objects that offend me and talk to random animals in the woods, so it's probably that last one.

I know I know, and I apologizeblush, been enjoying his posts for many years!!

Basically my rants are driven by disappointment and frustration, that's all, really. The DAZ store and the forums used to be a fun place to log into.

Indeed, and still no information from Daz 3D if or when it will work again. I noticed that it appears that a few could upload in the time between about 1 and 5 UTC/GMT.

A new minor problem has appeared: It looks like the number of views is not updating. The post I just started in Commons (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/615851/rip-david-crosby#latest) already has 6 comments but the number of views is still showing as 1.

Any action on the inoperative view counter? And, yes, we can have it all, like it used to be.

Wasn't there a bundle earlier with all the CB Etta stuff together? I could have sworn I wishlisted it but it now seems to be gone,

Yes, it had problems with its release yesterday and required manual intervention - I suspect the same is happening today. It has been flagged up.
