Similar to one of the other commenters in this thread, I also am unable to convert any shoes successfully with the G8-to-G9 Batch Converter. None of them. All will come out with warped appearances.  Attached is an example of the log file when an attempt was made to just convert one shoe product. I have tried with and without the Foot Converter.  All shoes come out a mess.  I don't understand what that Foot Converter is really supposed to be doing.  Is it somehow supposed to affect the shape of the shoes or just how they get attached to the character?

Notice that I also get this message when executing the program:
'data/RiverSoft Art/Common/RSClothingConversionFunctions.dse' could not be found in a mapped content directory. Check the installation and try again

Attached also is a Content Directory Manager screenshot.  I have uninstalled and then reloaded the program using Daz Installation Manager just in case something initially went wrong.

    Please advise.

Please understand that I know very little of the inner-workings of Daz Studio.  I have had no experience creating clothing, so my knowledge of clothing only consists of clicking on it to make it appear on my characters.  So any explanations of a solution have to be VERY precise and concise, avoiding any terminology that could be confusing.  For example, when you refer to a conversion "mesh" in the instructions, I don't understand what you mean.  When you talk about applying "conformers", I don't know how to do that.  I think I see what you mean when I click on a G8 clothing object and try to fit it to a G9 character, but I don't know what you mean when you say applying a conformer to a clothing item using this batch program.

It looks like the file RSClothingConversionFunctions.dse is missing from the zip.  I will need to make an update.  If you have any of the other clothing converters, the file is in those zips.  If not, PM me and I will give you a link to the file.

I was excited to get this clothing converter because it opens up many more options for getting clothing for Genesis 9 characters. I must be doing something totally wrong though, because so far the results seem pretty wonky. I tried testing it on a simple piece of clothing, the "Basic Wear Sports Bra" from Genesis 8 Starter Essentials. It came out looking pretty warped, as you can see in the first screenshot. I tried loading the uncoverted original on the same Genesis 9 figure without using the converter, just using the built-in autofit, and it came out way better (second screenshot). In both cases it was using the "Bodysuit (tight)" template. Any ideas?

With very tight items, like some underwear and bodysuits, autofit does and has generally worked better. When we designed the CC, we had to choose between underwear fitting right and literally anything else fitting right, so we went with trying to make the process work best with the things that autofit is worst at.

  • When I try to convert “dForce Kimono Outfit for Genesis 8 Female(s)” to Genesis 9, DazStudio shuts down.
How can I do a successful conversion?

Ok, I just tried this for all the parts of the dForce Kimono in Daz Studio 4.23.0.1, and it worked for me without crashing.  Which version of Daz Studio are you using?  What is the log?  (After the crash and BEFORE starting DS again, Go to "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Daz 3D\Studio4\log.txt" and only post the end of the log where you are trying to convert something)
