Thank you Yellow Pen.  Maybe you'll try rendering it.  Just change the colors or materials.  Everyone does something different.

    Yellow Pen : thank you.

I did hope, that I would have saved the 'explosion' version that I showed above as BR7 file. Unfortunately, this was one I did not save, but changed and I saved over this version. Sorry, cannot tell you how I made that and I do not think I can easily recreate it. These kind of things for me are mainly trial and error. I leave the scientific reasoning on how to do things to Horo :)

mermaid : outstanding renders, great idea.

  • HoroHoro Posts: 10,069

mermaid - both came out fantastic.

  • NGartplayNGartplay Posts: 2,794

Mermaid, these are stunning, lovely work.  I like how the first one looks like a shell.  So fitting for a mermaid.

Everyone, I am blown away by what you've done with such a simple file.  And you each did something so different from one another.  I just want to virtual hug you all for trying this.

Thanks Adbc, Horo and NGartplay for the cool comments.

Now to find some freebies so I can enter the current challenge.

Finally, I also gave it a try. Original file, nothing changed, except the materials of the lobed ring, the three spheres and the ground plane. I also replaced the HDRI. Was fun, thank you NGartplay for the file and the challenge.

Oh Horo, those are some lovely textures.  The colors all go to together so well.  Very pleasing.  I like that you changed out the HDRI.  There's a softness to the image that is lovely.

Mermaid, very good work. I specially love the second one. Looks like some alien fish or so.

    Horo, great textures.

Adbc - fantastic result, nothing like the original

Thank you NGartplay, Hansmar and mermaid.

adbc, a really wonderful variation; the original is unrecognizable, though I do recognize two spheres wink.

My next two are a bit more recognizable for what they were.

adbc, lovey and kind of dreamy.  It reminds me of a flower.

Hansmar, how do you do it?  Both of these are so unique and different.  I'm constantly amazed at what people come up with.  The first makes me wonder how you did it and the second looks like a shell and pearl.

I think that I did it.  I got something different..yay.  The red/orange one was an accident when I moved one sphere.  Kind of cool, though.

I call one 'lion fish' and the other one is 'rose'

Hansmar - two great variations. The first looks as if a sort of a distortion lens was used and the second looks like a big eye.

NGartplay - the red rose looks interesting and the lion fish looks just beautiful in the water.

  • Mermaid - beautiful, both.... my Favorit is the blue one.

    Horo - Nice Texture/Material, yes.

adbc - WOW. What you have done with this is excellent.

    Hansmar - both are fantastic.

NGartplay - beautiful both. I love the Lionfish. And... yes, I`ll try it too... but, don't know if I get a result what I can show.... wink

Hansmar, NGartplay, Yellow Pen : thank you.

Hansmar : two very different modifications of the original, both facinating.

NGartplay : the lion fish is beautiful and elegant, the rose is very pretty.

Thank you Yellow Pen, adbc and Horo.  It was everyone else's images that pushed me to do more.

The variety of these images is simply stunning. Great tweaking and contributions!

PS: I am glad that this thread is not a contest.... because it would be very hard to chose.

  • NGartplayNGartplay Posts: 2,794

I almost thought about making it a contest but I didn't want to lose anyone who might then not try.

    hubert : thank you.

Hansmar - thanks. Two fantastic results, I like both

NGartplay - you got beautiful results too, I like both

    Yellow Pen and Hubert thanks

NGartplay, Thanks and you really made it now: very beautiful variations and hardly understandable that these are still based on the same basis.

Horo, Yelow Pen, hubert, mermaid: thanks too.

This time I can show you the settings for the one with the red spikes in blue background. The texture of the big spherre was actually the texture of all the spheres.
