Sorry to necro post, but it seems the right thread to ask, since it is about this product....I just got this to use on G8F (iray), and it seems to work fine, so that's not the issue.
My problem is that I am using a skin shader (without a texture, though I added a plain white texture, else the blush made her have a red-face) and the eyeliner that looks black turns out red. I assume it has something to do with the transparency or something, but not sure. Anyone see this?
Click below for bigger, 1st is no makeup, 2nd is with blush, then I add eyeliner, but it comes out red, not black. I may be missing something of course. 90% of the time it is user-error
I believe Anna will more than likely to answer this as well but my thought is that the translucency layer is missing or is needed. I would try to manually add it via the LIE editor to the translucency channel and see if that fixes it.
OK, so I did some testing with the Translucency Weight and Color, and the eyeliner does go black if I set the weight to 0, or I set the color to black...but then the skin looks dead and lifeless. Setting it to white the eyeliner is red and the skin if very reddish. I have it set to 0.45 and a red color of 0.6,0,0, which looks best imo.
I was thinking the eyeliner should just layer the black on top of the skin texture/color I have?
It is definitely the translucency channel. Make sure to set the translucency back to the way it should be. I am not sure if you know how to use the LIE editor so I am gonna include some extra instructions:
Click on the translucency map box and scroll up to layered image editor. When the LIE editor opens up, click the plus sign, the click on add layer. The box will go black. Then click on the box labeled resource( it says none by default). Then browse to the folder runtime:textures:FWChevy. Locate the correct eyeliner map. Then hit accept.
This should fix this problem.
These makeups ( if I remember correctly) were designed to be used on top of another map in the translucency channel. And I am gonna take a guess and say Aiko( is that Aiko?) doesnt use a translucency map, and just uses color only. This goes for normals as well.
OK, I got it to work, but I first had to add a plain white.jpg as the translucency texture, and then manually do the above, so that it had something to layer on, I guess.
Since I had to add this to the translucency LIE, it made me think this is probably not just a problem with this character, and I think it's not. (using EL03 and EL04 as a test)
To test, I just loaded base G3F and put on the V7 iray mats. I then applied EL03 eyeliner, and it got red eyeliner as well, when applying it (see first attached) Was the scripts for that supposed to add the LIE portion to the translucency channel, as well?
If I add it manually like you say, the makeup works as expected on G3F/V7 (see second attached)
HOWTO: Apply Shader, look at LIE settings in the Base Color, and do the same for the Translucency Color, and then save and an L.I.E. Preset.
Ok.. I am pretty positive that it was designed to have the translucency and normals all added in to their proper channels. (FW did all the mats) I will forward all of this to FW and let her know what is going on. Ive been doing a lot of guessing, but seeing how this seems to be a newer problem that I have not seen before, I believe this may be due to an update Daz may have done. *shrugs*
I went ahead and bought it after 3D Outlaw posted. So glad I did! It's very cool and it DOES work with Genesis 8 Female. It takes a few seconds for the makeups to load. Other than that, it's super-easy to use. It's definitely worth buying.
I bought it mainly because I have been converting old Victoria 4 character MATs to Genesis 3/8 using Texture Transformer 2 and didn't want to bloat up my runtime with all the converted makeups and lipsticks. But I'll be using this extensively for Gen 3/8 characters as well.
@chevybabe25 - you should have them add Genesis 8 to the title and description. And, please release yet another product like this. Would love more lipsticks and natural makeup options. <3
@andolaurina - Glad to hear you are enjoying them :) I will look into adding the G8 to the description and title, and who knows.. maybe Forbiddenwhispers and I will a do a few more sets for g8.. we will see :)
@xyer0 - ooo I really like that! Ill add that to the potential wishlist!

This is Sakura 8, but it is an iray variant of the Subsurface Toon Skin shader from the Daz Store. I'll try that and let you know, thanks
Excellent :0)

Thanks for the follow-up and the great customer support! I can manually add them in, it's not a huge deal.
You are very welcome :)
Will this work on Genesis 8 Females, too?
Cool! Good to know.
Will this work with G8F?

Sure would like more of these. I've been trying to get an approximation of Hela's makeup to no avail. But you guys could do it!

@chevybabe25 Thanks so much for listening! I hope it makes the cut.
You are so very welcome :)
@chevybabe25 In the midst of all your eye/facial hair fabulousness, have you forgotten about the makeup?
Going to do anything like this for the males?
Im really feeling the love here :)
@xyer0 I am actually working on something right now ( not a seperate makeup pack though) that I know you will love!!!
@inquire. Whatcha got in mind? Can you throw some ideas at me please?
Ooh yeah! Sounds exciting! Maybe a character? You're waaaaaay past due for one, you know.
you may be on the right track ;)
