Thank you for your nice comment! It was not so easy as it seems.
More cheaper way is to use 3d coat retopo tools:

Quixel Mixer is now free
https://quixel.com/mixer
if you want to use your own textures you can and it includes quite a few too
you can use megascans free if rendering in Unreal Engine otherwise those subscription
How work?? Give your OBJ and Mixer apply the texutres? Create the UV Map?
not a UV mapper
a seamless texture mixer
you can create new textures from texture maps
some sites you can grab PBR textures from instead of subscribing to Megascans

another video on it
you can import a 3D model too and mix your textures on it as well as plane, cube, sphere etc like Carrara texture room
of course if you have inagoni baker you can do this stuff in Carrara too like I do

The very longed bridge is here.
But it's for Blender 2.79 only.
A great alternative to Substance Painter now that Adobe has its hands on it !
A great find, Wendy.
used together with Materialize to create the PBR maps Adobe can keep their subby stuffs
Haven't tried this one but saw it in action in a tutorial video ... nifty utility to display the keys being used! Free lite and $pro editions ... n.b. the PASSWORD for the zip.

Thank you. Downloading now. Some might like to know that it is a 3.4G download.
Oh, can layer sounds in win10 visual editor. was wondering how to put sound effects on top of background music
Wendy, thank you, for the heads-up on the Quixel Mixer stand-alone -- I have been waiting for this - still haven't gotten around to download UE yet...

Came here for my Cararra needs, but since you posted that link, I should point out that I already updated it to 2.8x (there is a thread about it here in 'The Commons') and am making continual improvements for usability. So far, I am the only user, as no one has stepped up for beta testing (though, claims it's so sad that it is only for 2.79). Also, I am not the original author - just took up the mantle for porting, and making it a little more user friendly (such as no hand editing the files to make work, error-checking, and some setup automation).
However, it is not the 'long awaited' Blender/DS Bridge that everyone is clamoring for -- It is only a Morph Target/Shape Key bridge for easier IN/OUT between the two programs like others that have come before it.
* EDIT: Thank you, Catherine, for the heads-up on the Q.M. download file size -- That makes a difference for me for where I can download it - I have to rebuild my broken FatDog64 Linux USB that allowed me to download files up to 7G - For now I am stuck on only allowed up to 1.6G while loaded in memory. Thanks again!
I am not always fond of bridges
goZ for DS has never worked as well as just obj exports from Zbrush for morphs and I am much the same with Blender which I have successfully used to create morphs from with obj export too, Carrara has no bridge either but obj works fine.
I do like easier ways to move rigged stiuff between programs but never have gotten the Blender Diffomorphic plugin to work.

maybe useful to some
May I ask which thread?
Here is the thread, Imago :

And, Wendy, great find -- thank you for the link to the new nVidia Texture Tools stand-alone. I have the old Legacy ones for PS 5, but this looks much better to work with. Thanks again, you're the best -- stay safe, down-under...

Good one Wendy, Thanks
is there a way to batch unzip so it all goes to it's original folder names?
i go to the trouble of saving my prod downloads to it's product name
thanks!
P3DO 2.8 20th anniversary ist out now.
Yup, I just bought the shareware upgrade. The main feature for me is the mocap previews, including Poser format mocaps. Now it is much improved as the attached image shows. In previous versions, a mocap where the figure moves away from the center a lot resulted in the figure moving out of the window, so a lot of zooming and panning was necessary. No more.
This Quixel Mixer looks like an amazingly good catch! Thanks to @WendyLuvzCats for pointing it out.
thus the s/w can swap a thumbnail in carrara file?
I think so. Check here:
https://www.senosoft.com/carrara_file_manager.php
@Mystiarra, the BVH and obj-mesh previewers are worth the price of entry by-themselves, and the other *many* features are quite useful as well.
It also let's you peruse a zipfile, without having to open it - good for reviewing/sorting your large unsorted freebie folders ("what was that file that I downloaded 3 months ago?")
And it will convert all of the Carrara 'rsr' thumbs to PNGs - in batch/entire directories - if I recall correctly.
And he's working on better DAZ file support now, so given the nature of almost all DAZ releases now, the native support is helpful, even if we don't use DS as our primary tool.
Worth the full price, let alone the current 50% off.
(And I get no kick-backs either! - just a happy user)
cheers, (YMMV)
