Bacon not the thick stuff

King of Burgers | Daz 3D  so the bacon is a tad on the thin side...pretty limp too. What is that "meat" that looks red with the white lines?

that meat looks like raw tuna to me, OK for a sashimi burger I guess but odd shown with the meat patty as well

Tuna is mentioned in the product description.

I have a few problems.  I'm being critical, yes.  But I'm a burger afficionado and well, details matter!  First off, I've been trying for about 40 years now, to get grill marks on the edges of my burger patties.  Never once has happened, not even if I tried grilling them on their edges!  Second, the sesame seeds would never wrap all the way to the underside of the top bun.  And the bottom bun shoulkd not have seeds.  They would have just burned in the bun pan while baking!  In my opinion, the bun should be modeled as it would be baked.  As one model, which would then be cut into two, like we would slice a burger bun after it was baked.  You don't bake top buns and bottom buns separately.  You put the dough into the receptacle of the bun pan and THEN you put your poppy seeds or sesame seeds on it.  THEN you bake it, THEN you slice it.

Now I'm hungry for a burger, made on a righteous bun, toasted please.  laugh

I thought the same thing about those magically wrapped around grill lines. It kind of ruins any believability. no

The texturing is not very convincing on the meat portions. Unfortunate.

Tuna fish ~ maguro... I've never tasted a burger of beef + tuna.. Beside, sesame seeds look a bit strange, seems the bump / normal maps are more likely not correct...

Exnem Burgers for DAZ and IRAY at Renderosity may be a more convincing option.

Exnem's are quite good. He's got several food-related sets over at Rendo.

I didn't realize it was supposed to be a patty. I figured it was just a thick, surprisingly uniformly-striped slice of red onion.

I thought so too; but then I saw it was labeled as meat in one of the promos.

    That was my thought too.

The idea of raw fish of any stripe on a hamburger is just... wrong. As for the bun, well, I have seen better from the 3DL sets. And I like a basic burger, with almost crisp bacon folded and swiss cheese.

...I spent several years proofreading dissertations, articles, and abstracts in medical journals that the company I worked for transferred to CD-ROM format for medical centre libraries to make sure they were accurate word for word before we published them. To this day I never will eat any form of raw fish.

I'd be open to a burger-style sandwich with sashimi on it, or even seared tuna...in fact, I may have already had one. But I can't imagine it being any good with burger patties.

...well MickyD's did have  their "Fillet O Fish" and Burger Sling their "Whaler."   Of course those were breaded patties of ground up fish of some sort that was deep fried.

I do like a Filet-o-Fish, but that's as far from sashimi as you can get while still technically eating fish (probably).

I decided to never try raw fish & steak tartare (raw ground beef, more or less) by getting a Zoology degree  - lots of parasites are covered during invertebrate coursework - plus working as a microbiology tech for years.

Duh, this is Daz, Vicky wrapped the burger in her fishnet stockings before grilling and flipped the burgers with her sword.

to be fair the original Aussie cuisine was a steak sandwich with the lot

we then applied that to the American sandwich called a hamburger when it invaded our shores

I recall a time before fast food franchises here back in the late 1960s as a kid about 7 eating a steak sandwich with the lot at a truck stop at Tailem Bend and my Mum scolding me for stuffing the whole thing in my mouth

the hamburger didn't exist in my world yet

Pineapple is popular on pizza in the US, and while I wouldn't call it common, pineapple on burgers is not unheard of, usually if it's a teriyaki burger or some such.

And we are considered strange as we like pineapple in our pizza too here in Santaland.

Then there's also TruForm with his OLEO Food packs (Burger, Chicken and Pizza). The Burger one contains some 16 pre-made burger variants but also all the stuff to make your own variants. Optically not high-res (IIRC) but nice as props for a fast food shag setting

There's a definite split over it in UK.

The main noise about it though is coming from Italy, who are most upset (stronger words needed here) about what the Americans have done to pizza.

I thought pizza was considered politically incorrect these days?

    I've not heard that.

It can't be politically incorrect. A slice of pizza is considered by the FDA as 'One of your Five a Day'. Probably meat portions, but I only thought it referred to fruit & veg.

    Regards,

    Richard

I think it is the tomato sauce got it the category of vegtable?

But I have had two places where I love to go where they have burgers taken to the extremes, one where the burger is offered from A to Z, the other with a basic set and then a monthly special which I often just say 'No!' to. Like the PB&J burger for the start of the school year.

I will eat a Wendy's basic small cheeseburger, avoid the other chains.

If you eat hamburgers, then you should try one with a fried egg on it before you decide you don't like it.
