I just got the Garibaldi Hair program for Daz Studio that they are now offering for free Yay!!!

Here is my first hair I made with that program.

Just to note: This program only works with G1&G2 (M&F) figures. (Also Big Cats and domestic cats)

I think as I learn more about this program I will be much better then this first hair giggles!!

I am going to play around with it more later and see how it goes lol

DId you enable progressive when rendering? If you didn't, worth a try, certainly cut my rendertimes by 500%;)

  • SaphirewildSaphirewild Posts: 6,669

Oh yes I did I think that progressive rendering is amazing!!

Am loving the Garibaldi hair experiments by Saphire and Sven.  Almost looks like FK Design Parish hair at that other store.  Creating hair is a wonderful way to make characters unique.  Please keep the updates coming!  I've been experimenting with using a free plugin to convert Carrara dynamic hair to obj, and then to Studio, but always looking for more options.

Hey, Saph. The amount of light on you lighthouse looks good, but there is an awful lot of blue. In you color picker for the light (I'm assuming 3DL), pull the plus sign down towards the bottom to make the light more white. Make your lighthouse light fixture surface pale yellow on the Ambient surface so it looks like its glowing. If you have a linear pointlight, it looks as though it can't shine through the light house light fixture geometry. You will have to surround it with linear pointlights - one on the front and back should work, so the lights are just above the surface of the light fixture. Turn the percentage WAY up, like 500% or so, because it must be very bright, and oversaturate the fixture. Let's see how your next render looks.

Aah so that's  a shadow on the backdrop, you need to apply UberSurface to it and disable "accept shadows" if you want to get rid of it, or move the backdrop away, or  change light angle! Or, if you want to keep the DS default shader, insert the diffuse color also into the ambient color, ambient strength to 100% and diffuse strength to 0%, spec. strength to 0% so the backdop is not affected by the scene lighting. Could work;)

You could also try to reduce diffuse strength for the water to just 20-30%, and set refraction index to 1.3, refraction strength to 100%, and tint refraction color with blue/green. Would behave more like real water!

Only guessing, of course, maybe you used some othe shaders, but those look like the DS default.

It was outta the box kinda render with the fixation on the lighting mostly but I did notice the shadows on the back drop after I had already rendered out them both.

(Was distracted by the muchkins running around the house pretending to be superheros!!)

So I will take it back into daz and redo it with your settings and see how it turns out.

I will post as soon as it is done!
