After upgrading to the new daz public build (the one with the new splash, without subscription), daz studio become slightly unstable on my side.
1 - I have a scene with 4 cubes and 4 cylinders. If I merge it, it opens. If I open it via "open recent" menu, daz crashes without any crash window:

2- My fresh Gescon II plugin suddenly started crashing with the new build. Just previous day, before the upgrade, it was all fun and games. Now, can't do a difference operations bigger than 5-6 precision (with adaptability always 1.0, precision depending on object). On lower precisions, animation started crashing after 30th frame or so.
Always same crash (SS1).
What would be happening?
Normal cubes and cylinders?
Sorry, 4 cubes and 4 cylinders.
Cubes are thickened via Thickener plug-in.
Cylinders are normal cylinders.
Very important: The scene opens if I merge in.
No problem here. Could you please attach your scene containing just the cubes and cylinders, and I'll see what happens.
As for the Gescon issue, maybe that's for the Gescon thread so that the PA can be of help.
Weird, I just solved file open isue by merging the file in, "Save As" on top of itself "without compression". The problem went away. It now opens via open recent menu...
Edit: I re-opened the latest file, saved as on top of itself again with compression. It now works. I have no idea what happened there. But file open - crash is now gone.
Done that, thanks. I've got a lot of stuff installed, some with content wizzard. And I've added metadata and fixed the occassional product along the way. Surprising it works at all.
If you get a chance to look and if you find anything unusual in your set up I'd be grateful if you post so that I can check mine.
It's not useful, sadly. Unless you want to wait six months and then get silly answers like "Probably it's already fixed, lol, I'm closing this" when the issue is still there.
Anyway, I found the source the problem, I'm investigating why it happens.

So, what was the culprit ?
Just installed 4.23 GR and PB in DIM, but they don't appear to be anywhere on my computer. Even when I click the button in DIM to launch 4.23, it just launches 4.22.
edit: uninstalled and reinstalled, and now it's working, so....
It's the FBX exporter. I disabled and reenabled it and it works again.
Now I have to find why it initially stopped working, so I can add it to my "check list" when the plugins stops working (and it happens very often)
Oh... I never thought of that but I did know there were glitches these days about plugins when I completed updating 4.23 Public Build for 3 times ~~ ouch !
Decimator plugin was auto disabled... Premier plugins didn't work with a static reminder of restarting DS... restarting DS... restarting DS ~~
Finally, just got them worked ! Fainted ~~
I think it moves a lot faster. And the autofit that puts a whole outfit on without multiple clicking on each piece - niiiice. So far, knock wood, the only issue I've had is somehow some of my assets need to be reinstalled when I click to load them in scene. Not a huge deal, but interesting that they didn't switch over with the update. Anyone else experiencing that? Where you click a character or an outfit, and it asks you to close the scene down as if you're loading a new one? Weird.
Found it. Issue with the smart content path on Xi pirate ship that I recently installed. It installed a smart content item in /props instead of default/props and created a new sub categorie. Changing the smart content path for the item and deleting the errant sub categorie got me back up to speed.
Developer Tools... is broken in DS 4.23.0.4 Public Build. Clicking the button in the Parameters pane does not display the developer tools pane now. There is a syntax error (missing comma at the end of line 62?) in !G9 Dev Tools.dsa. After that, it looks like a whole line of code might be missing. I stopped investigating closely when the debugger reported the syntax error.
It would also be nice to get a fix to a related error that I reported to the help request system in May 2023 (over a year ago, that never got a human customer service response! )

Since the update I noticed a very annoying problem of a parameter bug when importing OBJ files. By default the scale is set to 100.000000%, forced to manually set each time to 100% because it is impossible to save a custom parameter, the scale always returns to this crazy value of 100.000000% Is an update planned to solve this?

@Richard Is there any chance we can get the Iray changelog updated? I can't find anything on 4.23.x.x release.
Anyone else's studio unusable since the update to 4.23.0.1? Environments won't load and when they do, nothing shows up in the scene panel. Smart content and content library won't show anything. I've tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling but nothing has worked. I see there is a 4.23.0.4 out but the install manager still installs .0.1.
I skipped DS General Release 4.23.0.1 'cause I always use duo versions, GR + PB. 4.23.0.4 is the latest Public Build, I found it works well, so suggest you install it.
The issue you described seems odd. If you find the same issue with Public Build, i.e. both versions don't work, that'll be more likely non-DS issue...
I installed 4.23.0.1 Public Build before 4.23.0.4 Public Build came out, and I did not have those problems with 4.23.0.1.
I'm getting a colossal amount of crashes in these last releases of DAZ Studio when I use Mesh Grabber 3 in the scenes. Every scene that contains something that I morphed with that plugin and I forgot to bake to moprh, makes DAZ Studio crash every time I load something new in that scene or when I load another scene.
Am I right when I guess we will not get a fix to this?
