Still, the monthly fee for Premier is a bit too high IMHO. It's not that I'm in a hurry or something (my Daz+ sub ends in one year), but at the moment I don't feel very inclined to move to Premier, and the monthly price is not the only reason. I'm not a fan of the exclusive features inside the application only for Premier subscribers either.
I was just looking at current pricing when I said $9 more. I've had quite a few years of DAZ+ with substantial discounting, and I had a couple of those $17 renewals myself. I've been grabbing the G3 stuff for free as well and will go back to that a lot more. I have a ton of characters, but unless you;re doing closeup stuff, most of them dont matter at all from a distance. In reality its a waste of money buying tons of characters. I see it more of a collection than needed. Same with a lot of the products here. Once I get over my habit of spending here, I will be much more content on using what I have. The ultimate sale
my subscription has expired on 22 November. I'm not renewing Premier, and see DAZ+ as overall not worth it at the price either, especially when so many of us were already complaining about the value lessening way before this huge price increase.
Oh, yeah. While I'm not sure what I'll do regarding the Premier plan once my current paid Daz+ sub ends, I'm almost certain that I won't renew Daz+ at the current state of things.
As I mentioned elsewhere, I am passing on Bundle for a Buck. All 3 skins look really weird on the legs & buttocks. In the full promos there are large areas of reddish skin, and the tops of feet are unnaturally bright. I can't tell if it's the skins themselves or lighting. Plus I've got enough Asian female figures. The only reason I'd consider buying it is if you want to keep up punches, and I'm not playing that game.
That's how I'm looking at it. I'll keep my Premier membership during these sales, and stop it when there's a lull. I prefer this flexibilty as it allows me to put my membership to better use. I have been enjoying this sale.
I purchased the bundle, though I only installed the Winneq character. For the princely investment of $1.00, I have a pretty cool looking character to work with. I can't comment about the other characters in the bundle, but Winneq doesn't have reddish skin- she's on the pale end of the spectrum I would say. Even so, for a $1.00 I was willing to use any skin from my library to make it work.
I've still got a handful of months left of Daz+
But there is absolutely no way i'll be renewing it, with the monthly fee instead of a potential discounted yearly fee it already seeming bad.
Then you consider that Daz+ is now largely a dead tier, all the focus and worthwhile offers are Daz P, so you may as well be Daz Nothing over Daz + quite frankly as bad as prices are then you're getting that for free
i see no sale. I say that becasue with Base Membership, it isn;t that much of a deal. Its near imposssible to accumulate tokens at 1 per $15, unless you spend a lot, you have no coupons in your account, and the DO and everything discounts are much less right up front. Like I've said, if you're going to buy even close to a hundred a month, its necessary to have a membership, and not its Premier that gives by far most bang for the buck.
Once earned it is applied automatically the next day,
I'd have skipped that bundle even for a buck. Not interested in those characters
Would've been nice if they'd at least given D+ members a crack at it for $2 or something.
Not that I would have gotten it, but judging by most of the content on Daz, my tastes don't align with most. I'm sure some D+ folk would've welcomed it.
@SilverGirl I agree!
I already have some characters from that artist, I think the early characters have more charisma than this one dollar bundle.
LIGHTNING DEALS are a good choice for Punch Cards.
Lightning Deals. I don't usually pay attention to them as 60% off is nothing special as Daz sales goes. But for the last few days I've been checking them out evey 3 hours to see if there is anything worthwhile, since the sales have been stacking for 80-86% off. And I've yet to see anything tempting my gift card balance. Nothing is related to any previous purchases, for example if there are texture packs or add-ons, they aren't for anything that I own. There is also never anything from my wishlist. There is nothing related to even my browsing history. They are literally the things I would least likely buy or want. I dont think the selections are "curated" at all, despite being promoted as that. They just seem totally random. I just got offered the "Callie 6 Starter Bundle" for example, and I already own the "Callie 6 Pro Bundle" which I bought like 8 years ago.
I'm convinced my LD are completely random and have nothing to do with my purchase history. Most of the time half the items are for software I don't use (Poser and ancient DAZ). The thing is, they do include something often enough that I can use. Right now it's offering me an FE Netto hair for G9 for $1.95- 92% discount.
LD's prices are very good during sales and as for items it's like a draw, if there's a good sale that day I'll fill up the cart and then check LD until the last update of the day.
I often get up in the middle of the night to check, one time I even saw items in the shopping cart entering LD.
Like I have to buy something every day recently, and I have no interest in Daily Holidaz Deal. LD is the best choice.
Fortunately, there are several good things that are 90% off every day.
DO free-or-discount advent calendar is back!
Both items today were on my wishlist, and it doesn't look like it requires a buy-in! Woot!
Good to see I'm not the only one still enjoying the older stuff! I'm crossing my fingers some of the G2 stuff on my wishlist pops up in my advent :) It's a shame that a lot of the items I want are so pricey, but they are gorgeous.
I mainly renewed for a year for this sale, so I was happy to check at 7AM my time and see the advent. I guess I checked in a bit too early as originally the paid option was 7 bucks, but now it's 2.99 - same as last year I think. So that's great, and I hope I can get some good deals.
I'm also done with buying figures unless they really add something special to the gene pool. Mainly I'm still picking up bits and bobs for genres I'm lacking in - namely contemporary scenes and hair dos.
...pretty much what I usually get in LDs are old items like characters and clothing and poses for Gen4 as well as Genesis 1 or 2 along with textures for clothing content I don't own.
As to amking the Daz+ tier more worthehile, how about at least increasing the coupon value to 8 USD?
That would certainly be a good idea so as not to annoy Daz+ members too much and drive them away. Similarly with Premier: the DO coupons for Premier customers are ok, but don't do the maths on the $10 coupon you can use on the $25 minimum purchase. You used to get a $6 discount on purchases of $18 or more, but now you have to shop for $7 more to get a coupon that's only $4 higher than the old Daz+ coupon. Well.... Again, Daz could be more generous and add the new items to the eligibles, for example.
Since i was out for a while, first time for me on this promo.
What are the two items you see? I only see one
------------
Today finally i see a decent discount on gift card. Not wow, but at least 20% covers the cost of the premier buy in.
Now, in general this 'sale' feels too much like a gamble. Spendening each day to make the punch discount to see if one finally gets to use it is a risk. And i feel i will waste $ on items i don't really need just to keep it, making the potential discount less apealing.
Maths always depend on what you're calculating.
It's true, you have to shop for at least $7 more. But it's equally true that you have to spend at least $3 more and that $6 out of $18 is a 33% discount while $10 out of $25 is a 40% discount.
Last year, each day (if you had punch in your card I think, no idea if it's the same this year), you were presented with a choice: either get the free item (and find something else to buy to keep the ball rolling) or get the paid item for $2.99, getting a punch along the way.
The items were picked in your wishlist, among the Daz Original costing less than ~$30-35 and old enough (I don't think we were able to determine the threshold, but this year, I got a textures pack from one of the Joan 9 bundles as one of my two choices for today so at least items from the beginning of Genesis 9 are eligible) or, if you didn't have enough Daz Originals, randomely among eligible Daz Originals (the system was likely made to avoid people being able to have only two Daz Originals in their wishlist to be sure to have them chosen).
If you're wishlist is empty, I can only suggest to place enough Daz Originals you would like to have, old enough and under $30-35 in it and each day, the script will chose two randomely deciding as randomely which would be the free one, which would be the $2.99 one. As far as I remember, once picked, an item will never be picked again.
The items vary by person &, unlike LD, *often* are on your wishlist, although not the priciest & always DOs. (Some of us, once we caught on, added to our respective WLs & have done so again this year :D ) However they may not always be from your WL. Today my freebie was a texture for a G2 outfit I don't own, & never had interest in; my $2.99 was ferns, which is on my WL. Guess which I will get?
Do you only see 1 when you click on the package? If so, report in the Sales Reporting thread, or even consider a ticket.
Yep, same here. Yay!
