    Dearest all , as of 23-04-2016 .

    Support suggested  to me to uninstall CMS, after all troubleshooting and failed attempts  this might cause the Daz 4.9 problems I am experiencing;

    --------------------

    Hi Peter,

Please check you Programs list in the Windows Control Panel and look for DAZ Content Management Service there. If it's listed, please uninstall it then try installing again.

    ------------------

But  I could not find DAZ Content Management Service listed as an installed application anywhere in the Control Panel-programms( See attachements)
I did find , strange enough, DAZ Content Management Service running  in the Task Manager.

Support asked me to look for the CMS uninstaller in ' C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\Content Management Service\Uninstallers' . I did find something (see attachment) but I cannot execute the uninstaller by double clicking it, a pop-up appears with the question with what app I want to 'open' it (??)

Anyone know what is going on here? Any suggestions?

    Please let me know.
    Cheers

That would be the folder for the old Valentino (?spelling) CMS which appears to have been un-installed and that is a safe to delete left over folder.  PostgreSQL is the new CMS and was probably installed through DIM.  What is in the "DAZ 3D" and "DAZStudio4" folders that are not under the "Program Files" folder?

That Daz 3d folder contains a folder named  Content Management Service-folder and that folder has a folder named Databases. Databases is empty.

There is only a DazStudio4 folder  underneath the Daz3d folder in Programm files , that folder contains Faceshop files (in all its submaps, bin/pligins/resources)
I really don't know how these get there, all was done by Daz auto-istall and/or DIM.....

PS; only once a while this page let me upload files(this sucks so much)  so unfortunate screenprints are not available

I think it is time for you to start over.  All of your problems seem to me to be the result of not setting up DIM correctly.  I have to keep saying this; DIM only does what you the end user lets or tells it to do.

Everything is checked by Daz, all settings/paths are OK , I did DB maintenance , all possibilities, Resetted database countless times uninstalled/ istalled everything , all this for a moth now. Problems where not resolved. Daz support actualy acknowledges the issues I (and the unlucky few ) are facing , these were well known when launching Daz 4.9 Pro. Even worst, Daz 4.9 Pro worked perfect on my side until all of a sudden it cracked up after an 'update' of some sort  via that Daz Connect nonsense.

Dim does its thing but Daz 4.9 Pro Connect does not handle that thing DIM does as it is supposed to.

While I'm all for stopping piracy (I'm an author whose books have been pirated before so I know the pain), I won't ever go with 4.9. I'll stick with 4.8. DAZ Connect is too much a nightmare.

  • I have managed to resolve this frustrating problem, at least in Windows. First, reset the Database in Daz using Database Management and close Daz. Then click the START button and type Postgre in the search box which opens. Then when results appear, click "Show more results" to open the results in a new window ( If you don't, the search box closes when you delete something and you have to begin again) In the results Window, delete all instances of Postgre which have the DSX  ending. Then go to Daz and login to your account, ( the Daz site, do not open Daz Studio). Choose your products and list alphabetically. Find PostgreSQL and click on it to open the product information. Choose to download and install for you type of Windows, 32 bit or 64 bit  using Install manager. When you start Daz again after installation, it works and there will be a yellow bar in the bottom left as the database is rebuilt.

Ok I have installed all via DIM in 4.9 Pro, but for some reason V4.2 is not installed correct. I unistalled it again. Installed it again. Even added it manually and still no change. If anyone had this issue, let me know of the solution. Thank you.

Just checking - you did deinstall the postgresql, and rebooted, before installing 4.8?

It might also help do kill off the actual database in the appdata/roaming folder.

Agree; I use 4.9 with the SQL parts uninstalled and deleted from computer; Connect and DRM, no thanks.

@ amira;  Where exactly are you installing V4.2 to?
