did popeye and olive have a baby together?

Actually 1, 2, or 4 depending on which particular cartoon you watched. surprise  No, I'm not a Popeyephile but I do have a few DVD collections of his cartoons.  Can't think of the titles of the particular cartoons right now.

But as long as we're talking about Popeye I think one of his best (and longest -- 17 minutes) was from 1937 (same year as Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves")  set in Arabia featuring Popeye, Olive Oyl, and Wimpy and Abu Hassan & the 40 thieves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJbj6TBYgf0  Now days it would probably be banned on TV for cultural reasons as were a lot of early cartoons.

Found a couple of Popeye & baby movies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0DVD5ECEv4 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVTOY-X4JLs

Oops, here's another longer one from 1939, (21 minutes) telling a story of Aladin's Lamp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EsRZG_dRkw

Oops again, here's an older one from 1936 (16 minutes) featuring Sinbad the Sailor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmPIUe8gcgQ

My humble opinion is that the early ones were great.  The newer ones (1960s+) suck royal swamp water.

Also, I've never been able to catch any on screen credits for the voices.  Lots of producers, directors, animators, music composers, etc. but no voices.

That's not Tyr!  This character was played by Steve Bacic.  Tyr Anasazi was played by Keith Hamilton Cobb.

And she's not the android, she was Bekka.  The android was Andromeda Ascendant, played by Lexa Doig.

I think she (?) was an orphan, an abandoned baby.  Not sure, though.

Here is the render that took forever it seemed.

Worth the wait.  Was that white sand, or did a material go missing?

Yes, I think you're right.   I think I remember that in the Popeye live action movie with Robin Williams and Shelly Duvall the baby was orphaned.  But the same baby image as above was in the cartoons and comic books too.  I think I remember one where the baby crawls away and gets into a skyscraper construction zone facing all sorts of dangers but emerging safely, while Popeye didn't fare so well until he got his Spinach.

When I was a kid I used to read all the Popeye comic books I could get my hands on.  Hmmm..., maybe I am a Popeyephile! surprise

in Season 5, Harper put fragments of Romi's core in Doyle.  Romi came back for the last few episodes. They were cute together.

Rhade was the resideent Knee-chee-un after Tyr left.

Swee'pea was "born" in 1933 in E.C. Segar's Thimble Theatre. Swee'pea (a boy-kid) was left on Popeye's doorstep in a box, an "orphink" like Popeye himself.

An excellent fallback is "Put a call in to the HelpDesk and someone will come look at that for you."  Or, as I've done before, pretend you're on your cell phone and wave them off, pointing to your phone.  They appologize and leave you alone. laugh

    ee haaa

just found out i qualify for incentive bonus. xeon hexacore, here i come.

except i've run into an access record locking bug.  editing a memo field with over 2K characters can give a false record locking error.  being the only one logged in, and only one form open, it tells me 3188.

    >.<  better not spend the bonus right away.

The "What makes you think that?" question makes them restate the problem more in terms of their detailed observations rather than their unprofessional preliminary diagnosis.  It's a simple way to get them to engage and contribute thoughtfully to the solution rather than accusingly drop it all on your shoulders. enlightened

And I just liked to see them squirm! devil

..yeah I belive in having "overhead". That means the memory sticks are not being pushed to their limit during a CPU render so better longevity.

Halfway decent RAM memory sticks do not wear out.  When they fail it's either because of a latent manufacturing defect, voltage spikes, improper power voltages, improper handling, excessive cabinet heat or excessive removal/insertion damaging the connectors.

After the first 6 months, any infant mortality issues (manufacturing defects) should have been exposed.

Use of a good UPS and a high quality power supply and lots of fans do the most to assure RAM life well beyond that of the computer itself. enlightened

That being said... you can never have too much memory or storage.  Just make sure the power & voltage levels are spot on and stable and you have adequate cooling. smiley  Adding more memory, even if you don't use it, adds more base level heat to the cabinet. surprise

What?  Are you are not amazed at the big breakthrough that Nixie Tubes were?  surprisesad

Peggy Lee asked the same question:  "Is that all there is?"  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sWTnsemkIs

One day 10,000 years ago Og came up to Charlie and showed him his new invention he called "the wheel".  Charlie looked bored and asked "Is that all it does?". smiley

Nixie tubes were pre-LED technology.  They used a tube filled with neon gas that glowed around a number shaped charged wire mounted on a stack of 10 transparent supports. enlightened

I remember in college that we spent quite a while using pencil & paper for learning logic circuit design and how to design a transister flip-flop circuit to drive the elements of a nixie tube by converting a four bit binary input into a one of ten output signal.  Back then computers didn't design logic circuits, people did.  With their brains. cool

There's a lot of physics in a Nixie tube.   And it was certainly more convenient than the alternatives at the time. indecision
