Sorry this is a rush job. Am on sabbatical...

Its mainly the ToonPart111 renderer that comes with Carrarara. Its pretty versatile.

I overlayed a toonpro outline on it in post.

I used daz bugle and used vwd to melt it on Lukes head. Also daz bongo drums for eyes and a texture I found on the net demonstarting a music font was placed over lukes face texture with an add ? multiplier.

The clefs over the eyes are a text object.

Included is the no post and the setup image.

Title 'The Boy With Bong(o) Eyes'

If it qualifies would someone mind posting it in the entry thread if that's okay as I will have no internet connection for a while. Thanks :)

Stezza - it's up to you, but I think that both of your images are easily worthy of an entry, very imaginative and great work!

First draft of my first entry here. I'm kind of mixing up an old commercial and the "Monsters of Rock" tour for a monster-listening-to-rock image  Listening to music like this in my twenties is why I am half deaf in my 40's. wink

    scene setup

    post-worked render

I think I am going to change the composition a bit by moving the monster and chair further away from the speakers and stretching the whole image horizontally, but this is probably pretty close to what it will end up as.  The Carrara screenshot above shows what I think is going to be the final composition. The fur is two pieces of Carrara hair, one for the base fur and a second one with fewer, but longer, hairs being blown by a scene force. The room, speakers. chair and monster were all modeled in Carrara and textured in Substance Painter and the monster was kind of roughly rigged in Carrara so I could sit him down.  I have to play with the weights a little though because his feet are really messed up.

I've got two other ideas for possible entries, one is pretty abstract and one is a more straight-up image of the band.  We'll see if I get inspired to actually work on them though.

I can't recall that ad here in Oz... but a blast of a start there @mdo2010

Headwax.. that so reminds me of myself back in primary school with the nuns getting us to up the tempo in the choir !!! arggghhhh!

Thanks PhilW.. maybe the first one but the second one I can't load back up so can't get screen captures of the setup.. dunno why it won't load up.. maybe the hellish temperatures we are having here on the east coast of Oz that has something to do with it!

doesn't matter, I don't mind just posting my renders this month and having fun yes

how hard is it to get facial morphs working to make M4/G/G2 to look like a pop star from the past!... frown

Might depend on how much your chosen pop star looks like a 3D character!

Thought I'd have a go at creating the Crater Critters made famous in the 60's by collecting them in the cereal packs.. see the image .. those old enough may remember them.

I had the set when I was a kid yes

It's not an easy task and frustrating at times getting these to look something like they should!

They will be the Crater Critter Choir laugh

I may keep playing with the color, but the rendering is done on my first entry"Rock Monster."

Here's the raw render from Carrara:

    Here's a couple post-worked variations that I Ilike:

Modelled all the critters, jelly fish, crater terain and the fishbone ( which makes a reappearance )

Used the text tool for the music notes.. Kingly Critter ( the one with the crown ) I modelled a while ago for the size matters challenge.. It's taken this long to get the others kind of done.
