    Po-boy's are great.

I wish we had a po-boy place nearby. Ken's Tacos And More only has tacos, enchiladas, and cold subs (sometimes hot cheesesteak but not all the time).

There's nothing else within walking distance...

wuh oh Winter Storm Nemo: Nor'easter Looms

time to stock up on the po'boys and non-perishables.

maybe living in a solar powered yurt would make more sense.

or maybe not. this says needs a concrete base.

I'm pretty sure it is warm, considering how people in Mongolia live in yurts like that, when the Siberian winter descends upon them. :)

Argh - found more Carrara shaders I had bought and forgot about! Downloading, will install tonight.. :red: :red: Bought Fenrics ERC for C8, in case I decide to try to model, rig, and animate.. TENTACLES! :vampire: :snake: :ahhh:

Stuffed now. :) :) Tasty club sub with lettuce, pickles, and mild peppers on top of dead bird, dead pig, and dead cow! :bug:

Going to need coffee soon..... snzzzzzzzz...

There is this place in Northern California that's kind of a hippy-type retreat, I went there for a weekend once - and rented a yurt! :gulp:

Sucker was pretty big, enough for 2 easily.. and it stayed nice and comfy inside. :)

It all depends on the insulation you have, of course! but a yurt won't hurt.. ;-P

Ahhhh... But if you think like a real estate agent the proper term is "cozy".

those are traditionally NOT solar powered.. but fueled by Yak dropping fires.. (fire being the key here I think).

and they sit on the ground not raised above it where the wind can get underneath it.

...Still can't decide if I want to go on a mini-vacation or get a new guitar... argh! :ahhh: :ahhh:

Based on what you've said so far, I think a mini-vacation would do you a world of good (AND you wouldn't have an extra guitar to have to move about all the time etc etc ;) ).

C'mon Down Under and float about with the 'borg for a week or two (^_^)/.

That doesn't look "solar-powered" to me -- more like skylight is there for illumination. Second, if the floor has similar characteristics as floors in my corner of the world (butt-freezing in winter), the fact that it is raised is not a problem; our old-style buildings also have raised floors like that (although we used rocks instead of concrete) and people did survive just fine. You can put in a stovepipe oven or any other heating solution, you don't need to have a big honkin' fire in the middle of the yurt.

Heh, well, I've decided to forego the new axe and go on a few micro-vacations.. took next Friday off and will spend all day surfing Sixth Street and generally playing tourist! Well, once I get a package shipped (lol)!

I'd love to go to Oz or NZ but that's a lot of saving up, pus the incredible hassle of getting my diabetic supplies (pills, blood glucose test kit) on to the plane in the first place. The ADA (American Diabetes Association) says my gear is specifically allowed but that there can be "long delays" in getting someone senior enough to beat the peons below into submission - "allow 3 hours to go through TSA". :bug:

I have zero desire to deal with that crap, honestly, even though I'd sell a small unused body part to go there! :gulp:

Sometime in April I'll make a 4-day weekend and spend it in San Antonio or such, or bus/train to New Orleans.

The only thing I know about New Orleans is from Anne Rice <(^.^)... micro-vacations are also good - for much of last year I was working a nine-day fortnight, so every second weekend was a "long" one (~_~)... miss that.</p>

Keep it simple, Mr Loach! (^_^)h... take a few set of batteries and your writing pad, and go on a road trip! (^_^)d.

How come it didn't work out?
Don't worry, you'll find something else. Just think optimistic.

Thanks. My SO's friend sorted the contract out, can't say anything except thrilled happy and proud and it looks like beach weather until at least the end of March here so I'm going to be fine

I need to visit New Orleans this year because I have a series of novellas in mind that take place there, a kind of modern-day occult/mystery with a female protagonist. :vampire: I've been reading eBooks on NOLA and it's history, but it's not like being there, walking in the French Quarter, visiting a voodoo shop and church.. I need the experience to write better/more accurately in that locale.

I have enough story ideas to keep me busy writing for about, oh, 10 years. :bug: Maybe more! :gulp:

I'm probably going to replace my fixed writing machine (Asus laptop) with a Lenovo Tablet PC, the one I'm looking at is slightly more powerful than the Asus, takes more RAM, and is a LOT more portable. I'm really into portability lately (heh). :smirk:

Complaint: Skin has been itching and burning more and more of late. Been driving me nuts. Discovered I'm allergic to laundry detergent. Sigh...

    Non-Complaint:
Soap Nuts did the trick! Itching and burning is gone and I'm feeling nuttier then ever. Just need to make sure I hide these from the squirrels for fear the whole yard could go up in soap foam the next time it rains. But hey, maybe I'll have cleaner squirrels with silkier fur then.

@Wooly & everyone else: Come to think of it, where is Fenric? I recall he used to drop by every so often (Back when 1gecko, Nanobot, and surocheck were regulars) but still stuck around the Carrara forums most often.
Did he jump out of the forums alltogether or is he just sticking to the Carrara subforum? o3o

Also, never was a fan of the James Bond franchise - never was, never will be. But this is epic (Also love the raptor's "killing claw" being used in the '7' XD )

    hi guys... :)

    just popping in to rant....

...you know... just a general... complaint....RANT!

Just want to say....things are starting to become EXTREMELY clear to me suddenly today.... It amazes me sometimes how foolish some people can be really. My advice to foolish people everywhere: Don't piss off people who have NOTHING to lose. It's not smart, you know? But, hey.....what do I know about being smart, right? I also would advise foolish people to not assume other people are NOT smart. People are smart. They are.... believe me on that.

And they TALK to each other...imagine that!

Developments are getting ...well, I'll say....interesting....

Pop some corn, folks... I'm sure going to. :)

Ordered a boxed copy of Civilization III Complete from a website specializing in the series. It was their last new/unused copy too. It's being shipped from the United Kingdom though, and estimated delivery date is sometime next month >_>
Less than ten bucks though, including shipping and handling.

Ah well. I've had longer waits.
"From Wishes to Eternity" was being shipped from Finland and took 2 - 3 months to arrive, and the 3DTotal texture DvDs took five weeks.

I'm mostly getting CivIII for curiousity reasons - after much reading I think I'll prefer CivIV for the improved AI and user interface and less-predictable/abusable Diplomacy. CivV I'll never get even for curiousity because multiplayer is nearly impossible, the Diplomacy is broken again, the AI is stupider than CivII, and... Ah I could go on :P
Waste of time, waste of money, waste of hard-drive space.
