Please forgive me if I am scarce the next few days. Going to be very busy.

    -

@ Salvatore... Waves hello! Long time no see.

@ Snowbug... Hope you are able to fix the computer without much trouble.

@ Woolyloach... Enjoy the tentacles. New Orleans sounds fun. Wishing you lots of inspiration for the writing.

    @ Kulay Wolf... Welcome back.

@ Misty Whisky... That is a cozy looking yurt.

@ ps1borg, Skiriki, and anyone I'm forgetting by name (Sorry about that. I know there are some names that are slipping my mind. Doesn't mean you are any less important to me.)... see you soon.

    -

I may lurk or pop in really quick if I can, otherwise, see you in a few days.

snow alert is now saying 8 - 12 inches. winds gusts 50mph.

i've had too much caffeeine today. javajavajvavajvava

All the flights to New York City and Boston, MA are canceled. My friend in New York City can't take a plane or train to Boston. The airports are open, but the airlines cancelled their flights to and from the northeast U.S.

When I saw the word Java I thought of the programming language. lol

Someone suggested that I buy stuff from NewEgg. I might do that. Thanks for the tip.

@Misty Whisky... Well... now I am... I got a new bigger generator back in November and my snow clearing tools and snow blower are all ready... dug out my big shop size kerosene heater in case LIPA fails us again... I suppose I'm ready... I don't feel ready... just real tired, I've been out in this stupid weather all day and I've been wet all day... Bleagh! Well, at least I made friends with the mountain lion at the Brookhaven ecology center, so when Long Island freezes over like in The Day After Tomorrow, the Mountain Lion won't want to eat me when she breaks out and runs amok, like those wolves did in the movie... then again I do owe her like thirty bucks from a poker game with the bears... Mountain Lions are pretty picky about people owing them money or steak...

@DanaTA... Sorry to hear about your sister's injury... car accidents suck. That will probably be one of the insurance companies new mottos... "Car accidents suck- but we don't... and you can save up to $400 per year by blah-blah-blah".... I really stop listening after the pig is done with his bit... actually the pig isn't that funny anymore now that he has been going out on dates and flying cross country... when did car insurance become funny? Then again only the Geko and the pig are funny... Flo seems to want be funny... and all I can see Dennis Haysbert is as President Palmer from 24... I don't think I'd feel comfortable buying car insurance from a dead president... Maybe if he was a zombie, that could be funny and alleviate the tension... but anyway... back to your sis, I hope she recovers quickly and there are no permanent injuries.... by the way... that is a Steven Wright quote right? If most accidents happen within 1 mile of the home... why don't we all move 2 miles away?... (Or something like that)...

...particularly like this set especially the Icarus pic and the one of the lady in the red swimsuit. The hair, face, and earrings remind me a lot of one of my favourite X-Men characters, Jubilee.

Heard a lot about the big blizzard over here on the "left coast". Something like over 3,000 flights were cancelled today. Hope you stocked up on the essentials and goodies to make it though. Sometimes I actually miss big snowstorms Kind of like it when the whole city is under a heavy blanket of the white stuff. Here where I live, what would be considered a "dusting" in the Midwest, sends everyone into a panic mode and the local media into 24 hour winter blast coverage.

The really bad thing is we occasionally get freezing rain because of the temperature inversion in the valleys. I'll take two feet of snow over a half inch of icy glaze any day.

..OK finally made it to the end of what has been a literal h3ll week. Again apologies for the caustic rant several pages ago. When one is not feeling well and under a lot of stress, even small irritations become big ones. To top things off, got screwed on the PC renewal deal as I never got my 30$ credit in Dazzi-Os like the email promised. Seems the wording in the email was a bit vague and I didn't realise that I had to have them in the same cart with the PC.Renewal. Submitted a Zendesk ticket on the matter for all the good that will probably do.

OK so now it's Friday (feels like I've worked seven days straight) however the Monday demon appeared as if it was going to rear it's ugly head again as I nearly was mowed down by some moron in one of those big a$$ stretch cab 4x4 pickups who decided to make a left turn while I was in a marked crosswalk with the walk light. Actually had to dodge out of the way to avoid being hit. I thought it was written somewhere in our state drivers manual that turning traffic had to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk when the pedestrian clearly had the right of way as I did. Guess reading isn't fundamental anymore for operating a motor vehicle.

I really have to start a letter writing campaign to the cereal companies to tell them to stop giving away drivers' licences in specially marked boxes of their product.

Made it to the gulag a bit frazzled from the near bodily injury experience expecting another day of "thrills and chills" sure to tax my patience which has been stained to the thickness of a "bucky tube". Surprisingly, other than finding that someone stole my bottle of Vitamin Water from the fridge in the lunch room (seems even in a small company you can't trust your co-workers anymore), the day was otherwise rather uneventful and crisis free for once and orders surprisingly light.

...so light in fact (most likely due to the big blizzard hitting the east coast where our "soon to be gone" client is located) that when I spoke to my super about leaving "early" (actually what is my "normal" clockout time) there was no issue. So got a ride home with my warehouseman (saving 2.50 in bus fare and nearly 2 hours of my evening) making it in time for happy hour at my favurorite neighbourhood brewpub.

To make matters even better, I discovered that I was eligible for a free upgrade to the latest version of Reality (ver2.5) saving 9.95$ in the process. So, the cost of the pitcher was covered and I now have access to a killer render engine (Lux 1.2) that will allow me to use GPU assist in the rendering process - all 300+ Cuda threads worth.

...so after the morning's close encounter of the injurious kind, Friday ended up acting like Friday again.
