...particularly like this set especially the Icarus pic and the one of the lady in the red swimsuit. The hair, face, and earrings remind me a lot of one of my favourite X-Men characters, Jubilee.

Heard a lot about the big blizzard over here on the "left coast". Something like over 3,000 flights were cancelled today. Hope you stocked up on the essentials and goodies to make it though. Sometimes I actually miss big snowstorms Kind of like it when the whole city is under a heavy blanket of the white stuff. Here where I live, what would be considered a "dusting" in the Midwest, sends everyone into a panic mode and the local media into 24 hour winter blast coverage.

The really bad thing is we occasionally get freezing rain because of the temperature inversion in the valleys. I'll take two feet of snow over a half inch of icy glaze any day.

    thanks :)

    it's snow bikini weather.

Gaaahhhhhhh! I'm MAD AS HELL and I'm NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE!!!

The landlady went into my room and swapped out a bunch of furniture without telling or asking me! So I got home last night to a VERY different room!! I emailed a complaint and she says I should be happy, and by the way I should neaten my room up.

WTF?!?!?! She's trying to turn into my Mom! :blank: :blank:

She's always had this tendency to do things without considering the effect, normally it's not directly invasive but she's been getting worse and worse, then she sent an email out with MY NAME ON IT, as if I wrote it, looking for a housemate. FFS she didn't even apologize, just said she wouldn't do it again - as if forging an email from someone was perfectly reasonable!

Long story short: I'm selling off 90% of what I own and I'm going to find someplace else to live, preferably with a SANE landlord.

I was going to have to move anyway, she HAD arranged for me to move into the front house, but I don't want anything to do with her any more.

I'm still fuming about it all. geesh.. angry angry angry! :snake:

Well, it's a good excuse to get rid of accumulated stuff, focus on writing and art, and maybe move closer to the University so I can take some classes.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :snake: :snake:

Heh, yeah. Well, I've cleaned up, put together a pile of clothing to give to a couple of Austin charities, tossed out a pile of useless stuff I've been sitting on and generally reducing the amount of crud to move.

I'm being as calm and serene as I can (lol), I'll go out tonight and listen to some live music and have a beer or four, that'll be nice and relaxing!

@DanaTA... Sorry to hear about your sister's injury... car accidents suck. That will probably be one of the insurance companies new mottos... "Car accidents suck- but we don't... and you can save up to $400 per year by blah-blah-blah".... I really stop listening after the pig is done with his bit... actually the pig isn't that funny anymore now that he has been going out on dates and flying cross country... when did car insurance become funny? Then again only the Geko and the pig are funny... Flo seems to want be funny... and all I can see Dennis Haysbert is as President Palmer from 24... I don't think I'd feel comfortable buying car insurance from a dead president... Maybe if he was a zombie, that could be funny and alleviate the tension... but anyway... back to your sis, I hope she recovers quickly and there are no permanent injuries.... by the way... that is a Steven Wright quote right? If most accidents happen within 1 mile of the home... why don't we all move 2 miles away?... (Or something like that)...

Well, my sister has permanent injuries already. This wasn't so much an injury, but an aggravation of already existing pain.

I like the Gecko! I also like Flo. I think she'd be good in a sit-com. We'll probably see her in one in a few years. I have the same thing with the dead president in the commercials. I say to the TV, "You used to be president...now you sell insurance!" :-P

The power went out last night around 11:15 pm. It didn't come back until around 8:30 am. My security alarm's battery died about 20 to 30 minutes later. I guess I have to get it replaced. Just before we lost power, I put the heat up two degrees, so it would take longer to get cold. Good thing I did that, the power went out only minutes after the heat finished. We have natural gas for the heat, but we still need electricity for the thermostat and the blower. I didn't open the refrigerator at all during the blackout. I think everything will probably still be good.

There's a lot of snow out there. And we may lose the arborvitae outside the front door...it's all bent over. maybe I can get the snow off and it will spring back. I don't know if it's split or not, I haven't been out yet. I will go out there shortly.

I have a huge pile of stuff to sell I haven't used in ages.. geesh.. where did it all come from? :-S

Bet it's that huge music equipment pile which keep growing :gulp: , and GROWING !!!!! :bug:

Have been having a next evolution in that process myself, I have all sonic possibilities, but it's so much stuff, so I went for a bit better quality, hoping to be able to get rid of some stuff, but, every peace of music stuff is advertised as being the final best perfect solution for everything, and it never is, and all the old shit still have a few functions I don't want to miss, so,,, my best purchase of the last period is,, midi programmable relay switches, so at least I have the possibility to get the bad shit out of my serial chain, so it won't pollute more then necessary, sooooo,, this means the next stage of piling up even MORE !!!! :coolcheese:

Living with a millionaire in a giant house at the moment, his only wish is to get rid of EVERYTHING, and just have the most essential stuff, with a maximum mass of the insides of a backpack, to keep his life simple and mobile, we kind of disagree,,,,

Ehm, yes, actually a good deal is old music gear - a bass I rarely play, effects pedals I don't use any more, field recorders, and lots of small things that just seemed to appear from nowhere. :gulp: And the remnants of failed experiments...

I go down different paths.. trying bass, guitar, some singing, solo work, trying to play everything.. urgh. :bug:

Next up is to create a small animation of some kind and score it, so I've reinstalled my most powerful software synthesizer and i'm re-learning it. So far, s good! Now if I can fight off the gear lust, I'll be far more portable.. just.. gear lustttttt... :red: :ahhh:

Take it easy and have a blast!

Came home from work and maybe a little play
Only to find a bunch of crap done by my landlady
Almost everything was different in my room
Not the same place I left well before noon
What an invasion of my space
Hey you bat I pay rent on this place
What does she have to say
    Clean up put things away

WTF you must be crazy to do this without a word
WTF I pay rent I live here or haven't you heard
You can not just come and do things like this
Your not my mom even if that is your wish
I'm done it's over I'm so outta here
Sell off the junk and packing my gear
I'm going to move and get away
So looking forwad to that day

End Of this one, I hope it was fun.

The Ballad of Woolyloach and the Landlady
    by tjohn

    On Woolyloach
    Landlady did encroach
    Upon his private space
And moved things out of place.

This he did not like, tho
    It made him nearly psycho
    And plan to relocate
    The next convenient date.

Next comes the sale of things
    His Gear Lust always brings
For when it comes to stuff
    He never has enough.

So we will have to wait
    'Til Wooly can relate
    Just what happens next
    To leave him sorely vexed.

@DanaTA... be real careful with arborvitae, their branches are very easy to snap in the cold, the are very weak at the point where the branches fork. I used to have a small scale (1/2"= 1 scale foot) "special effects" town in my yard, it was populated by almost a hundred miniature trees, most of which were various species of arborvitae. Every time it would snow more than two inches or it would be icy snow, I had to go out and clean the whole town off... paying special attention to the arborvitaes I messed up quite a few trying to save them... over time I realized sometimes it was better to just remove some of the snow than to try and free up anything that was stuck.
