Stezza, thanks...  I worked on my Veggie Crate all afternoon... just uploaded it a short while ago... thread still said open... if I got it in too late can replace with earlier version or just be disqualified.   Either way doesn't matter... I learned quite a bit.  Please let me know if I need to post a new WIP... pic is same 'cept for the crate w/tomatoes.

    No worries..... wink

Yes Vyusur, your work rocks. I'd say so more often but it's a pain trying to spell your name ;)

Stezza,  Sorry to hear of your "Sad time"... hang in there.   As always... I greatly enjoyed all your comical renders keeping me, and others I suspect, chuckling throughout this thrilling Challenge.

Update... regarding my Veggie Crate... I've posted a textured version of it to my Modeling thread in This post. Hopefully I describe my rush to finish it to include with my entry, others are better than mine, in a sorta funny way.  Note that the one shown in my entry is more complete in that it has text on side and tomatoes inside... still it needs work, IMO.

Just to let you all know ( if you remember I am giving a $5 gift card to my best WiP ) I have gone through the WiPs with a fine toothe comb...

killed all the nits and have chosen my recipient.....

so one of you is now $5 better off yes

but I'm not sayin just yet who.....

would be interesting to get your thoughts on which WiPs you think were good in this challenge.

My guess is Diomede.  He usually gives the most comprehensive blow-by-blow descriptions of his techniques.

I still have the question, are cartoon captions considered postwork?

No axe to grind, just seek clarification.

  • wgdjohnwgdjohn Posts: 2,634

UB,  I would have to say yes they are post work unless they are created with Carrara or a plug-in for Carrara.

  • StezzaStezza Posts: 8,050

If captions were added in another product after rendering then yes, it is post work.

If you created the captions and added them to the scene on a plane or splat then rendered then IMO that isn't post work.

refer to this post back on page 3

    The first image is PR

the second has postwork where the elbow was fixed

the third has postwork where captions are added and filters used..

I can see where you classified your entries as PR but are in fact postwork...

as the 'Supweme Wuler' I will decide on what the outcome will be..... have the beheaded basket ready just in case devil

You probably didn't intend to, but you made it sound like it must be either/or.  Two of my images were both PR and postworked (because of the captions), which is in category 3 according to the rules.  Works for me.

I posted a clarification also back on page 3 which was then added to page 1

    added 19052017

    Clarification on PR/NPR/Postwork

Most votes single PR image No Postwork:  $50.00 towards DAZ 3D owned item(s)

PR = PhotoRealistic setting in Carrara render room.. Only postwork allowed is your signature nothing else

The other addition to this was the allowed use of a third party renderer which several Carrara users use.

The Supweme Wuler can only post info it's up to the reader to read & decipher them. wink
