...ahh in a nostalgic mood tonight. Watching old vids of the Beatles in concert.

Saw them in 1964. Good lord that's almost 50 years ago.

...brings back the kid in me.

At the end of one performance in Liverpool they do an instrumental jam on From Me to You. Absolutely priceless.

Some of those songs are old enough to have run out of copyright. My worse fear is endlessly recycled in radio and TV ads, lifts, supermarkets oh noes love me don't

...I remember once while waiting for my flight at an airport I heard the Stones' Satisfaction on Muzak.

    ...yeah a real bummer.

...now listening to the Mighty Wurlitzer at the Blackpool Ballroom. I have to make a stop there to see and hear this instrument on my European trip (and maybe shake a leg or two).

Though I was a classical organist I have a soft spot for the Cinema organ. They are just so much fun to play (as this video shows) no pretensions whatsoever.

Yep I do sometimes have difficulty speaking. I know my doctor is trying improve my medicine stuff, but that takes time to find the right dosages.

...listening to a perfomance of the entire OP 10 & 25 Etudes by Chopin (my favourite works by the composer) performed by a wonderfully gifted young woman named Valentina Lisitsa. Like my Leela she started at a very young age (three years old) and performed her first recital at age four and like Leela she has a unique feel for Chopin's music.

Can't post a link as it will only go to the selection that is currently playing. I heartily recommend going to Youtube and doing a search on "Valentina Lisitsa Chopin etudes" to get the full album.

...yeah, I'm a sucker for good music pr0n.

Nightfall here, sun is just below the horizon and white clouds are streaked mauve and pink. There is a little wind taking the edge off another sweaty day. Hotter next week, they say, but I'm grateful now to feel just a smidge cooler :)

I hear that, I have a buildup of winter flatulence that Febreze can't compete with.

@ Kyoto Kid... When I was living in San Jose California there was a pizza parlor that had a complete and working pipe organ that may very well have been a Wurlitzer. The place wasn't small and full banks of the organ's metal and wood pipes lined its walls and entirely filled a large display room. I addition to the traditional pipes the were also a few other instruments and things hooked up to the organ for fun such as castanets and a bird cage with a stuffed bird that emitted bird song. It was a great place and a joy to listen to the organ and the variety of different musical requests from the audience. I miss it. Thanks for the link.

@ Ledhead... Nice job on the video. Plus, I've always enjoyed Led Zeppelin.

Just for fun... Here is some Zeppelin right back at you, kind of. Just something I stumbled across recently. I never get tired of Kashmir. (Warning: My musical tastes are quite eclectic.)

Starts off as a solo. Other instruments come in about halfway through... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haVWq8Wptnw

I have not been getting enough music lately.

...hmm, Feel I'm in the wrong country. Seems Australia has more holidays than we do. Oh we have what are known as "Federal" holidays but those are only observed by schools, banks and government agencies. The rest of us poor schleps still have to drag ourselves to the day job.
