    Finnish is hard! How do people think in two languages? I can barely manage one. :)

    I think in 4 on a regular basis...

    I would not recommend anyone trying that unless absolutely necessary, mind you. It's pretty awful when you are trying to communicate in English, but your brain just keeps producing Japanese.

    And it's really embarrassing when you can't remember words in your native language...

    I know the kids round here speak it easily, but I am struggling all the time. I did learn some as a kid, but that was a wee while ago, and only bits are coming back. Stupid thing is that Welsh husband (he was the middle one) didn't actually speak Welsh, but was totally bilingual in German, having spent 18 years in the army, most of that time in Germany.

    The snow it lies, thick as hoar-frost
    On the beards of Odins chidren
    Dark the night and white the frozen
    Water falling from the sky

    Naked sites a lone beer-drinker
    Butt is buried in ice so cold
    Laughing loudly, he taunts Loki
    To come hither, sit on benches

    Soon the snow-witch and the trolls
    Come to to steal good Skeggis brew
    But the loud-rock, heavy metal
    Breaks the eardrums of the giants

    Swaggering, with pants on floor
    Limp as ropel but loudly bragging
    Skeggi plays the air-guitar
    Wielding rock-riffs, blaring madly

    As the frostlings dance in frozen
    Tundra cover with the moose-turd
    Quick the salmon swim in river
    Dodge the brown bear, and go spawning

    :bug: :bug: :bug: :ahhh:

    Lokasenna

    "Speak now, Eldir, for not one step
    Farther shalt thou fare;
    What ale-talk here do they have within,
    The sons of the glorious gods?"

    "Of their weapons they talk, and their might in war,
    The sons of the glorious gods;
    From the gods and elves who are gathered here
    No friend in words shalt thou find."

    "In shall I go into Ægir's hall,
    For the feast fain would see;
    Bale and hatred I bring to the gods,
    And their mead with venom I mix."

    "If in thou goest to Ægir's hall,
    And fain the feast wouldst see,
    And with slander and spite wouldst sprinkle the gods,
    Think well lest they wipe it on thee."

    "Bethink thee, Eldir, if thou and I
    Shall strive with spiteful speech;
    Richer I grow in ready words
    If thou speakest too much to me."

    "Thirsty I come into this thine hall,
    I, Lopt, from a journey long,
    To ask of the gods that one should give
    Fair mead for a drink to me.

    "Why sit ye silent, swollen with pride,
    Ye gods, and no answer give?

    - The Prose Edda - Snorri Sturluson

    Boots across the tundra crunching.

    "I am Thor!", he cries again!
    "Thuch a headache!", brain asunder.

    the wind is noisy. it's kinda scary.

    i messed up the shortbread cookie recipe. dough has to chill in the fridge for a couple hours. it said to fold in the flour, but i threw it in the mixer with the butter and sugar. the dough is like crumbs, oops. i could make one giant cookie sheet size shortbread cookie, and melt chocolate to pour over it for icing

    Unfortunately I can't take credit for the prose..it is from the Edda, specifically the Lokasenna. Basically it is Loki taunting the other Norse gods/goddesses and their inability to match him.

    The Edda eh? Age of Mythology had a lot of snippets from that when you right clicked on Norse units and upgrades =)
    Some of it I literally couldn't make heads or tails of, but hey that's epic poetry for you ^_^

    Mm... So playing moar of this, and that stinky diplomatic thing comes up again and I voted myself into the victors seat again (Though last time I had a few votes from an ally) and declined it. After getting a message that worried me, I notice that the two other AI had been "eliminated" and their systems were given to the leader I was competing with. Not really a bad thing, because the others only had one and two systems each (The entire game too... >_> ) but still, was suprised to see that ^_^ Something Skiriki *didn't* tell me =P

    Mm... I was similarly suprised to see myself having a massive tech lead through most if not all the game. Of course, I think the two clueless AI's tucked away in the corners of the map contributed to that XD (I'm always playing as the lizards, and they apparently have a reduced research income. Lizards!)

    I circled in blue the former worlds of the Humans (Who I managed to grab a few techs I missed out on, half from trading half from stealing), and in green the sole system that belonged to... Someone >_>
    In red I circled two systems I captured from two wars I engaged in. Now it seems there's gonna be one last war between us :P

    ETA: Yup. Only one single fleet was sent after me, and it was blown to pieces attacking one of my worlds (Which only had one single out of date ship in it (Destroyer? It said Boa which I think is the second ship in the line o3o) After that, my ships just swarmed his planets one by one ^_^
    Conquest victories are the most fun in Civilization, they seem to be fun here too X3

    *EDIT* Wait never mind I found it. Refit is for existing ships, Design is for modifying future ships. I guess you can't make completely new designs beyond the current ones?

    You need to develop technology related to ships in order to get better ships.

    Protip: phasors can be boosted into something totally obscene, and thanks to their lightweight structure, you can load a lot of them into, say, a doomstar. Like... 1000 of them. They will totally eat their way through enemies, once you're there. They are, however, extremely high tech.

    Of course, some of us do like sticking other, more traditional weapons on a few Doomstars.... then letting an enemy take over that Tiny, Toxic world... so you can blow it up and turn the resulting asteroids into a larger, more congenial planet....
