they ain't pretty, but they smells heavenly baking. the recipe calls for the confectioner sugar, instead of regular sugar. will prolly look prettier after a few buttershots in hot cocoas. practice, practice, and stretchy waistband pants :)

You will be able to configure Firefox not to use network-cached pages with "browser.cache.check_doc_frequency", or just add an "?" at the end of a URL to force a page to reload from the target server

Seems folks are having trouble with FireFox... Dunno why since it's all been smooth for me :P
Maybe FF is just happy I've stuck with it for so long? Mm... Only times I've had trouble with FF was when suddenly basic features on DA suddenly stopped working (A quick upgrade fixed that, and nothing else broke so I am happy) and when I could never download the basic edition of Houdini from their website. I had to use Chrome to get it downloaded ><</p>

Mmm.... Well okay I was a bit sad I had to leave behind the Foxkeh theme when Firefox went from 2.0 to 3.0 since the designer never ever updated it (It was such a cute theme) but that's a trivial matter =)

Oops, "jump the shark time". When the two leads in a love/hate relationship or even semi-platonic in a series fall in love, the series is (usually) about done.

Must be the humidity, because 82 F isn't that bad. I live in New England, where humidity is almost always the killer during the summer. When I went to California (only time I've ever been there) to get my dad's property ready to sell several years ago, it was October 28 to November 2, and it was 85 F every day. I was working in a small, cinder block homesteader's cabin, with no A/C, and it wasn't bad at all. Back here, I'd have been dying! Or at least melting.

    Hot enough for you? :)

About six weeks until the fire season ends and some winds from the South start to blow and if we're lucky there will be some rain after that.

we had a bit of snow last night, trade some winds?

i really shouldn't use snow as an excuse not to go to laundry mat today. but ... is snow, better to stay home. :)

You must live fairly close to me. And the wind was definitely the main event this time. The snow was light and fluffy and shoveled easily...except I didn't like it blowing back in my face when that damned wind blew!

i luv the .more.smileys at Faeriewylde.

remember the :happydance: emotiguy gif, and the bricks one?

no wanna put cold syrup on my hotcakes, what would happen if i mixed the syrup in the batter?

took out 3 sticks of no salt butter to start it's journey to room tempy, which is cold and drafty.
flipping through joyofbaking recipes. :) prolly the coffeecake again. if only i had some ginger. :( my new rolling pin came yesterday, coulda made gingermans cookies. :) haz all the ingredients to try shortbread cookies, or, shortbread pie crust for chocolate cream pie :happydance:

Here's something you may or may not have tried, but it's worth it. I am missing my coffee milk at night...I'm out of coffee syrup. So a couple of times I've used 100% maple syrup. It makes a yummy glass of milk! And no high fructose corn syrup, just natural maple tree blood. Hmmm...doesn't sound as appetizing when I put it that way.

    Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! :bug: :ahhh:

Sigh.. selling my 23in Asus monitor. Got a guy coming for it today, a little extra cash to take to the honky-tonk this afternoon. :)

All pics edited and ready, I'll start posting 'em tomorrow morning, a few new ones each day. bye bye stuff!!

There's a Goodwill donation center on the bus line so what doesn't get sold, gets donated. I already have 2 bags of minor items I'm going to take (mainly clothes) next weekend. Someone will end up warm and happy! :)

Definitely getting a Core i7 system when all this settles down.. with a 17in dispolay! DS4.5, Poser, Bryce, Carrara.. all not fun to use on this 15.4in laptop. :blank:

Check out buy.com. Oh, wait, they're now rakuten.com. I got my Samsung T220 Touch of Color 22" monitor there, I love it! Samsung makes excellent flat panels. 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (I believe they have models with much higher ratios now), really quick response (I forget the exact numbers) I never figured out how to get the red glow on the edge of the frame, though. It's only there in the power on indicator. It has a great energy saving sleep mode, too. They have very good prices at rakuten.com.

Think that was 82 at midnight after a top of around 110, after a few days 0f 100+ even aircon starts to feel warm. South wind cooled us down today, tho everyone is looking a bit tired and frayed still :). Eta 63 F right now, humidity 82%, a little rain. Forecast for tomorrow hot again :)

..yeah I wish they would bring them back . Love the "sick" and "crazy" ones as well as the two hitting each other over the head with mallets. The cool thing many of those were made with 3DU's Emotiguy.

no wanna put cold syrup on my hotcakes, what would happen if i mixed the syrup in the batter?

...you'd get the flavour but the pancakes would still be rather "dry". The whole idea of putting syrup or preserves on is it adds not only sweetness and extra flavour, but also much needed moistness. If I cannot afford real 100% natural maple syrup (don't go for those imitation ones as they are mainly high fructose based which is very bad for you), I use honey, a fruit preserve, or applesauce.

You could put the syrup you want to use into something like a small glass or glass jar (glass conducts heat very well) and then place that in a pan of just boiled water for a few minutes (some restaurants do this). Don't put it in while the pan is still on the stove,as you don't want to cook it, just warm it up.

Sometimes Diane makes yummy pancakes, mostly when we're on vacation (she doesn't have the time during the year, and we don't eat breakfast at the same time of day most days). Dice an apple into small cubes, add cinnamon, and mix into the pancake mix. Yummy!

Shouldn't have to reboot the OS to get a web browser to behave tho

Sometimes when a computer has been on constantly for a lot of days, memory starts to corrupt, or get used up and not released...we all know that applications do that, right? Sometimes when I've had too many things running for too long, and I go to ShareCG, it goes all wonky on me. No other sites but that one. I have to close the tab, and I know at that time that memory has become a problem. I shut everything down, reboot, and then open all those tabs in Firefox and then open one for ShareCG and it's not a problem. I use Windows XP Pro 32 bit, with only 4G of RAM. Right now I have MS Outlook running, with three extra open windows (two notes and one reminders), two Windows Explorer windows, Firefox with 8 tabs open, MS SQL Server Management Studio Express, MS Visual Studio Pro 2010, MS Help Viewer, and Taosoft's DAZ3D History Manager application. I've opened MS Money, did some work in it, and closed it again several times in the past two or three days.

Not bad for WinXP 32 bit. I don't know if I would try to open Adobe Photoshop CS2 right now, though. :-P

I switched to Firefox over a year ago, after I found that my website behaved better in Firefox than in IE 7 or IE 8, even though I am using MS development tools and the site runs on MS servers. :-S Go figure...

OK, 82 at midnight is a little tough. But I had many nights like that in the apartment we used to live in. And only a oscillating fan...which actually just blew around the warm air. But the breeze did evaporate the sweat and made it seem like it was cooler.
