With 50% off the base price, and then another 10% off for purchasing the A5 bundle the price in my cart is right.
[pokes head in through the window (it's already open), looks around]
Thinks: "doesn't seem very mad in here..."
[wanders off to look elsewhere]
[returns, retrieves head, and wanders off again, whistling...]
If you look at my reply on this thread, #160, the calculations made there are correct and in accordance with the way they are on the first post in this thread (there are groups that items must be in for specific sale qualifications). This was verified by Richard. Thanks Richard.
I was overcharged by ~$40 on the day in question (Day 16) and so I sought an answer from Brittney (DAZ Sales Support). She linked me to this thread, I placed my order in the structure of the outline Richard gave on page 1 and he verified my calculations. I copied my reply and Richards and sent it to Brittney. I received a store credit for the overcharge and she said she would make my example available to Marketing. So I think things may improve.
The main upshot here is that, YES, THERE IS A 50% discount for two items, but if you note the original post, it is not for just any two items. It must be two March Madness items. Just as at your local department store, not everything is on sale. But if you have 2+ qualifying items by the groups listed and the dates they are in those groups, then you are entitled to the 50% and if DAZ has made a mistake, they are pretty quick about setting it straight (at least, this has been my experience).
Note: I have come across some items that are listed on the item description page that say x% off (in red), but that do not show up on the March Madness Catalog screen. I assume such items, while on sale for whatever reason, are not March Madness sale items. I always look an item up on the MM Catalog to be sure.
Look through the whole catalog, do not search from within the catalog as that can take you to items outside of the catalog.
Faerydae, unfortunately, yes, your math is wrong.
Black Kitty lists for $22.95 - New Release
Lady of Abyss lists for 16.95 - Artist Sale
Worlds of Fantasy: Medieval House lists for 34.95 - Artist Sale
None of these are DAZ items but they are all March Madness items so the 50% applies. The mistake is that you are calculating off the sale price listed in red. You need to calculate off the list price (the one crossed off in dark grey).Your actual total is $74.85 x .5 which equals $37.43. Owning one of the qualifying products (A5, Garibaldi, etc...) gains you another 10% or 37.43 x .9 which equals $33.68 give or take a penny or two for rounding.
So $33.70 is the correct 50% off price for your items.

Yep. Got it figured out a few posts above. Thanks though :)
Oops, yeah you did. Sorry, I guess I missed that one.
Those low-res cops are still onsale but I can't find another product I want to get the additional 20% off....
ACK! Daz, your marketing scheme is working...
Need help....
My "in cart" order is on standby as I try to do some calculations, but i'm getting confused....here goes:
All my items are being recognized as 50% off (all are MM items). The discount shows to be -$47.90. The result is $119.74. That's okay.
Then I apply the "madness-20" coupon I received, which is stated to offer "an additional 20% Off these already discounted products. This means you can get 20% MORE off items that are already 30% to 50% Off! Load up your cart with as many DAZ Original March Madness products as you can handle".
However, instead of discounting 20% from the order total which would be a savings of $23.948, it merely changed my total savings from -$47.90 to -$52.99, a difference of $5.09. $5.09 is not 20% of $119.74.
Anything wrong with what i'm seeing? Is it just me? Help me out, please.
When did you get this email? Has it got an expiration date?
My "madness-20" coupon is good until 3/26. It was this additional 20% coupon that pushed me over the edge into making a March Madness purchase. Unfortunately, if I don't get some sort of explanation I won't pull the trigger and DAZ is out what should have been a $95 purchase. I'm already feeling anxious enough to disregard the entire order.
could you list the items your trying to order along with their "list" price (not the "sale" price), also if you have a qualifying item for the extra 10% (Aiko 5, Garibaldi Hair, Pirate cove, or Plateau, I think are the ones that qualify now), say so, and whether or not you are a PC member...
I will try to work out what it should total, and then I'll get back to you with my opinion. I'm not anybody official, but I have gotten the percentages down and all my orders are correct now, so I will try to help you see what's going on with yours.
That's very kind of you, but honestly i'm not going to bother listing all the items. As I mentioned, all 12 items are March Madness items, chosen specifically from the "Don't Miss The Madness" 'shop all march madness items' page link. I meticulously sifted through 775 items. I have no Platea nor Aiko5 nor any other 10% modifier. The only problem seems to be the "madness-20" coupon discount.
Before adding the coupon:
Subtotal $167.64
Discount -$47.90
Total $119.74
After adding the "madness-20" coupon:
Subtotal $167.64
Discount -$52.99
Total $114.65
I cannot fathom how the $5.09 difference makes any sense.
Are they DAZ Original items?
In the thread on the coupon it was said it only works on those.
Haven't gotten the email coupon myself so have no more info than that.
Cheers
Unfortunately, I cannot either, but if the $167.64 is the total at 30%, then the $119.74 is correct for the 50%, but the only thing I can think of is that not all your items are DAZ items.
That may be a stipulation on your coupon.
You need to go to each page and make sure that DAZ 3D is listed as one of the vendors (upper left of the catalog page). Then total all the DAZ 3D items and calculate the 20% from there. That's the only thing I can come up with that makes sense.
Your March Madness percents are correct otherwise, so it only makes sense that your coupon is for DAZ 3D items only.
EDIT:
If the DAZ 3D is stipulated, then you should have about $12.75 (list) worth of DAZ 3D items in your cart.
12.75 x .5 = 6.375
6.375 x .8 = 5.10
Yup. DAZ Originals is exactly the problem. Thank you for easing my mind.
Two of my 12 items were DAZ Originals and those were the only items receiving the additional 20%. The coupon graphic states "SAVE AN EXTRA 20% ON MARCH MADNESS ITEMS" and the text states:
"Our biggest sale of the year just got bigger,
March Madness has been going strong all month long, and we've noticed you haven't experienced it yet. Hundreds of products, including new releases, are on sale every day this entire month. Buy one item at 30% Off or get 50% Off multiple items when you buy two or more.
As an exclusive offer, we are giving you an additional 20% Off these already discounted products. This means you can get 20% MORE off items that are already 30% to 50% Off! Load up your cart with as many DAZ Original March Madness products as you can handle, and enter coupon code: madness-20 at checkout for discounts to apply.
Savings this insane only come around once a year - so take advantage of this limited offer before March 26th and save like Mad!"
There is ONLY one meager reference to this coupon being limited to DAZ Originals. That's pretty sleazy, DAZ.
I guess I will go trim the fat from my order. Thanks again.
Yeah, they have a bad problem with that, but I'm willing to bet that the state of utah only requires that a stipulation be included without stipulating how. Advertising professionals make the big bucks by knowing exactly what they CAN get away with.
Cheers!
I have the coupon, too (though a friend who buys a lot didn't get one (??)). I put the few March Madness items I wanted into my cart and it made no difference. I was getting zero percent off! It was driving me crazy until I came here and saw it wasn't my problem, it was Daz's. The items happen not to be Daz items as listed in the buried print and the coupon was valueless to me.
Thanks for wasting my time. It doesn't take 30 seconds to come to your website, browse and decide what I might want, you know.
Before I was frustrated. Now I'm just mad, instead of saving (& spending) like mad. Coupon should have said Save an extra 20% on Daz original March madness items, but it didn't. It only implied it later. I mean, when you click on their "DAZ Original March Madness products" hyperlink for what to save on it takes you to ALL the products, not just the ones with 20% extra off.
They only sent out those coupons to people who hadn't bought anything during MM.
They only sent out those coupons to people who hadn't bought anything during MM.
The good news is that my friend who didn't get the coupon was initially pissed not to receive one, but after seeing the fine print qualification doesn't feel so bad.
I understand trying to entice people to spend, but why not also send it to those of us who have been spending as a little thanks?
I don't even want to think about how much I have spent on DAZ in the last 6 months...Let alone this month! So yeah...throwing some frequent flyer miles at those of us who are helping to keep the lights on would be much appreciated.
.
No, it's not working well because I actually need the coppers, but I don't have enough money for 2 items, so Daz gets nothing and I get nothing.
Thanks for your information. I'd just like to add the following for any Daz Staffers reading:
Just like the BOGO event which placed a BOGO logo onto those qualified items, an MM logo should be prominently displayed on all MM items when searching. Unless the MM items are prominently marked with an MM logo outside of the catalog, only those items in March Madness sale should be marked as 'on sale'. Otherwise, people WILL confuse _all_ non-MM on-sale items as being qualified for March Madness. There should be no confusion between the items which are March Madness items and those that aren't. By having items on-sale but that are outside of the March Madness sale is, at best, a questionable sales practice as it's going to lead to this exact thread and these exact problems.
I'd suggest that for the next March Madness that all MM qualified items be prominently labeled with a unique logo. Without this logo, only items in March Madness need to be marked on sale. All other sales should be temporarily suspended until after March Madness is over. It's the only way to avoid this confusion. Running side-by-side sales like this is just ripe for confusion. If you're going to have side-by-side sales, then the items need to be labeled uniquely as to which promotions apply to that item.
Worse, the confusion over this issue is enough for me (and likely others) to avoid this sale entirely. Just give us a single simple sale or offer us coupons that just apply to whatever items we want to use them on.
Can only hope for/dread a giant make-up day at the end.
There are close to 10 items I would have bought/will buy if not for the ridiculous stipulations.
But I'm not buying stuff that I don't particularly want at all just to get the sale price.
I'm not your Sugar Ippo anymore, DAZ.
Those days are done.
So isn't Project Iris still a March madness item? It's pretty been in a march madness category every day, either in the product focus or vendor store focus, but its the only item in cart that doesn't give a 50% off discount.
You are talking about this one? http://www.daz3d.com/project-eyeris
From this page: http://www.daz3d.com/sales-promotions/ neither the single product nor the vendor are part of todays sale.

We must not be getting the same page, its clearly t here, the Project Eyeris is the picture up and listed in the vendor page. I cleared cache and refreshed the page, and here's what I'm getting... Yep, project Eyeris is still there. Above you can see all todays new items.
Also the vendor is listed as part of today's vendor category in the MM updates.
I just tried again to add it to the cart, it doesn't give the 50% discount like the rest.
Actually it didn't take off the 10% for having bought Aiko 5 either.
Sorry! You are right - DimensionTheory is one of todays vendors.
But the less than 60 days old items of vendors (even when the vendors store is on sale) are only MM items when they are in the New Releases or Featured Items part of the MM page.
Some artists have their items the whole time in the Featured items part (like Luxus, for example) others just the next day (like yesterdays Infinite Gardens) and some seem to show up randomly (Archimedes Prime is up again today after having vanished for some days).
Ug. I hate how random and messy this sale is. All it does is make me not buy them. See, I want to buy two things, one that is on sale today, and the Eyeris, but guess what, since Eyeris isn't on sale, despite the vendor being on MM feature today, won't buy either one.
And I wont' even start how sick i am of Daz featuring the promo in MM of an item that isn't allowed for MM. Like Eyeris today... its the image that shows up, but it's not allowed. SHEESH. Talk about false advertising Daz!!!!!
Well - to tell the truth - I am buying more this time than last March when it was one of those chained sales.
I love that I am getting even more than 50% off of an artists item (as I don't have much money, even the 10% count).
And as I don't have much money, there is a lot of older things in my wishlist, which do count in the vendor store sales.
Just calling up my wishlist, hit ctrl+f and search for special price.
Excluding the Daz Originals and PC items, of course.
