EDIT EDIT: Nevermind, page 3 had all the answers I needed lol.

I grabbed this earlier this year and am just now about to use it. I am dialing in morph sliders from other morph packages I have bought here. What I am curious about is if this should be used with these other morphs or do these other morphs already contain the needed jcm's when dialed in? I suspect using various sliders from different products/vendors together may cause the already preset jcm's to not function correctly but wanted to check before I start using this. I am not creating any morphs myself, only using packaged morph sets I own from other vendors and also some shapes from other characters dialed in as well.

EDIT: I watched the promo video again on the product page and it occurs to me that I should likely still use this for the morphs I have on the character. My thinking is that since the morphs from the packages and other characters were made and compatible with only certain other characters at launch that using them on characters that were not originally supported or out when the morphs came out may still need to be rigged to the new shape I dial in. For example I am working with Robyn 8 and have alot of stuff dialed in such as arm length, Alexandra x%, Gia x% etc, foot morphs from bluejaunte characters as well as some other leg and foot morphs from different sets. If I am understanding correct I should use SRP for this. Let me know if I am not seeing this right.

OK, so I bought Shape Rigger Plus and to test it on something ultra simple (for me, not you that can runs circles around such a task in DS) I just used one of the FaceGen Artist Pro morphs in my DAZ Library.

    1) So I load the G8M Base, delete the eyelashes, and set the eyelash upper, eyelash lower, and eyelash curl all from 100% to 0%. I'm not sure what those 3 dials do as the eyelashes I deleted and they (eyelash upper, eyelash lower, and eyelash curl) are actually located on the G8M Base.

    2) I set the viewport subD & render subD both to 0. I set the resolution from high to base.

    3) I favorite the morph. I leave it set at 0%

    4) I leave G8M in A pose.

    5) I start Shape Rigger Plus. I read the User Guide.

    6) I check the radio box to select the FaceGen Artist Pro favorited morph for Shape Rigger Plus. It says the morph is already rigged but as I know that and as just testing I ignore that. I set tolerance from 10 to 0, per the instructs it will re-rig all the bones. I also set align.

    7) I click the button to re-rig the FaceGen Artist Pro morph. It finishes pretty quick.

    8) I go to the Save tab and because it was a pre-existing rigged morph the auto-path it's using is already existing the option to save is denied. I un-check the Custom Path to save so that I have the option of overwriting the old morph file.

    9) I click to save the auto-rigger work that Shape Rigger Plus had done. The save dialogue says "Processing Morphs" and it quickly gets to 50% and has now been at 50% for 25 minutes and 20 seconds and counting. So something has went wrong, what?

When I look into the DAZ Studioi (DAZ Studio 4.12.0.76 public beta) lots of DEBUG messages regarding traversal through vert #s & bone names. Last message from Shape Rigger Plus seems to be the ERC was successful.

This was an existing morph. And it may of been ERC'ed and even saved as a 'pseudo-personal' product before I tried using Shape Rigger Plus on it but I really have no other clues as to why the save is stalled at 50% for over 30 minutes now. I read this entire thread before purchasing and Zev0 stated a save after using Shape Rigger Plus shouldn't last any longer than any other typical DAZ Studio save.

After 1 hour 5 minutes plus, I use the Windows Task Manager to end the DAZ Studio task as the Shape Rigger Plus save dialogue still hadn't progressed beyone 50%.

    +++++

After restarting DAZ Studio and trying several different ways of saving that Shape Rigger Plus rerigging of that existing FaceGen Artist Pro morph there isn't a way that works really. The Shape Rigger Plus product has a bug in keeping track of what it has done or not done it seems and so seems to be unable to save what it has done with regards to rigging on an already existing morph like this one.

I just tested on a FaceGen Artist Pro morph that had no ERCs associated with it & Shape Rigger Plus still hangs at 50%.

I also set the 'align' check box to checked. That may be important.

    Hey,

Thank you for creating this time saver. It would have taken me days to weeks to set up all the expression morphs in AFE along with all character shapes, and sizes. I now use this every day.

    Kodo to Zev0 and DiscoBob.

    Again, Thank you.

Oh, I am only hobbyist having fun like you. I have only even box modeled and never sculpted! Shape Rigger Plus amounts to being able to quickly setup & utilize morphs you make in Hexagon or Blender in DAZ 3D using one of the the DAZ Genesis rigs. It's really good for that. I'm sure you'll get there when you are good & ready. I like testing new SW I get with simple cases so I can make sure problems are either the SW or my lack of understanding how to use them as both happen. I would not like to discover after a month's work that the SW I bought to help isn't up to the task. It is something maybe unique to FaceGen Artist Pro but what the problem is, he is investigating. Zev0 has already replicated the problem and is working on a fix.

OK we found the problem regarding Facegen Morph saving. Normally a morph is saved with an artist and a product name. So structure is normally Vendor/Product. Shape Rigger is designed to look for that structure. Now.... Facegen saves face morphs in only Facegen, eg no product folder or sub folder, hense the freeze because its searching for the sub directory. We will fix it so it can dynamically adjust itself to recognise if a morph is saved with only Artist\Primary Folder. So only solution for now until update is released is to select the Facegen morph, manually re-save it with an artist and product name somewhere else, delete the source facegen morph from facegen folder so you don't have a duplicate, and then use Shape Rigger to rig and save it.

    Another SRP Bug:

    a) I loaded the Ryker by RedzStudio

    b) Dialed him out.

    c) Dialed in Jonathan for Ollie HD 100%

    d) Dialed out the Jonathan for Ollie head to 0%

    e) Dialed in a FaceGen Morph

    f) Have the Ryker alter character posed.

    g) Have Auto Face Enhancer Pose Expression control dialed to 100%

    h) The Ryker character is wearing clothing & hair parented to him.

    i) Also has Jepe's Roderick SBH parented but hidden

    j) Create a group Actors & parent this morphed Ryker to it

    k) Favorite the FaceGen Morph used

    l) Start Shape Rigger Plus

    m) Check the FaceGenMorph & set tolorance to 0 & check Include Bone Alighment

    n) run SRP

    o) Ryker jumps all the way to T(0,0,0) / R(0,0,0) & the SHB gets all "funky" & Ryker goes into an 'A' pose (aka Genesis 8 T pose)

    p) Now when I use a pose preset to go to the A pose for Dev G8M or the DAZ Studio menu to zero the Ryker pose he's in this corrupt twisted pose if I choose 'zero selected children' but if the zero pose is selected Ryker goes into the pose he was in before SRP changed him to an A pose & moved him to T(0,0,0) R(0,0,))

So very weird bugs! Also I did things you code probably wasn't coded to stop the process if it detected a character in such a configuration (AFE for G8M, Ryker but dialed into other characters, & SBH).

The user guide specifically says do not have any other morphs dialed in and make sure the figure is in it's default position when rigging a morph. That is how it was designed to work. It is best to rig morphs on the default base figure, and not a loaded in character.

Oh, yes. I had read the user guide and forgot about the instructions.

It would be nice if in cases of customers forgetting that; that SRP would zero the morphs and the poses and then restore them after it was finished using DS  Save - Restore function.

    Hello ZevO!
I bought this promising product, but I have problem
For the 1st time after install everything went 100% and I was truly AMAZED!
Then, for the 2nd time (and further on) Im getting this, please see attached zipped vid.
To avoid this I must make complete uninstall of all product, remove folder public/documents/My Daz 3D Library a install all back.
Then everything works OK, but just only ONE time.
To avoid this I must... etc. see above :(
Working on Win10Pro, G2F alone, empty scene, no hair, no clothes, no textures, was just morphed, then exported to ZBrush (base res+0 subdiv), modified and GoZed back...
    Can you please help?
    Many thanks!

I think, the script is stable now. But after about tenth "reinstallation".
Also maybe I did some systematic errors (lack of documentation for my specific work), because Im creating completely original bodies via ZBrush, using GoZ, and am too lazy to rigg em manually. Problem occured, when I sculpted smaller body than original DAZ person.
Now the script works flawlessly and saves a lot of time.

  • Hi!

This might be a really silly questions, but how do use the morphs that have been saved with the script?

I can't find my morphs from inside Daz Studio.

I have my morphs inside a folder located here: "C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs", but I don't know if I am missing a step or something, because my morphs are the only ones I can't load up in Daz, because they don't even appear. I've restarted the program to see if that helped, but nothing.

    That was quick:)

So if I buy it now I will get an update? Or will it be a new product?

I will have to check under the hood what needs to be changed. Looks like version 1.4 does work with Genesis 8.1 but I am not sure how accurately. I'm sure we have an update we were working on specifically for 8.1. I will have to check my notes.

OK 1.4 is the one that has 8.1 support we just didn't mention it in update because update went live before 8.1 was officially released.

    Hey,

I purchased your script today and i have a problem. Id on't understand the problem. I made many custom morphs... and use riiging to shape. I think it was better with your script.

So, i have problem with both rigging to shape base and your script.  I use it, i save my morph and when i load Genesis 8 again nothing run correctly :(
