Take a look here: Hinky's Spect-Occulars - Steampunk Eyes for Genesis 8

Compatible Figures: Genesis 8 Female, Genesis 8 Male

Seems the PAs already have him.

    They probably do.

However, eye textures have been interchangable within a generation since Millienium 3 at least (I don't have the earlier ones to check) so I wouldn't read too much into it on when he's coming.

That was my first thought too. But on the other side, I would not dare to release a product for a figure, without having the possibility to test it for potential issues.

Well, considering the Genesis 3 Male sale of 70% that we just had, I think it's going to be very soon. I say this month at the latest. They did the same thing with Genesis 8 and the big Genesis 2/3  sale right before it. I just hope there's more products for the men than just the introductory ones, then back to Genesis 3 women churned out.

Not me, but then again I wasn't ready for G8 also. I don't render many males, but I was just getting my GM3 addon files where they were fairly complete for my needs and now........ACK!

Look on the bright side. G8M being released will make G3M items cheaper and go on sale more often and for bigger discounts. Yay! :)

Who seriously thought there wouldn't be a male version of Genesis 8...?

Not a matter of doubt; a matter of when in the cycle. Maybe they decided to switch things up on us this pass.

On the upside though even if they release g8m we still might have time before releasing michael 8, wasn't g2m released a while before Michael 6?

There are a lot of products that are done as sets for the male & female. I'd think it hurts sales from those that wait to buy the bundles.

The difference in release time between the Genesis base and the first named character morph (Victoria and/or Michael) can be counted in hours. And typically on the fingers of one hand. So sure if you want to be technical, the base is released first. I wouldn't call that an effective  "a while" though.

  • hopefully too he'll be able to use the previous versions outfits and some addons and we get a creature creator and other morphs so what age range will base g8m and Michael 8 be do you all think? Youngish, middle aged or more mature matching V8? In past there were several complaints on the main figures both male and female being too young pretty looking but for the last few releases in both G3 and G8 they've given us base characters that are more mature or rugged guess you could say which personally I've liked more variety and real average to real life I like a good mixture but there have been a fair few that haven't liked them

This is the way I have to look at it. I really like G8F and would be happy to switch to G8, but I am on a limited budget and I would have to spend a lot on morphs and such to get G8 to do what I can do with G3. Even then there is no guarantee that there will be G8 versions of Kimo, Kalea, and the Centaurs, all of which are important for what I want to do.

Of course G8M is on the way.

It can be months before a product appears after its been spotted referenced in other products.

It wouldn't surprise me if they brought the release of G8M forward, from what folks have speculated on based on previous releases; they've done G8 differently, and G3 remains far more functional than previously occurred. This will keep them both viable.

Ok, now we have an exclusive product for G8M:

Aaron Hair for Genesis 3 Male(s)

    So, where is he?

The DAZ policy of silence is becoming a bit annoying lately.

The hair says it's for Genesis 3, or am I missing something in your link?

With the male 8 coming out, I'm hoping for more brow prodcuts for both male and female. I'm praying that the G8 males don't come with feminine plucked brows.

Fibermesh appears to be the wave of the present, never mind the future. One would hope that the texture artists would include a no brow option so your blonde brows don't have brown roots, even if it is a bit much to hope they would offer some different basic brow colors.

That said, I've managed to get one of RedzStudios's fibermesh brows for one of her own G3M characters onto a somewhat extremely morphed Genesis 1 figure. So it can be done, if the pieces are available.

I like fibermesh hair brows but don't want female overplucked heavily arched eyebrows for men. I hope to get some more straight across brows eyebrows which create a more benign expression.

in general I find I prefer both. A set of brows tacked neatly over a painted on set provides an added depth you don't get by fiber mesh alone.

Redz's OhMyBrows! for G3M product over on Rendo has a number of different character presets for the brows (close to a dozen) for different DAZ character bases as well as PA characters. They also come with different color shaders, for Iray and 3DL.

Quite a few of her own characters come with their own brows or other facial hair as well.

    +1

This is exactly what I was thinking as I read people discussing the fiber mesh brows. I bought the bundle and have even used the brows for males on some of my females. Besides the dozen or so character presets, (that match that character's painted on brows,) there are a lot of morphs for fit and style, together or separately.

But don't forget the characters here in the store that include fiber mesh brows, like Dale. Alfred for M6 has brows, too. And I've successfully autofitted those to G3M... You may already have a few in your runtime.
