To get the body fits for these props, it's pretty clear the G8 male articulated mesh is done and dusted. Maybe just waiting on textures and getting all the support stuff ready for the launch.
I have a hunch that the G8 cycle is going to be different, and shorter, than previous cycles. Speculation based on nothing but supposition, of course.
could be soon just had dim update that usually happens when close to something like this or some other studio update
Checked the change log for it and there does seem to be stuff related to G8 in it, plus other updates.
Bring him on - Tuesday is 3 days away and it defintely smells character Tuesday as it's mid August with no character yet and so looooooooooong since there was a new Y-cromosome in the shop
If G8M is arriving soon, then it will have to be in the next few days or so. After this we start winding up for the PA annual sale, and I would imagine most PAs would rather not see G8M appear during this and stealing the limelight. He could appear during the PC+ sale (October), but if they would rather not clash with this big sale either (particularly since Daz Originals tend to be pretty cheap during the PC+ sale), then I imagine we will see him mid november or so, which would be the same release time as G3M a couple of years ago.
Just noticed that Genesis 8 male is now a sorting option when shopping. Maybe Tuesday?

I'm not so sure as none of the 3 products listed actually need a G8M to properly fit them for G8M. G8F works correctly for those products. That said, I will be excited for G8M so I can try out that G3 to G8 transfer utility morph transfer process on both G8F and G8M at the same time.
If G8 male lands before both of the upcoming major sales, it could be a good thing for the customers, the PA's and DAZ3D. Basically because with the backwards compatibility of G8, there will be people taking advantage of the sales to get both new and old content.
Also, after the sales comes the holiday shopping season
Finally, with both the male and female released, not only does that open the gate for models of both genders it may also make it possible that we see more "unusual" items like the centaurs.
all of these things are a win for everyone involved.
Well it is true a G8M before the PA sales would help sell new content during those sales. That is sometime in September I think.
It would be nice to have G8 now, rather than squeezed in between the vampire and demon main figure releases in late fall. Right now, as much as I like genesis 8 female, there is only so much female content I need and will use.....
I do think it will be next week though. Haven't seen any hints of other characters.

That really depends on how accurately made the fibermesh and its materials are. I have not used textured brows since mid G1 era, literally. When I texture my characters they have no brows, till I make them their mesh. Laticis does excellent work, and his too I doubt it necisarry to require texture hybrid. But I agree, there should be both browless and texture brow mats.
Many women pencil their brows to add definition especially when they wear a lot of makeup elsewhere. To achieve the high degree of pruning and scultping that I see in genesis 8 female eyebrows, it would be believable to add a layering directly on the skin in addition to fiber mesh. Brows arent' usually this sharp, defined and crisp au naturale.
I usually try with men, to match the painted on brows beneath. With Redz brows there are enough morphs to make that happen easily. I haven't yet had to go elsewhere for men's brows.

any guesses the theme for Michael 8? Guessing he'll be the pretty boy style hero and with what is popular in the films and tv at moment types of characters in outfits I'm thinking will be in style of John Snow (fantasy theme), Peter Quill for SciFi, Superman/Flash inspired Aquaman and Batman inspired would be more rugged not Michael. And maybe a Bond type or even modern Doctor Who ish with suits and long coats I'm guessing these as possible add on looks as if you look at some of the past releases there does seem to be themes inspired by at the time popular films tv
My guess? Fantasy theme like many of the previous bundles. He will have two fantasy outfits along the lines of fantasy warrior and rogue one fw skin, one goth makeup skin, one plain base. He may have a basic pair of shorts or underwear. Hair is inevitably going to have one Mohawk since those are easier to make than full on hair and one nice hair used for promos. The stuff sold outside the pack will be more interesting and we might see full body hair and a beard, more shorts and poses. Clothing will still have the same inevitable issues such as lack of proper shoestrings pockets and zippered fly. Poses included in the set will be lots of muscle flex poses, modeling and just standing there perhaps with a sword. There will be no sci-fi in the set but will be sold later. Any hair included will have a fit for Victoria and lack proper masculine hairlines because everything is secretly about v8
thats my guess. Hope to be entirely wrong though. My ideal would be great new short hair crew-cut style, fibermesh bodyhair, subtle expressions, really nice even non plucked eyebrows, and regular joe outfits. If there is a warrior outfit, maybe make it sci-fi or an espionage outfit. No weird hairstyles.
Well the Victoria 8 was mostly, ignoring the extra character(s), the hair, and the poses they alway include was just underwear, sci-fi wear, and beach/teenage girl wear. I'd like to see Michael 8 be similarly themed although I'm not into sci-fi.

And it's beginning to look like he may well be showing up with another program update. Vendors appear to have a beta and are using it. Just looked at OOT's latest release over on Rendo and all the promo credits state that they were done in Studio 4.10.
Wow! 4.10 & the recent release of new Optitex (or whatever) Clothing for Genesis 3 Males? Could this be the long wished for DS improvement that turns all DAZ/Poser clothing (with a bit of work in DS) into dynamic clothing?

I'll throw in a guess: not Michael 8. Yes, DAZ may actually use a different character for the launch of the G8 male. They might actually drop Michael. Of course, DAZ might actually make their entire store available to me free of charge; anything that is remotely possible - is possible.
What could possibly prompt me to come up with such a notion?
Because on the Back to School promo page, whereas it is written VICTORIA IS MY GIRL! - it only pronounces MICHAEL WAS HERE. And it says it with three trailing dots of the kind that people writing stuff on forums use to make it seem like there's more to what they're saying than there really is...

I just hope with G8M they fix some of the bend issues. Like when G3M raises his arms sometimes you get some weird shaping (I think it's the pectoralis minor). There's some nice improvement with G8F's bends, I'd like to see them go maybe a bit further with G3M as they tend to be more muscled and you can really tell when there are bend issues with really muscled characters.
Genesis 8 Male has found his way onto the "Figure" filter at the top of the store...
Looking forward to it because I have some modeling ideas, mostly monsters, and male base makes more sense for most of it

I think he will be. Haven't heard of another female figure coming out, and all these genesis 8 male placeholders are awfully suspicious.
