    deLux Duck drop soup.
Finally got a finished LuxRender (although LuxRender never stops until you stop it) out of Daz Studio via Luxus. The lighting is handled differently, but the colors pop without needing postwork and it has a bit more feeling of depth than 3Delight.
Will continue to experiment with new scenes.

I do not think anyone in my home knows my favorite show. I asked if the TV has BBCA but they did not know what it was. House lady just knew it was not one of the channels that we get.

Interesting background splodgies, how many passes? Does Lux do adaptive sampling? :)

I haven't used it (can't afford Reality or even the new Lux thingy), but from all that I've seen, I would say it's important to use things that have higher resolution textures, because the low res stuff really shows when you do the Lux thing. I think probably most importantly is to use things that are similar in resolution for all components, in order to get a good look. I've seen people use a high res V4 skin with SSS and all that, with some pretty low res environments and props, and it looks so mismatched that it looks bad.

That said, yours looks very consistent, and high quality as a result!

    1 spot light 25 minutes 350 s/p

well the background was originally one of the camo textures from the super suit, but the version of Luxus used for that render did not translate tiling, the latest version does.. so I guess I need to redo it..

but currently messing about with textures and very basic scenes to see what I can convert over from DAZ and what I can't (there is a beta for a new plug that converts shader mixer stuff over to lux materials, so waiting for that.. right now learning how to add the .lxm data to DAZ lux materials to get things like wood.

This is the Sebastian I remember.

Mr. French! :wow: OK, now I'm dated.

    Dana

Sebastian Cabot? From Family Affair... good grief... I hate that I remember that show!

    Oh yes thanks ;)

No idea what Family Affair is. He's only, and always, Bagheera to me :)

Family Affair was a TV series about a fairly wealthy engineering consultant, played by Brian Keith, who had a swinging lifestyle in Manhattan until he wound up in custody of his nephew and two nieces after their parents died. Sebastian played his butler, Mr. French. It was a nice, family oriented program, a situation comedy.

Actually, for a background I think it was better the way it came out. If it tiled a lot I think it would be too busy for a background. Just my opinion.
